I'm with you on all the items except the candle lantern. I carried one for years but it's much easier to just have an electric light of some kind - LED, headlamp, hanging light, whatever. I just want light, I don't care about how "wonderful warm, flickering, alive" it is but if that matters to you by all means use a candle lantern. I've used a similar hand chainsaw for a number of years now, it's cut an untold number of fallen (small) trees, it takes some work on trees bigger than 6-8" circumference. The camping chair is a must have in my opinion. I prefer to run my water through a water purifier but I need a new one as the MSR Sweetwater was discontinued and I have almost used up my stock of filters.
I certainly use leds too, but being a photographer, I notice the quality of light. Please subscribe if you haven’t and keep watching, I’ll keep posting!
Get the Sawyer water filters though. The Steripen does work, but there is a high probability that all the water won’t be treated properly and the Sawyer doesn’t need batteries - one bout of Giardia is one too many. Ask me how I know.
@@mustachemoto I think it was water around the edge of the container. Probably my mistake. But awesome, you seem to be doing fine. However, may want to checkout out Sawyer as a backup. Thanks for replying. Really like your work.
I've got a Sawyer mini too, but like the Steripen. I'll make suer to be extra careful about water around the top of my bottles. Thanks for sharing and glad you like the videos!
I admit, jealous of the blower. I have been using the bag that came with the mattress. I will give the candle consideration. I normally car camp and tote a hurricane lamp and / or LED. The possibility of spilled fuel and smaller size of the candle makes the candle very tempting. I camp in Ks., and there isn’t any water I would drink without using special filters first. I bring filtered water from my residence. I camp so i can escape the city. I bring a few luxuries like a comfortable chair and bed. Just so you know, I'm another fan of your videos.
I camped a couple nights in Kansas last summer... one night there was a tornado and winds that nearly took me away with my tent! Yeah, I would only use the steripen on running water like mountain streams. For lakes and such, I will fill bottles on my last stop of the evening in case there isn't a spigot where I'm staying. So glad you like my videos!!! Keep watching and I'll keep posting!
