Kyle, thanks for all of your sharpening videos…I’ve actually broke out the stones and have made hair popping edges on many of them. Only problem I have now is I need to sell my wicked edge sharpening system. Lol. Thanks again bro. Absolutely love hand sharpening and you’ve made it much better for me. Cheers buddy👍👍

When you first pulled that skinning knife out of it's sheath, the shape of the blade reminded me of a shark's fin. I'm not very skilled at coming up with clever names, so I'll leave that up to someone better. Anyway, thanks for the video Kyle, much appreciated.

I use a lot of lapping film and diamond paste on balsa wood strops. Very cost efficient. The secret is to work on a cheap but flat & smooth hard marble. Wet it down. Put a piece of wet copy paper down. Then the wet film on top of that. It won't go anywhere.

Good video. I have been collecting knives for almost 50 years, I still say you can’t beat a Spydie Delica or Endura full flat ground VG-10 knives.

I haven't handled the Endura yet, but I'll bet its great!! I want a dragonfly, but they're pretty expensive for the size of knife.

Beautiful video, Kyle! Regarding the Shapton Kuromaku blue/black, you mentioned that it was a “340” grit. Did you mean “320” grit? The reason I ask is that it seems the only one available online are “320” grit. Thank you!
@larryseibold4287
@larryseibold4287 3 года назад
good tips. minimal steps, with good results. I am curious if you have tried and care to comment on the S KUROMAKU #320 vs S Glass 500, and similarly the S Glass 1000 vs the S KUROMAKU #1000 or the Nanawa Pro Chosera 1000 (or 800) in your one/two stone process. I have a S Glass 4000 now (and some old DMTs) and am looking to buy on the most important stone(s) in my lineup.

Based on how much you like that delica, you should take a look at the spyderco chaparral, great knife even slicier also flat grind, also from the taiwan factory, which where all the BEST spyderco kmives come from, it is 95 dollars USD, it has CTS-XHP steel too, great knife Kyle, take a look at it

Hi Kyle bit of a long talk sorry if I bore you but, I am in England although I have lived in B C Canada , I watch all your vids and thankyou for your knowledge. I got the nanawa 3000 pro and like you say i find endless metal pieces left on it that any blade skips or rolls on, I will get the nagura 600 to cure that. In the UK I can access the kuramaku which is 320 grit and am thinking of a shapton glass set of 3 , 1000 , 3000, and 8000 which costs £164 here should keep me happy. I love your videos and aspire to sharpen half as good as you, dont think it will happen but I am getting better thanks again for your tutorials

Have you tried a Missarka Stone? Can get both a 500 and 1000 grit for the price of one of those Japanese Stones. Then one of those Artificial Ruby Stones they sell on Ebay for a 3000 grit. Finish on a Slovakian Rozutec Stone.

@@kyle_noseworthy cheap euro brand. The stones are made from ground up arkansas stones. They create a interesting edge. I wish they used a better binder. They are ok stones. For the price they are great. Quick Soak and go to work.

Mate love your work...but those are some of the lowest sabre grinds I have seen...almost bordering on a scandi grind I would say...any reason you favour such a low grind?
@kyle_noseworthy
@kyle_noseworthy 3 года назад
Glad you like my work, Wade. As for the grinds, I don't believe they're abnormally shallow, given the thickness of the steel. Pretty standard.
