Saw a few below suggest hinged covers really a folded piece of aluminium will work. Fold it so it sits about 3mm above all the inlets to stop dust etc falling in. Makes oiling harder but imo you should oil when your putting them back.
I dig it, nice and simple. Another idea is to use the corresponding coupler's. A little slower and more expensive, but more secure and would solve the debris concern.
In on the Ozark. Thing looks killer. I also made a tool holder out of a length of angle. Drilled a series of holes big enough for the hose nipple and it holds them upright to keep the dirt out. Welded it to my bench so everything is in one place and easily accessible.
I have many large air tools with fittings coming off at 90 degree turns .. simple solution .. put the angle iron up .. drill a 1/4 inch hole .. small piece of rope with a stopper knot .. slide it through and tie a sliding knot on the other end .. grab it by the body
Great idea, Kyle. I like the easy access/return and ease of oiling. I know your gears are already turning to solve the dust and debris issue... just another video, so it's a win, win! 😉 As always, love your work, man! Have a great weekend! 👍
Do they tend to slide out of the slots since there's nothing holding them in? I wonder if adding a little recessed area at the end of the slot would be enough to keep them from sliding out accidentally.
I'd love to have one of the cups there bad ass. I'd also like the hat waiting one my order to get here so I can start showing it off. I have a 70 Chevy truck Im working on plus my 68 Camaro. I have two 71 Nova Drag cars.. lol.
If You had made it a double plate, one full to cover the bottom one, You will only have little problems with dust entering the tools. And You know that You are able to to get an automatic oiling system, while using tools.
The Fab Forums they make caps for the air tools to keep the dust out. They stay attached to the brass fittings so you won't lose them. I got some from harbor freight a while back. The tool holder was a good idea!
like Turboflush said, if you make a little hinged cover for the nipples then it would keep debris out and also help hold them in place when moving the cart around, A piece of aluminum square stock would make fabrication a snap.. Do Work Son
