This video is about the Czech Pirc Defense, which is an opening made to be played against 1.e4, but we're going to learn a way to play it as a system against anything our opponent throws at us. We can also play it as white, a tempo up. So this is the perfect jack-of-all-trades opening in chess!
I learned this opening from NM Robert Ramirez, so shout out to him an credits as well for the idea of making this opening a great beginner resource to safely play the opening stage without memorizing dozens of lines.

I played this a lot, either the Czech or other variation, also from Rob Ramirez. One note. I've almost never ever had anyone fall for the queen a5 pin. By this point, I'd probably opt to just put my queen on c7.

Maybe it only works against really low rates players. Thx for the comment

@@WhatTheForkChess If I remember correctly, he suggests it more for speed chess games. Also, I think it's a waste of tempo for both sides, so it doesn't hurt to play it. Black moves its queen back to c7 and white needs to move its bishop as well. I just immediately expect to move the queen back.

I played this opening for a decade. Objectively, it's a poor & incorrect defense. Both the f4 Qa5 and h3 Bh5 Qe2 variations are much better for white.
