You're bold. And you have all the tricks. Running your hand down the fish's body to find where to aim! That's called resourcefulness. I hate putting my hand in their mouth, too. I got my finger crunched by a dead one one time when I was pushing it back down out of my face as it floated up on my safety stop. Ouch! I heard the crunch in my ears when he bit down
It’s good to see you back in action! I know that hurricane screwed up the gulf for a bit. When you pulled that flashlight out!😫 time to get new batteries or upgrade! I love to hear the boat banter! We need more stories! Thanks for the adventure.
@@billythekid8488 let me educate you. He and his crew are commercial spear fishing. They provide fish to all the local markets and restaurants. I’m sure your “man” enough to dive to 200+ feet on 1 breath of air, so start a channel and I will watch your adventures as well. Until then let the professionals entertain us land dwellers!
This animal ! Makes this shit looks easy bro!!!! If people only knew how much experience and work it takes to be that efficient and effective down there mad props bro !!!!!
Hi Dan... that was a hefty size Carbo for sure. I hope the lull in storm activity continues for the eastern GOM. Thanks for posting and looking forward to watching your future dives!
Mayhem! Good one, Danno! Been waiting ages to see the back up band in action and when the PH came out for the big boy I yelled yes(!) and pumped my fist in the air, ha! First rate entertainment!
Dan, al this watching I brought a battery for my suunto D6 and fitted it just to scroll through the log book...a few 100m > with one i remember 76 m down and then in 40 mts in a cave... Surprised I am still here lol stay safe.
Great video as always! Man, you gotta get a new light. That thing doesn’t work half the time you try it, at least in the videos. Nice Black. Glad you got him! Looking forward to seeing the next video!
He likes that light though because he doesnt have to cycle thru all the settings. Just on and off, but yeah lately seems like its been acting up. Dan gets use out of his gear though, thats for sure
I dont know why but im not getting notifications from youtube that you are posting. I came to your channel to see what was up. It says all notifications are on and i get them from other channels...either way, another awesome dive. I wish one day i can dive with you...ill throw in 4 or 5 hundred...maybe one day we can go. Ron from tampa. Great video
But did y'all look around that area and find more bottom? Usually big grouper dont hang around reef they can get under. Them blacks came from somewhere.....
hey Dan, I use the Rob Allen shafts as well and make my own power heads there's room for improvement on how long it takes me to make them. Do you mind me asking what you use for the pipe and dimensions and what you're using for the inside tubing? I think the inside tubing is what I struggle most with for prep time getting it to fit into the galvanized steel pipe and fitting properly over the 7.5mm shafts.
He has the aluminum blanks made by a local machine shop , and he does the rest . He uses 1/4" air hose which works well for the 7.5mm ( .027 diameter ) shafts .
hi DAN i like you videos i was amazed by the fish you catch and i would like to see more videos from you also please give us shoutout here from philippines the lomanoy spearo
RY, I never have. There's a lot of wrecks off Tampa Bay that are well known but I've never dove any of them. They get a lot of pressure from divers and fishermen so it's unlikely they'd be worth taking the time for us to go there. Once I retire from doing this commercially, I'd love to catch a ride and hit a few of them! Best, Dan
Love your videos Dan! Me and my buddy's were wondering if you go out for the day, or if you spend the night out there. Also, do you have a compressor, or just bring all the tanks you need? Keep the videos coming! 🔫 🐟
If only they would come up with an affordable technology for lots of bottom time and depth without deco (or at least greatly reduced deco)!!! Image it!!! What exactly do you mean by "may as well be on Mars"? Lol
might as well be on Mars was said because it would cost him a huge amount of extra deco time to take that fish . He was not sure but thought he had to get out of there RIGHT NOW , and he was right as he found he had used 11 min when 5 or less bottom time is normal for a dive that deep .
