Would you (or have you) visited this park? Want to buy Lynn a beer? Mike a chocolate bar? Or anything else? Here's our Venmo! We will shout you out in a video! venmo.com/u/WanderingWagners Text/call us! 213-294-0398
Yes I have been to turkey run several times and it is very cool we have hiked the trails I remember one time I had to carry my oldest daughter she got wore out about have way through that was a while back I believe she was around 6 or 7 and she's now 41 oh yeah the memories ❤
What great memories! We absolutely love visiting this park, especially in Winter so we can do all the hiking. We had to carry the dogs at the ladders and other places haha very interesting to do
@@WanderingWagners We will be there during the week so maybe not as crazy as the weekend. Turkey Run looked so deserted compared to when we were there!
This park is really nice. i can see why you like this one. The dogs really enjoyed their time there. Pre cardiac issues, I would have a Ribeye cooked medium. Now it's turkey, chicken or fish. Nice job.
I use to cut class with friends and go to the rock house at Hocking hills back in 1976 with some Carlsberg Elephant beer 12.0 percent good times.😛 What do you think about the Earthroamer's new $1.5 mill luxury overland rig or the extreme class C?👍
I live in Illinois, but this is Indiana. I'm 54 yrs old and my class and many, many years before me . Spent the day after prom here canoeing. There is the Cover Bridge Festival in October there, too. Kinda funny that people are just finding this place.
I hope that after your video, more people experience it there. There's a peacefulness there. Southern Illinois has many beautiful places like this and better, too. There are small towns with little population in them. However, they are something to see to. I just happened to catch this video, and it's definitely a blast for me . I'm going to share it with my small town. I'm sure they will all see it as a lot of good old memories.
Turkey Run is still our favorite state parks that we've hiked at to date! Both times we have been here have been amazing! We've only been here in the Winter, but that's because we like to hike in peace (less people) HAHA
It's a blend I use on meats and veggies on the grill! I went over the recipe here if you're interested😁 My (Not So Secret) Grilling/BBQ Spray Recipe! ru-vid.com3HzWs59zmEg?feature=share
I like my steak at medium well. But I also like to marinade my steak. 1.) McCormicks Burbon and Brown Sugar marinade. 2.) 1/4 cup olive oil 3.) 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 4.) 1/2 cup Jack Daniel's. I marinate for no less than 48 -72 hrs before putting them on the grill. I use Jack Daniel's Fireball Jim Beam whatever you want. Next time I might do Rum.
Medium rare if ordering at a restaurant, medium if I'm at home. When it sits at the pass for to long then it comes out over done, so I order it a little less done than I like.
.I saw that look Lynn when Mike said there was a special video next time....I wish I was there with you guys but next time for sure. Have fun! (and medium for me)
The wife and I try to get too Turkey Run, at least four times a year, try to take in the four season, it's very beautiful and fun to hike the trails and canoe down sugar creek during summer months, it's only 60 miles from our house. Great video, did you go to nature center during your visit, it worth a checking out if you haven't already.
We haven't been in the nature center because we are there with the dogs and they aren't allowed inside. We wish there was more snow but this year is a dud so far for decent snowfall but we loved that it was snowing during our hike one of the days! Love it here
We wish there was more snow this Winter because this park gets prettier with a blanket of snow❄️ we LOVE Winter camping! Thank you for the comment, we really appreciate it!😁👏🏻

There's more hiking and camping about a half hour from Turkey Run. It's called Shades State Park. It's much smaller than Turkey Run but the hiking can be more challenging and some trails cannot be tranversed by the dogs, you will need to climb ladders. I haven't been to either in quite some time. There are rattlesnakes in the area but they seem to stay away from hikers. Just pay attention.
We've been to shades but didn't get to explore the way we wanted at the time so we've been meaning to get back ever since! Last time we were at turkey run we were able to get around the ladders by climbing up and around it (looked like several others have done the same). We saw a rattlesnake at Brown county few years back too! Just another reason why Winter camping and hiking is better😂
Awesome video. Winter camping is awesome. We have just purchased a 2022 Jeep Gladiator and looking forward to getting out and enjoying the winter weather. Camping maybe? Who knows. So enjoy your videos. I worked in coal mines for over 20 years and man that brought back memories.
@Wandering Wagners last time I asked for medium rare it looked like they pulled they steak straight out of the package and put it on my plate 😑 blah!!! Never again lol
Here's a link to a short where I went over the ingredients! My (Not So Secret) Grilling/BBQ Spray Recipe! ru-vid.com3HzWs59zmEg?feature=share I use it on everything
Wow! You guys surely didn't let the trail end when the trees blocked your pathetic. Mike surely had to work twice as hard carrying Guy. It would be neat if you re-vistited the park, after they clean up some of the trails.
We don't let much stop us when it comes to hiking😁🥾 This video shows it in tact without storm damage if you're interested The Best Indiana Hiking! (Turkey Run State Park) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ip6FOXpxCOw.html
I call Major BS. You can't just say. "And.... my grill spray." Without disclosing the recipe. Total BS. There should be channel outrage over this. 🤣🤣 Medium.
