Wow! In my opinion, this is the best travel guide video/vlog of Cebu I have seen so far. The quality and info you get is impeccable. You can see the time and effort put into this vlog by the quality and comprehensiveness of it. I really enjoyed this vlog. You guys are the best. 👍🏼❤️
Oh wow thank you for sharing that with us🙏 Cebu has such a beautiful and rich history and we wanted people to understand it’s story. Gawd, I miss Cebu. Such an incredible and diverse island🙏🥹🇵🇭
Such a fantastic episode! We learned sooo much! You covered everything 👏🏼. So impressed with the editing at the beginning, so engaging and made me want to go back and re-watch all your old episodes.
I love 😍 Cebu City 💕 everything has it all. Meaning, package 🎁. Mountain climbing, Surfing, snorkelling and beautiful. Beaches, Sto Nino De Cebu City.. 1521, very historical, rich in culture..
Oh thank you so much!🙏😭Cebu City is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen because of its rich history. My goodness! Every corner was filled with a story. Loved it!🇵🇭
Wow👏. For me, this is by far the best vlog of Cebu City! You took time to highlight the significance of the Sto Niño and it's history. Cebu is the seat of Christianity of Asia. Many people from other islands come to venerate the Holy Child and attest to its miraculous help. Glad that you went to the mountain tourist spots as well....many vloggers bypass Cebu City and head straight south for the adventure or north for the beaches. Thank you for showcasing my home city🥰
Oh my goodness! Wow! Thank you so much!😭 That means so much to us!🥹We REALLY enjoyed ourselves as a family. Loved that we all learned about the history of Cebu and Christianity. It was so powerful. Especially for Knox and Nia to take in. It was like the best school field trip EVER! 🙏🇵🇭
@@MomDuty You should come back for the Sinulog festival, it's held every 3rd Sunday of January. It made its comeback this year after 2yr covid lockdown. It can be wild, chaotic but definitely fun to watch....feel good vibes generally 😊🥰. There's a grand holy procession the day before the festival where they say, the original icon of the Senyor Sto Niño, is taken out and makes its way through the city streets. Happy to know you're enjoying your stay here in Cebu.....where I believe, the only major island in the Phil which has both the city vibe and the island vibe in one setting 😜....Been watching your vlogs in the past but just subscribed🥰
I've been to Cebu nine times since 2017 to visit my fiancée, I just returned home last week from my most recent trip. I really enjoy visiting Cebu and all it has to offer, I really feel at home there!
It’s a beautiful city with so much history! Wish we could’ve stayed longer to see more. Can’t wait to come back and do a part 2 to Cebu! But stay tuned. We still have Lechon Vlog coming up next👏
@8:09 As a Cebuano AND devotee of Sto Niño like my lola this made me emotional. She used to serve DAILY at the Basilica well into her 80s. Strong faith and religion keeps us strong, ever resilient Filipinos. 🙏 Here's what that Sinulog prayer dance meant: "Beloved Senyor Sto Nino, Holy Cross, Here is Rocio's offering prayer for the family. For Good health. Good work. Happy family. Viva Pit Senyor! In Thanksgiving for family." ❤ Thank you Mama Mahfriend! Ocampos you are one blessed family!
Oh my gawd Xel!🥲I just got goosebumps🥹thank you for translating. She was just a sweet lady. I wanted to hug her. It was already such a spiritual day and when she said a prayer for our family, we felt it. It was so special😭😭😭😭
@@MomDuty mama Mahfriend...my pleasure. I also just offer a candle and would ask myself: how do they know what to pray for for me? ❤ I do not know what else to say. So heartfelt were your scenes inside the Basilica (do not see it EVER in some vlogs) - Thank You is not enough. After all the action packed days you had in Cebu, this was a truly fitting finale. 💞
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words🙏Ugh Cebu is such a beautiful island and has such rich history. Loved every day we were there. Hope we can go back to explore the island more🇵🇭
🇵🇭💖 It's so nice to see your whole fam enjoy Cebu! Thanks for promoting our country. Good Luck on you visit to Japan too. Hope to see back again. You did a great job!👍🤟
Thank you so much for all the support!!! You’ve been so awesome! Hope you stay in touch. But don’t leave yet. We still have Bohol and Palawan Series coming up before we leave to Japan.
@@MomDuty 🇵🇭❤️Yup, I'm one of your fans. Your videos are clean wholesome and family-oriented. I'm gonna support and watch you guys! Take care, God bless!🙏
Ahhh thank you SO much!!!!!😭🎉💯That means the world to us!!! Nelvine is an editing machine! He comes up with the most creative shots! I’ll let him know you said this🥹🫶
Thank you so much Rey!!! Cebu is absolutely beautiful🫶🇵🇭Love how diverse it is. From mountain hotels, to beach resorts and even the lively city life. All of it is so awesome☺️
Your spiels!!! Appreciate that you put so much effort in learning facts instead of just merely roaming and looking around. This is well-produced! Evidently, you put your heart in producing this vlog. You deserve more subscribers! Thanks for coming to Cebu!!!
Thank you so much! Wow! We really appreciate your kind words. Cebu has such a beautiful and rich history. We wanted to make sure to share it with the world!🇵🇭🙏
Just a heads up, there's a street there near Colon street named Magallanes street which was named after Fernando Magallanes the Spanish name of Ferdinand Magellan. It's the same with Colon street named after Cristobal Colon, the Spanish name of Christopher Columbus.
Yes! You’re right! A local ended up telling us the same thing. So correction☝️there is definitely a street named after Fernando Magellan! Yea! Thank you for the heads up!👏
Salamat!!!! You’re so nice!! We loved hanging out in Cebu. We really miss it! My goodness, it’s such a beautiful island, with rich history and positive vibes🇵🇭🫶
Hi Jei Vee! Oh I goy to go back and visit you all soon. Miss you guys there! I didn’t know you’re from Cebu?😲We have the best memories there, miss Cebu so much!🏝️ 🇵🇭
Oh my gosh!!! Wow!!! That means so much to us especially coming from a local. We appreciate your support. But don’t leave just yet. We’ve got the Lechon Tour as our last vlog in the series. But then we have Bohol Series and Palawan Series too. Love that island life!🏝️
The garden cost 80 pesos now. Was there on the 24th of Dec. 2023. Also went to the Tempo of Leah the same day. was there during the daytime but always wondered what it would look like at night. That statue you blurred out was funny to see. I have photos of all the statues and vases in her collection that were on display which was a lot. And the view of the whole city was amazing.
Wow the temple of Leah and garden so beautiful enjoy explore beautiful place in Cebu and the hestory of church.god bless happy family stay safe so nice view in Cebu
so many places i wanna visit in Cebu... Lechon, Lapu-Lapu statue, churches, Malapascua, Kawasan etc... It's ok, i get to live vicariously through The MomDuty fam! Literally seems like, everytime i watch the kids intro, they look older and older... in a good way. Not like for us 40+ year olds. 🤪 I was recently reminded that January is festival month... hope i can check out Sinulog next year! Did you notice the Tattoo's that Lapu-Lapu had in the historical depictions/drawings of him? If you see the most recent Vogue magazine in Philippines... Apo Whang-Od is on the cover and she is part of the reason Filipino Tattoos are being revived and celebrated in recent years. This is probably one of the more complete Cebu vlogs... ultra informative and love seeing these parts of PI i haven't yet visit. Like you said sis... the colors of that garden are super nice! Glad you stayed during what seems like part of golden hour, the colors really pop with the greens, purples and yellows! LOL and there you go again wearing a skirt at the windy hills spinning atop the hand! haha awwwe 12:47 you and Nelvine enjoying the view... a gentle kiss and the kids doing the video production! LOVE LOVE LOVE! 14:04... Kids, you heard mom... start saving to rent Temple of Leah for their 25th wedding anniversary 😎 and i'm gonna side with Knox... Greek architecture was before Roman so the Roman's borrowed some ideas from The Greek. Look at that BIG BRAIN on Knox!!! Get it boy!!! Anaks... hope you guys had fun helping mom & dad with shooting and continue to learn more! Sis, my bad... my comments be getting SUPER LONG! Just love seeing you, Nelvine and the kids enjoying everything about the PI... Stay safe always FAM!!
Jason, my brother form another mother! Thank you for taking the time again. I know you’re a busy guy. My gosh….you always take the time to send us such a nice message and we love that. I always read it to the kids like they’re receiving a text from their cousin. Salamat Kuya. The kids are growing right before my eyes. That’s why traveling with them during this age right now is so meaningful to me and Nelvine. I know we won’t get this time back. And one day they will be grown with their own friends and family. And we want them to look back on this chapter of their lives and be filled with so much happiness🥹 I saw Apo Whang-Od Vogue’s cover🤯She’s so beautiful and inspiring. She got her flowers 💐 Never wear a skirt on a windy day🤦♀️🤣 Knox reads constantly. He has so much information in that brain of his. Love when he shares it with all of you☺️ Our 15th wedding anniversary is coming up Knox and Nia. I don’t think I can wait to have it until our 25th wedding anniversary🤣haha. That temple is insanely beautiful! Oh my gosh!
So amazing video 😮😍 I’m from Cebu and now staying in Japan…I’m missing Cebu so much 😍😍😍 thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 stay safe on your journey’s …new friend here 🙌
You guys really give reasons why should I watch your video. You go to places I have not been visited and the important part of it, is the information that you shared.
What an amazing vlog about my home province, Cebu! I always enjoy watching your videos for more than a couple of reasons - very informative, excellent videography, and every single family member’s active participation in the videos, among others. I’m pleased that the whole family is enjoying your Cebu adventure. I miss my family, friends, food and certain places like the churches, museums, and tourist spots there.💗 Just in case you plan to visit Davao City, I hope I can meet you here. …. And yes, Magallanes Street was named after Ferdinand Magellan (Fernando de Magallanes in Spanish). 🙂 Btw, the northern towns of Cebu are also worth exploring.👍
Thank you so much Carmel for the kind message! Wow! It’s very encouraging☺️We love traveling the world and learning. So we all enjoy vlogging and sharing our experiences, especially my mini vloggers, Knox and Nia👦🏻👧🏻 Ahhh seeing your beautiful province of Cebu has been such a treat for us! It’s a little bit of everything. It’s got beautiful beaches, lush green mountain ranges and of course this lively city! The food has been amazing too🤤Can’t wait to share our Lechon tour. Ok thank you for confirming that Magallanes Street was named after him. A local told us that while we we walking around near Magellan’s cross. We definitely gotta come back for North Cebu! Something new to look forward to next time. Are you still in the Philippines?
Love it! Thanks for inspiring me and my family🫡. I am from Baguio and I also loved the vlog you did here. Hope Cafe by the ruins is open when you get back here😁
Thank you so much!! We miss Baguio! We gotta come back just for Cafe by the ruins🤭But I will only. Suit in February from now on😆Ahhh this month is pure magic🌸🌼you can feel the energy from the entire mountain town. I LOVE IT! I hope to invite extended family for 2024👍
Guys no skipping of ads for them please. And let us introduce this channel to our fellow Pinoys. Road to 20k subscribers. Woooh!!! Yeah Rocio why not build a temple for Kuya Nelvine ( I call him Kuya because he is older than me.) hahaha!!
@@MomDuty FUN FACT : Derek Ramsay the actor ( the doppelgänger of MadDuty) is married to Ellen Adarna. Yes the Adarna family who own Temple of Leah, she is the granddaughter. 🥰 Maybe a sign that you are meant to book the temple for your anniversary .. ayiiiii 😂😂😂
@@MomDuty yes. IL Corso in SRP is an alfresco food park with restos also. So wide range of food options Perfect area for Sinulog. Stay at the NuStar Resort. ❤
@@MomDuty yay that’s good to hear , can’t wait to see your Japan blogs, when you come back try resorts within the area like j park resort in Lapulapu , they also offer different water sports activities like para sailing and it’s just near the city
*bantayan island* cebu's bantayan island (by bus to ferry) is hailed as "holy week" island of cebu & of the philippines it's the only island that were allowed to eat pork during the holy week (by tradition, but not entirely imposed) they have a number of holy week activities, too
It's quite impossible really for Magellan not to have a street named after him in Cebu. Magallanes Street (Spanish for Magellan) runs from Magellan's Cross all the way to the Guadalupe River.
You’re quite right! Oh ok!☝️So now we know that Magallanes is Spanish for Magellan. For some weird reason we couldn’t find it.lol. But a local showed us. We learned so much about Ferdinand, so I’m glad we saw it before we left Cebu City.
@@MomDuty It's a busy street too just like Colon with lots of shops, restaurants, banks, churches, parks and a university. Magallanes, alongside Manalili and Borromeo Streets are considered the Chinatown of Cebu.
@@MomDuty Magellan's Portuguese name was Fernão de Magalhães. In fact, the street actually runs from Plaza Independencia (a public park where the oldest and smallest fort in the country, Fort San Pedro, is located) and runs westward and terminates at Guadalupe River. In early 1990s the segment of Magallanes Street that passed between Magellan's Cross and the Basilica del Sto. Nino compound was permanently closed off from vehicular traffic resulting to the street having two separate segments today.
Colon street might be named after the explorer but might also be after "kolun" which means earthen cooking pot which were sold along the street and the Estero that runs along parallel the street
Yeah, "Kolon" is cooking pot in Cebuano, now we just call it "Caldero" which is spanish for cooking pot. I think it makes more sense that Colon St. is derived from "Kolon" because Cristobal Colon ( Christopher Columbus ) never arrived in SUGBO and so therefore it just doesn't make any sense to named Colon St. after Cristobal Colon who never even set foot in SUGBO in the first place.
@@MomDuty oh..! You are most welcome to my hometown madam, I wish to take a picture together with you and your family but I'm so busy madam of job, specially today sunday I'm with my family. 🌹❤️💋👍🇵🇭
I am from Cebu City! Thank you for taking time touring my beautiful Home Town! The Queen City of the South! 💗🫶🏻 love subcribing your YT 💗 please shout out me. Thanks🎉
This is the old 16th century very historic downtown SUGBO the Oldest city in the Phils and the Original capital city of the Phils. You want modern CEBU then go to uptown areas with less to Zero history.
Be really honest, it’s dirty . Yes run down , crowded . It’s easy to get a Taxi to Colon street , but not so easy to get one from Colon street in the evening back to your starting point .
@@MomDuty Hi , I was directly referring to Colon Street , that being the area highlighted in the video . I was not referring to Cebu City , or indeed Cebu in general . I love Cebu , as returning in a couple of months .
