Ken I like found footage such a REC and Blair witch and some of the stories in V/H/S for example but didn't care much for paranormal activity, but love the look of that ultimate chills set.

I'll have to check a few of these out. Good to see Frailty getting some love, since nobody talks about it and its great! One I recommend that most havent seen is Joyride. Great killer trucker movie, with Steve Zhan and Paul Walker who have great chemistry playing brothers. And theres like 6 alternate endings!

The Thing is my favorite Sci fi horror film. I love Carpenter, Russell and David. And I'll be damn but ol Wilford is awesome in it! I can't bring myself to watch the prequel. No Carpenter no watch. I prefer the unknown leading into The Thing.

What a GLORIOUS restoration they did with “Poltergeist”. Can’t wait to watch “The exorcist” in 4K. I’m 100 % positive that Warner has nailed it. I absolutely LOVE “The Faculty”. It totally deserves that 4K treatment. An interesting fact about this movie in Blu-Ray in the Spanish market is that is super expensive due to faulty discs when it came out. 90 % of the copies have died over the years. Same thing happened with Halloween: H20, Resurrection, Shutter Island…
Not bad picks for horror movies. But I am shocked that we still don't have a bluray release to this day. For one of the most underrated horror movies. From 2009 the loved ones witch is one of the best horror films that alot of people still don't know about or have seen. And if you are a horror movie lover. Then you need to see this horror gem
If we were talking about fun movies for Halloween, one that is in my top five and that I think everyone would enjoy it is Trick ‘r’ Treat. It’s more fun, entertaining and original then all that generic slasher junk.
Trick or Treat is one of my all-time favorite Halloween anthology films. Some of my other favorite Halloween anthology films in my collection are Tales of Halloween, Bad Candy, All Hollows Eve 1&2, 10/31 1&2, Halloween Season of Witch, and Haunt.
Saw The Guardian when it came out, and yes it's like a Horror version of Hand That Rocks the Cradle. Not great, but has enough cool things to have in the collection.
The Thing (2011) is complete & utter 🗑️, so have to strongly disagree with Ken on that one. Honestly the only prequel (technically but not so much in practice) worth its salt is Temple Of Doom, and the only worthy remake is John Carpenter's The Thing.
Edit: Ken! You mentioned it! I made my comment before you brought it up. Awesome! One of my favorite spooky movies that doesn't get any love is Frailty. Matthew McConaughey, Bill Paxton, and Powers Boothe. I don't think it has a 4k. A shame.
I highly HIGHLY recommend Intruder bluray from Synapse. Im serious. The gore and effects are awesome. Its one of my favorite 80s slasher. All set in a grocery store. Great pacing because each kill is memorable and split up evenly. If you liked the effects in City of The Living Dead (the drill scene) then youll like this one because it has the same quality of gore except theres more body count in Intruder.
It wasnt prefernce wise for friday the 13th they screwed it up badly like planes trains and automobiles Every single reviewer has noticed problems with how they remastered it with source material brightness wise
I agree that The Thing is one of the best horror films ever made but the prequel is not great and really did not need to be made. I just did not need to know what happened before the 80’s film events happen - too many times studios feel they need to over explain everything and many times it is better left to the viewers imagination. Misery - not sure I consider that a horror. You need to checkout Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive (also known as Braindead outside North America) - have to watch the uncut version not just the unrated as the uncut (think it has a running time over 104 min while unrated is around 97 min) is the best cut as it adds a lot more gore. One of my fav horror comedies like Evil Dead 2. This needs a 4K / blu-ray release as the uncut version only found as an import on DVD and now the unrated blue-ray version (which I found a few years ago) is now out of print. How about more b-movie 80’s horror - to me the best era of horror - Night of the Creeps, Re-Animator, Basket Case, Brain Damage. Suggest for a new era horror try checking out DEATHGASM - fun movie with great gore and humor and an 80’s vibe.

To be honest, you are being too kind about the thing 2 that movie, what utter trash the acting CGI, everything what’s wrong with modern movies was in that film also, Mary Elizabeth is dreadful as an actress too strong independent woman type thing which comes across very forced Now the original thing was a tour de force of filmmaking story acting, a all-time great
