Envy is real on RU-vid , what you said here on RU-vid is so true . In my case it’s been mostly positive but sometimes you get that one troll who can get inside your head . I always kill them with kindness though because it’s not worth my time to give them that time . The main focus for a RU-vidr is to create content and have fun doing it and all the other cards will fall into place . Great video friend !
It really is! It’s so easy to fall prey to the less than 1% of people who don’t like us rather than focusing on the 99% of people who enjoy what we do. Keeping that focus on the positive is everything.
I know exactly who you are talking about. I seen the video where he says your name. I’m all for people being able to speak their mind. Unfortunately this guy is a vile human being who does think he is smarter than everyone else. I’ve been biting my tongue on making a video about this guy, but my wife keeps talking me out of it. He hasn’t mentioned me by name yet (though I’m sure it’s coming since I make positive Evercade videos). Thanks for this video. I’m glad I’m not the only one to feel this way.
It’s crazy how badly he lied about me too , but I think lying and concern trolling is his whole con . I’ve never banned someone for a “counting pixels” I banned him for circumventing a ban , which he kind of ironically, low-key admits in his video. Yeah I had a couple people talk me out of making a video about him. People like him are crabs in a bucket, and the worst thing you can do is publicly acknowledge people like him . It’s so incredibly bizarre that he hate buys this stuff just for attention. The dude should just go buy a MiSTer and he’d be a lot happier, instead, he trolls for attention. And the way he attacks people is just overflowing with arrogance. I’m honestly not real sure why his videos are even popping up on my feed. I’m thinking it’s because he tags other creators who I also follow (like you, NSG, CrazyBurger, and GenXGrownUp). His arrogance really eats at me though. If one doesn’t think the exact way he does, they are wrong. It’s so annoying.

I had a mental breakdown last year and let people on the platform get to me, which resulted in my decision to quit the channel and deleted all of my videos. I almost immediately regretted it, as I had poured so many hours and passion into those videos. I would get occasional negative comments, which weren’t constructive, but just being a douche. Most of the time I got frustrated with so few views and short attention spans. At the end of the day, I didn’t have a clear and realistic plan for my channel and should have treated it like you mention, as a way to balance a busy life and making content that you want to make - makes you happy. I loved this video, and needed to hear it. I don’t want anyone to make the choice I did last year, don’t let people get to you and just post whatever brings you joy. If it doesn’t resonate with others, who cares? There are people out there who will love it one day, but just haven’t seen it. With 8 billion people on this planet, more than a few will appreciate what you do.

Hey, keep doing what you're doing man! I dig your content. Sounds like we had fairly similar childhood. I grew up in rural Maine, and had a rinky-dink video store as well. But not as small as a gas station. That takes small town America to a whole 'nother level! Yeah, it wasn't RU-vid which gave me the mental breakdown, but rather everything else going on in life, and the negative comments or lack of views was the icing on the cake. RU-vid recommendations is part of the problem and you don't even need to subscribe or even Like a video. You only need to view something once and it will spam more of the same and more from the same creator including new videos just uploaded. So like it or not it's put on a plate. I saw that post... They obviously had the Christmas blues and the topic more than likely sparked a few demons, it's always best to tell them that the best cure is to watch back to back episodes of My Little Pony. 🐎💗💗💗💗 It was our generation that gave birth to the term Gamer so being accused of looking like one was wtf? Yeah, RU-vid recommendations can be a real problem sometimes. I was looking at the RU-vid research tab on studio and it recommended a video where a person was saying disparaging things about me 🤣. The algorithm doesn’t understand people all the time. Oh yeah, the hat guy gamer guy , I almost forgot about him😂. Sadly, that was one of the more tame things that happened towards the end of the year here. People are wild.
or you just do like some channels do, shadow ban anyone that isnt saying "great video" as a comment and may have questions or criticisms lol. Some people are in echo chambers anymore in the community and you arent allowed to think or speak in a certain way or your a "troll". You shouldn’t trust any RU-vidr, no matter how they got a product. I watch these things for entertainment purposes. If I didn’t have interest in buying something, I wouldn’t be watching a video about it. I feel it’s my personal responsibility to filter through their biases if I’m interested in something or not. That’s the key to not being disappointed all the time.

I'm happy to say that the majority of my comments are usually positive. But doing this for over 5 years, I've definitely had my fair share. People underestimate the power of saying "ok" or nothing at all and just leaving it at that. Really works!
I don't get a lot of comments on my videos. Most of the ones I do get are nice. When I get one from someone who wants to be angry, I just respond with "okay."

I've seen several videos of people who've called you out. And they're very salty lol. They don't think you're critical enough of Evercade. It just made me laugh because it's like you said you've gotta be tough.
They really are. It’s bizarre how worked up they are about old video games. The irony is I’ve had a number of people over the years get worked up about some of my critical opinions about Evercade products. If you ask some people, everyone is either a shill or hater, there is just no in between with some of these folks. It’s really sad.

You do have to be tough. Some comments and people can sap your motivations. Unhinged people can break your spirit if you let them. Don't let them. We hate camera work and enjoy editing and research a lot more
Good thoughts, PK! I really like the comment about discerning. You and I won't agree on everything, but we can treat each other with respect. If someone comes along and treats you like junk or wants to get under your skin, there is no prerogative saying that you have to drop everything and focus on their statements above someone who is giving you constructive feedback. Not every statement people make on RU-vid is of the same value, and some are just plain trashy. I think it is indeed necessary to try to discern the difference between the two and focus on what your goals are for your channel and go toward achieving them. You are the only one making content for your channel. Focusing on the jerks takes away your valuable time and gives you nothing of benefit in return.
