The final wash making it feel the night seen is fantabulous to watch... Watching it since last one year again and again.... Final wash is like a cool breeze with a drizzle of rain passing through me.....
Lovely painting! I must admit when you started painting the blue (11:50) my jaw dropped. Wtf I thought! But of course the transformation was nothing less than magical! Grazie, caro!
Thank you, Umberto, for sharing. This is so helpful to see how you corrected those mistakes. Especially the last one with the sky! I got really nervous when you put on so much blue and got those stripes 😨 I would have been lost!!! And the result is just beautiful.
One demonstration which includes so many techniques a beginner can use! Also love you showing how you fix mistakes -- that is such a great teaching method. Also, most importantly you are working with what has appeared on the page and not fighting it. This is really good teaching. If a student does this one painting they will learn so much and possibly even succeed with a decent end product. Thank you for being so INTELLIGENT and not making your videos "personality" channels. Rare these days that the demos are not so much about the painter and making "friends" with the viewer. WELL DONE. You can help me a lot and I thank you!
I just discovered you! Oh my word!!! I LOOOOVE your painting! I subbed for an Art class a couple weeks ago and they were doing watercolor. I watched a tutorial in class and painted all day. I have fallen in love! I can only dream to ever paint like you. I painted your Tuscany scene (with the red flowers) tonight. This is my 4th painting so far. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent. I can't say enough how amazing your paintings are!
Aaah! when you put that dark blue wash on the left side of the painting my heart nearly fell out of my chest! But it worked, fabulous! Im really enjoying your videos, thanks....now if only i could get my backside off the chair and do some painting myself....
I started using watercolors, but I love to paint night skies. And so my colors are kinda controlled. I will def try this wet thing. :D To see how it will flow. :D
I am a beginner and have just discovered your videos! I have learned more from your demos and intend to go thru each and every one! You are an amazing artist and thank you for sharing all that knowledge!! You give me hope !
wow, it's a such enjoyable 15 minutes watching your every touch while listening to 1812 overture! I like pencil drawing but have never tried water color as I had slight confussion with certain color. However, your step by step tutoring has intrigued my desire to try. Thank you so much for letting us sharing!
I think my favorite part was where you glazed over the left part of the painting with a pale dark blue. I would never have thought of that but it had an immediate and profound effect. I learned something there so thanks a bunch for that.
thank you for such a helpful beginners landscape and water tutorial. the problem solving helped tremendously as well. your work is outstanding. Bravo!!
Just completed it. Looks nothing like yours 😂 I changed some of it. My man in the boat looks like he's passed out!! However really enjoyed doing it. Thank you for all the great ideas and for sharing your talent
What a brilliant way to do the foreground sea effect, never thought of that! I would like some white ink,but don't know where to get it. A person in the boat brought it all to life,Thank you for the tuition,I much enjoyed it.
Nancy Gauthier Alors un conseil, attention pour le lavis final (celui qui assombrit un coté), c'est un peu délicat. Mais il n'est pas obligatoire, c'est juste un exercice .
Very interesting, and very useful to a beginner like myself. I will defenetly put on light-enhancing washes on my not-so-good landscapes and se what happends! Thank you very much for sharing!
+Niklas Sarri If you want to do that, you'll find a lot of good recommendations by John LOVETT who is an Australian painter sharing a lot . Give a look first , i've worked following his recommendation !
Just found your channel yesterday and been binge watching. I love your work & how you actually work. You make it seem so achievable. Would you also tell us the brushes you use when you tell us the paints you use? And the paper types. Thank you so much.
