Samee back when she made slime videos she picked apart the ingredients in contacts solution that mean it works for slime and I literally went to the shops and checked for them every time 😂
I know this is random but you’ve probably been one of the more consistent forces in my life. I’ve been watching your content since I was 14. I’m 21 now. Thank you for continuing to create and share your work with us all and I hope you have a great rest of your year. You’ve inspired me to take art more seriously and I hope to go into toy making one day. Thank you again
Thank you so much! I'm so happy for your support and love reading comments from long-time subscribers. Wish you all the success for your toy design career 💖
While I know having a clean belly button is important for belly piercings and tummy tucks, I suspect this product is just something to make people worry about their hygiene. 😅
@@carol-bs7vv I can imagine, but would this product be the best to clean it? Also, would Japan have that many people with belly piercings among its populations to create this, or is it more likely that they created it for hygiene reasons?
0:11 I was thinking that maybe this is originally used for making squishes or maybe making a jelly pancake, but it turned out to be something I didn't expect! You were right about the title!
The things they make up to sell more in the beauty industry... Wild! I love the scientific approach though, really fun to see them compared! Since you got two packets of the bellybutton thing, could you try to make something out of the second one? Could be a charm too, or something more 3D maybe
my god, I hadn't realized how long I've been subscribed. that video feels recent and I remember so many that can't before it. I remember watching your first sock plushie video back in middle school
But is this gel skin safe? I mean, $25 for two packets is ridiculous, so I wouldn't try the product anyway. (Plus, I can use, you know, a wash cloth for that. 🤣) But whatever this substance is, there is clearly a chemical reaction that occurs when you mix parts A and B together. So my immediate thought is, "Is that OK to put on your skin?!" And not just on your skin, but deep in the belly button. I imagine that if you had a reaction, it would be a very unpleasant experience because you couldn't just simply wipe it off. I'll pass on this one. LOL But super interesting video though! (As always.)
i'm not sure what you mean by it being unsafe because there's a chemical reaction. the process itself is, effectively, the same sort of thing as making making slime, or an acid-set cheese. mixing lemon juice and milk creates cheese; mixing two liquids creates a solid. obviously, that reaction doesn't make cheese dangerous. in the same way, making silicon by mixing two things together isn't dangerous. the individual chemicals might be, but they're sealed in a bag to avoid you touching or inhaling them. the end product is almost certainly complete inert, and even if it was slightly toxic, you aren't ingesting it or leaving it on your skin for a long time, so it's probably not even going to make the top 10 of most carcinogenic things you ingest in a day.
I believe it it. Silicone is basically non-reactive and there are many types. If they used a food or skin safe type then it wouldn't be a huge issue to have it on a part of your body that generally isn't sensitive (compared to eyes/nose/lips).
@@rosen_venus I said "skin safe" because I meant, well, skin safe. I'm not talking about carcinogens. I've worked in oncology for over 20 years, I'm not worried about it giving anyone cancer, I'm worried about people having a skin reaction to it. If there haven't been a lot of complaints, then it's probably fine, but I have psoriasis and have to be very careful about what I put on my skin. Plus, I already have flare ups in really "weird" places, LOL, like the inside of my ear, so I'll stick to soap and water for my belly button.
@@Kristine_202 You would probably have to do a test like any cosmetic product, but silicone has had skin safe versions for years it's whats used for a lot of life casting
@@Kristine_202 My bad - I genuinely assumed you were a child who didn't really know how to articulate what they were concerned about, because of the language you used. So, I just generally tried to redirect that comment towards reassuring that chemicals/chemical reactions in general are not unsafe. The main point still stands though, as others said skin safe silicon is fairly standard and the "reaction" would have nothing to do with it being safe or not.
chiikawa!! didnt see momonga tho (edit: momonga spotted for a split second) 🥺 btw google translate always works better if you take a photo and have the app scan it rather than using the live translation
I have a weird belly button. It's all twisted from a surgery. I think it had too many scars or something so it's all shrivelled inside and not a hole. It get dirtier quicker and it's harder to clean even with a q-tip. So I think this product is made more for someone like me than someone with a classic circle belly button.
I’m usually looking after my dog, since it’s the summer holidays, whenever he sleeps, I watch your videos to calm myself down after stress. Thank you for being such a great RU-vidr! :)
i just wanna say ive been watching you since your needle felting videos when i was a kid and im just so happy you keep making amazing videos! they always make my day! ❤❤
i was watching a tiktok and came across a new sensory kind of squishy toy that is trending in China - the translations i’ve seen are calling it “handmade ball” but i’m not sure all of the facts on it. it might be interesting to research and make a video on !! much love and hope you are doing well, i’ve been a viewer since you started your channel and still enjoy your content so much 🫶🏼
Yes! I think it's the same squishy I'm showing in my next video, and already uploaded as a Short. It's a crunchy stress ball with lots of little beads inside?
Sort of agree, but over-packaging is unfortunately extremely common in Japan. This isn't even the worst example...many single use or small food items come in far more plastic.
There were even some photos uploaded to Amazon Reviews and some were genuinely shocking. I had no idea there was room for so much dirt inside a belly button, unless people have drastically different ones to mine 😂?!
Chiikawa has an extra “e” sound, so it’s chi-e-kawa for pronunciation. Usagi is like key, but with a g sound. Sorry to nitpick, I’m just a big fan of the characters 😅
