I was blessed to have a Cane Corso/Bordeaux mix for 13 years. “Best friend” is an insult as the amount of love and support he provided is unmatched. (I’ve got PTSD) It’s been 2 years since his passing and I’m ready. Maybe a female this time. Let’s see. Good vibes.
I got two cane corsos gifted to me very recently I was quite surprised and scared at first, but later on i did a bunch of research and your channel does help me a LOT,thank you, there both very loving and loyal dogs to me and my little sister
This is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen. He has a dignified look, very subtle drooling, eyes are not droopy, skin looks super healthy, all of which I believe tend to be compromised with inbreeding or just bad breeding. Physically he seems capable and functional and best and most important of all he seems to have great temperament. Kudos to you, from a Bernese dad :)
This is Exactly what happened with my lab - she is 3 months old now and just got done with her shots. Doc said dont take her out and what I have at hand now - is a dog that not biting people, but gets really really excited seeing someone and nips and jumps. I realised it too late that I should have socizlied her the moment she came in and in that crucial period. But not doing it again. Her trainer starts next week and hopefully, post her training, I will be able to take her everyday. But that jason is indeed very crucial advice.
Our 4 year old Cane Corso is great with tiny dogs, grandkids, and friends. He’s a smiler too. He always smiles when he sees us, which makes him sneeze. He’s like the 7th grandkid 😄
The reason their joints grow so fast before the rest of their bodies is to make the joints strong so they’re able to handle the weight of their bodies. It’s true that you shouldn’t over exercise, BUT make sure they are getting exercise, like he said with letting them chase butterflies. Also stairs are probably ok if it’s not like 2 flights a day. Good for them to strengthen their joints!
You are the only person I want to trust with giving me information thank you for not being criptic and saving the rest for a paywall I've just gotten a 12 week old female she was left last due to her having a umbilical hernia 😭
Thank you for all the advise. For 12 yrs I had a staffordshire, and when he had gotten sick I took him to the vet and ran into one of the beauties. I instantly fell in love. Though I'm not ready for another pup at the moment. This is my next pick. Still researching all about them.
seriously one of the best cane corso videos i have found. i have been trying to consume myself with knowledge on these beautiful animals. my fear is that i do something wrong during first year that causes me to have a bad and dangerous situation becaue there is surely no giving this type of dog to a pound. your video has put me at ease. yes lots of work to be put it but it's more intensive than it is anything else. thank you for caring about the breed and putting out helpful responsible videos.
got my two brothers almost 3 months ago at 8 weeks old. Love the content. Sirius and Apollo. theses two are 100% home protectors. and at 92 and 86 lbs they also make great blankets
I have one, she's a super lovey girl. The only dog that ALL four of my cats have reciprocated affection towards...because she is respectful of their space and gentle when she approaches them. She's definitely a Barker. She's proud of her guarding. She'll bark out the front livingroom window when she see's the neighbors coming home and she'll turn around to make sure that I'm listening to her....direct eye contact and Bam! Her little tail starts wagging. If I ignore her for four minutes, she stops barking and starts whining instead. She responds well to No Maam and Thankyou. She's a full fledged member of the family, so she sleeps on a bed, has her preferred chair in the living room and gets plenty of cuddle time. If cuddle time isn't sufficient, she will get in your face and whine lol....and some ear scratches, forehead rubs, stroking of the nose....is her favorite affection to receive.
Excellent advice!! Thank you. Right now I have an American Bully we rescued. One day we will would love to have a Cane Corso. I'm soaking up all the information possible for that time. ❤ you Bruce Wayne.
I rescued a cane corso/rottie female without really knowing what she was or much about her breed. She is 10 now, and I have never had such a deep relationship with an animal before. She understands what I say to her and she guards me like I am the queen. She is not real socialized, but neither am I.
I had to be the same way with my Great Dane when he was puppy , He loved being around family couldn’t leave him outside for more than 10 secs , he was the sweetest thing ever , just like Bruce , but I’m thinking about getting a Cane Corso myself . But overall your channel is so dope , and I love your family. 🤘🏿🔥❤️
I truelly believe the socializing, we have a male that loves everyone he’s known since he was a puppy. Strangers he wants to eat. Thank god he loves kids! Literally bows down to them and is submissive.
Jason maybe I'm not seeing them or u didn't post any, love to see Bruce Wayne as a pup, and pictures even videos. Intrigued in deed. Stay safe and Beautiful and hope yr feeling good. U seem happier than a year ago, and we're happy u 3 Are in our lives..
Everyone told me that a CC is too much as a first dog. I believe it has to do with your own personality. I'm an assertive stable person. My first dog was a Cane corso and my second a great Dane.
Ja Z binx how is he or she?? I’m thinking of getting one literally by tonight do u think a cane corso is a good idea for first timers?? I have walked and taken care of grown German shepherd and poddle lol but never really owned a dog of my own is that even good enough??
Jason Corey I’m thinking of getting one literally by tonight do u think a cane corso is a good idea for first timers?? I have walked and taken care of grown German shepherd and poddle lol but never really owned a dog of my own is that even good enough??
@@linaaa3135 In my country there are age restrictions for such dogs. I had to be at least 21 years old to register one to my name. You should check your laws and regulations. Unfortunately Cane Corsos are getting banned one country at a time. You're not allowed to breed them anymore in Austria for example. You're not allowed to own one in UK and UAE if they are born after 2015 or something. If you don't know if you could handle a guard dog breed and you need to ask on RU-vid for advice, I'd say you're not ready. Double check everything. Being responsible for any dog and binding yourself for at least 10 years+ in such a relationship is a big step and shouldn't be decided within 1 day.
My Husband would be so jealous knowing he jumps up and down when you come home. Our little Maltese ( Just passed in Jan) couldn't care less when he came home, he'd be like " Oh that's you...ok." but for me...he would jump for as long as his little old self allowed, he was 18. They have a great relationship in other ways, cookies, treats, and potty breaks and yes, we do see the difference when both are home. He sleeps and relaxes more.
My 4 month is spoiled I trained him wrap his front legs around my neck and I lift him up to lower him down from the car and carry up and down steps in out of the car or truck etc we never let him jump or climb we feed high quality kibble/raw mix he is potty trained and he got treats for potty training and rest he doesn’t get treats he monkey see monkey do with my hienz 57 3 yr old male dog we always try help him through his fears an jumpy at noise and loud bangs etc
Our 4 month old doesn’t leave my side if I can’t take him I don’t go even date night with hubby we take him at night sleeps with me showers and sets with me using bathroom he loves being held on our lap he asks doesn’t beg or whine he will paw 2 times and lay if we don’t listen he paws 2 times lays rolls over it is funny an amazing he is my best friend like my toddler they are very much so are part of the family one of my kids with fur an 4 legs He is in training Vto go out socializing he is doin amazing such a smart soft well behaved well mannered such fast learning smart puppy I have Łœever owned I a. m 39 an we have owned bred an raised pitts and we bred an raised German shepherd dogs sold to k9 police stations and I have never had one as well behaved and well mannered
i really injoy your videos am working with a profesional trainer for my golden retriever to be a service dog so i can take her to see my buddys a va hospital thanks
We take our dog everywhere and we had dogs they went everywhere together < when our big dog wanted to come she came. I’m home always now but time for another big dog< want a protector< we went to trainers and socialized are our Anatolian so we wouldn’t have a people problem because we were worried anything could happen.
I had one years ago and couldn't leave him alone to go downstairs and answer the front door he would bite through my cell phone I had to replace 3 in a week. I have a red nose pitbull mixed with bloodhound now and he's awesome just doesn't play well with other large dogs or male dogs. Small female dogs he's great. He isn't aggressive to humans endless the human becomes aggressive yelling at someone arguing he will set off warning barks to stop letting you know he doesn't approve it's no okay . If violence is produced he will attack the violator. The cane Corso is by far my favorite breed however.
I hear ya on the "convincing your wife" that it would a good thing to get a Cane Corso..lbs-- I'm dealing with that now; I think I'm getting close though😁🙏🏾.
I love guardian dogs. I have a great pyrenees and she's amazing! My fiance and I are considering getting a cane corso in the future. This is great info, thank you! 😁
I wish everyone would educate themselves on the resposibilty of this undertaking. The breeding of different dogs bring varied needs. Example; a Siberian Huskey is an escape artist that needs intense workouts.
i just got my cane corso puppy today and the only thing i cant understand is where can i take him in order to socialize if he hasnt had all of his vaccines yet???
1st time dog owners... Treats should only be given once they reach a specific age for house training and behavior training. If your gonna spoil your dog, bare in mind what your dog may associate that with when you do. I highly advise consulting with a professional dog trainer & behavioral specialist in your local area.
Hi, glad I found your channel, we recently lost our Sheppard, so we are looking for a guardian breed and when I did the comparison, the Cane Corso seems to be a good fit. We live on a 32-acre woodlot at the end of a cul de sac and require a great companion along with a guardian dog. We have had dogs all our lives, with 2 Golden Retrievers, Black Lab, Retriever/Border Collie, and the German Sheppard. All great dogs. I am fully ready to spend at least a year of the dog training me....I like the Cane Corso clipped ears, however, there always seems to be good and bad. Should their ears be clipped due to health and cleaning purposes? Your thoughts would be appreciated. I appreciate your channel for the great advice and love of the breed. Cheers.
Do these physical rules apply to small to medium sized dogs too? We don't stop kids from running/playing sports during childhood/adolescence and they don't develop injuries unless overdone.
I have a chance to adopt a pitt bull Cane mix. Does one have the ability to be a farm dog. No fences a farm dog has to have access to the farm and know to stay on the farm. I have a Treeing Walker now.
Bruce Wayne looked like Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon as a puppy LOL so freaking adorable!!!!!!! He still is beautiful of course, but doesn't look like Toothless anymore.
Awesome videos. I have an almost 4 month old cane corso that all of a sudden has developed very aggressive resource (food) guarding. Do you have any advice?
We are getting a cane corso pup in a week and im so very nervous. Ive been watching yalls videos which helps but has alsoade me more nervous. Im tryingvto fund your book but i cant seem to find it. Can you help please?
Thank you for this video, great info, I'm looking into a male same color as him, but I don't want his ears clipped and leave his tail the way it is, is it recommended to do so?
Clipping of the Ears helps prevent ear infections and getting the tale trimmed is bread standard. But there are breeders who don’t do either although it is recommended to clip the ears.
I getting a Cane Corso on my 10 acre property! In the Sierra Mountain range! He will be spoiled! But needs to protect the property from bears and mountain lions! Do you think I should keep the dewy claw on our dog? Or leave it on for protection for our dog in case of a fight with a bear or mountain lion!
Are all these steps valid from 2months old. Like you say in the video socialise them from weeks old etc where as il be getting my puppy in 1week which he is now 2.5months old
@Rulya Mórrigan Ard Mhacha I've always loved Dogo Argentino's, but they're banned where I'm from as they're deemed dangerous 🙄. What is your dogo's temperament like?
my 10yr old male just passed away this week, I miss him so much, after years of helping other breeders and owners of the Cane Corsos I agree with what you have to say, obedience training is very helpful too, and energy is everything, if your calm he will feel calm too, thank you for sharing
Ugh! I hate people who can’t control their dog, especially if it’s such a strong an big breed! It can be so dangerous! We have a dog and he is 1/3 cane corso and he behaves very well. I also hate all their excuses, if they can’t handle the dog, they shouldn’t get the dog.
Bruce is absolutely beautiful. We have our 2nd Cane Corso now. We socialized him right from the beginning by taking him to Lowe's, Home Depot, and the veterinarian's office just to hang out so he would be comfortable there when he needed treatment. It worked like a charm and he thinks it's social time whenever we go for checkups. With our first, we didn't take him anywhere until after he had all of his shots and that was a mistake. He was great with people as long as he sensed that we were ok with him, but he quickly became intolerant of other dogs and ended up getting expelled from daycare. Even so, he was the best fur-baby. We lost him to bone cancer and miss him every day, but we love our new guy just as much. New owners should be prepared though, you will have something the size of a person glued to you no matter what you are trying to do! ❤😆
@@thatguy8718 Our first Corso also ate only a raw diet after he turned 6 months old. He was almost 7 when we lost him. However, he was neutered early before we knew about the increased risk of bone cancer in giant breeds. We waited until our 2nd Corso was a year old before he was neutered.
@@apkn1955 Yes. He had all his shots and didn't catch anything except pats on the head and hugs from all the vet staff who greet him like a rockstar every time we're there.
My intentions were to do just that socializing him in EVERYWAY possible but with covid-19 situation its extremely hard...so far we've only been to the vet... 😒
I love how you stress socialization. We have a 110-lb male 3 year old american bulldog and he is an angel of a dog all the time, and I swear it's because we socialized him *to no end* for the first 6 months of his life. When it comes down to it - if people are too lazy or busy or tired to socialize their puppy (especially large breed dogs) PLEASE please do not get a dog in the first place.
