As soon as I am back to work! Had a minor disagreement with some ice and badly broke my leg and got a concussion hitting my head on the car then the concrete. Then I broke a couple bones in my foot trying to learn crutches. Now I have a walker. Ugh!!!!

What I love about that quote is almost anybody can draw inspiration because it could be applied to so many circumstances. From moving to a new city, learning an instrument, asking out a crush, having a baby, we must remain smart but it’s also important to be courageous and not let our fears get in the way of executing our plans and goals.

Lonny!!! My in-laws are massive Orioles fans bc they lived in Baltimore when they were first married. If you’re in that family, you *have* to love the Orioles and you get to have plenty of merch sponsored by my father in law. I have tried it! It’s a great piece of gear, and I enjoyed Ricky’s video on it very much. I’m still using my Kemper, which has served me incredibly well and I haven’t felt any need for change, so that’s been my go-to rig for the past few years now. Thanks for writing in!

I would look on the used marketplace in your area. Buying second hand is a great way to get a model above your budget albeit at a price you can afford. When speaking to beginners I always simply recommend finding an instrument that looks cool to you and inspires you to want to play it. If it checks those boxes and the instrument works then you’re golden. You can always upgrade later on once you learn more about different basses and discover the model you actually want to shred on, but at the beginning the main thing is you want to get excited about the physical aesthetic of it so that you’re inspired to pick it up and play it daily. That’s what I always recommend. The other route you can take is to buy one of those starter kits at a Music Store. They include the guitar, amp, strap, patch cable, everything you need to get started. Squier has a good one!
