So, what is C#?
C# (pronounced "See Sharp") is a modern, object-oriented, and type-safe programming language. C# enables developers to build many types of secure and robust applications that run in .NET. C# has its roots in the C family of languages and will be immediately familiar to C, C++, Java, and JavaScript programmers. This tour provides an overview of the major components of the language in C# 8 and earlier. If you want to explore the language through interactive examples, try the introduction to C# tutorials.
And what is .NET?
.NET is an open source developer platform, created by Microsoft, for building many different types of applications.
.NET is a free and open-source, managed computer software framework for Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems. It is a cross-platform successor to .NET Framework. The project is mainly developed by Microsoft employees by way of the .NET Foundation, and released under an MIT License.

Great video, thanks. I use a Chromebook computer; I downloaded the .dotnet dsk 7 and 8 so I can learn how to program C#(instruction for the course). But it's not working and I can't even find another easy one to use for my practice. Could you recommend an IDE that I can use for C# programming? I am an absolute beginner interested in learning how to code and I currently have zero knowledge on any language. Greetings

Hey! Love from India 🇮🇳. Is it okay to learn C# from 2-3 old playlists? Or is there any major changes?

expensive? maybe a bit if you know another web tech like oldschool PHP. but not that bad tbh. Sometimes made a project go live as fast as possible maybe better than use another tech stack which sometimes take longer (at least for me). net core also available on apache but i never implement this one. Just net yet, i would sometimes when i have new tower to play around 😂

COST is always an issue from a business standpoint. Engineers don't focus on this as much as they should. PHP today in version 8.2 is quite performant for the majority of small to medium-sized business use-cases. Moreover, hosting is cheap due to the ubiquity of the language. While "CLOUD" may be the trend & focus of Microsoft, it's not necessarily the most optimum. AZURE is not cheap.

Nice presentation. Could perhaps do a video comparing *PERFORMANCE, *COST of A) C# .NET Stack run on AZURE, B) GO + FIBER , C) PHP 8.2 + Yii2, C) RUST + ACTIX ? From the standpoint of business owners, COST MATTERS -- not just for development, but as importantly, for hosting and running the site. Engineers / Developers tend not to pay much attention to LONG-TERM COSTS, when it's not coming out of their pockets.

About closed source its not full truth. Debugger and some tools is still closed source, so if you are open source enthusiast its not your choice

As a C# dev, I have to say it’s probably the worst possible pick if you are looking for a coding language to pick up. It’s not as intuitive as a python, it’s not as powerful and versatile as C++. It’s really only the best language if you are a complete masochist.

It might be all that you say but I just don't like it - not fond of Java either. I don't write code for a living but as a hobby. I have done one of your C# courses and although the course was very good I came away unimpressed with the whole thing.
