Try different factions. Often when I see people complain they are bad, they are using a trashy faction just because they like the flavor, but a new faction might surprise you.

i got 500 hours and i am baffled at the lvl of micro legend displays, i thought myself to be decent at the game and even took some cheese strats out of legends book, but every time i see him win some of the most impossible battles with his micro skills , i just throw my hands in the air and say "ok guess im shit, cause i'd never be able to do that."

Total war in general is just the kind of game that takes hundreds of hours to become anything close to good I remember I was closing on the 800th hour (all total war games combined) when I finally understood how to micro cavalry, and how to pick your fights better than just 'cavalry not charge into spearmen'

Legend has been playing total war FOREVER. I think his measure of what it takes to get used to this game is not a regular one. My first game was TWW2. It was incredibly overwhelming. I played the first few campaigns without even an iota of a clue. In fact I found his channel because I started to research how the hell things worked in this game. That's when I fell in love with the series, but his command of the game is just on another level that my love for it won't help me match.

I feel like a lot of people can relate. I certainly can. My first TW game was Rome back when it came out, I’ve played for a little while and never played any TW game till last year. Legend’s videos were a godsend.

I started playing when TWW came out, I got very confused and frustrated and I stopped playing it. Then when I started watching TWW2 content I got a surge of interest total war again, at first I just downloaded TWW and played a little, and it was more fun this time. Then I found a really cheap steam key for TWW2, played the high elves(becasue I heard somewhere that they're good for newbies), and after about 100 hours on the vortex campaign I finally beat my first campaign for a total war game. And I had really fun doing it. Then I played as the lizardmen and had even more fun. Both of those campaigns were nowhere near as smooth as legend's campaigns, but it's fine, because it's fun. This game is hard. Like really hard. It's one of those games where I think you should start of on "easy". And where you really should look up beforehand on forums and whatnot what race is beginner friendly. And maybe watch some gameplay and tutorials too.

My first 100 hours was playing as vampire coast with no clue of what to do. Just starting and losing countless campaigns in normal. I have 1800 hours now. Its insane thinking just how much time consuming this game is.

@rumplstiltztinkerstein I started playing in the last month. About 80 hours into mostly vamp coast, 40 a mix of a few others with my buddy. No other game has given me such a sense of time compression. I feel like I'm the equivalent of 10 hours into a normal games skill curve 😂

Everyone acting like 340 hours is a lot in a game with hundreds of unique units, dozens of unique mechanics, thousands of interactions between each, like 30 playable factions with different quirks and starting areas that give different challenges. 340 is just scratching the surface, anyone that claims to be 'good' by then needs to try a new faction or admit they had hundreds/ thousands of more hours they're not counting from tww1 and tww2

I agree with you there. I do not consider 340 hours to be much in a game like this. In the Warhammer series I have sunk around 7,000 hours and even now I occasionally stumble across something I did not realize was a thing or a new interaction between factions. Then there are the mods that drastically change everything adding even more time. I will say, though, that Janno, another commenter on this channel, is quite correct that after some time you learn what the best stuff is and gravitate to them often hampering the spontaneity of your playthroughs. Or at least, that is a problem I struggle with.

I have found that the fire breath weapon does almost no damage at max range as if it doesn't reach them. But if you fly close to a unit and then use it, it does good damage.

Opposing Kamikaze, my advice would be to pretend normal difficulty has the same limitations as legendary difficulty (in terms of saving). Now, you CAN still ~slightly~ savescum on legendary if you're just scouting and don't get caught in an ambush, so I'd allow yourself that much freedom if you really want, but if you can break out of the habit of savescumming battles, you'll begin to make wiser decisions as you'll remember that rash actions have consequences. That's honestly the best advice I can give as a legendary player myself. Learn to accept when you've made a mistake, and how to not repeat it.

I'm mostly using them as hotkeys to quickly select couple different units requiring some micromanagement during battle, like lord, or cavalry. In Legend's videos it's clear that his APM is quite good, so maybe so far he didn't felt it necessary. :)

@@ATF- it's not about the fps cap. It's about the players hands model. They are npt aligned properly with the camera. When they look right the fov is very low and unplayable. When you set the fov high enough the hands are so far away you can see behind your elbows and it looks very jarring. No other game has this problem, but F4 does and so playing it for more than 20 minutes always gives me a headache.

Bethesda did their usual "absolute bare minimum" effort in both the Fallout4 and Skyrim VR ports. I'm sure you've already looked, but there might be some mods that fix it for you. I was hoping for a psvr2 version of Fallout 4 but with Sonys idiot policies on mods, it might be a lost cause anyways.

In a game on this scale, 340 hours isn't shit. Considering how long a campaign actually takes and how wildly different they can potentially play out, you've barely tapped the keg at that point. Not sure why you'd attempt to "mock" him for simply being honest. I got probably 350 hours in TWW2 and maybe 150 in TWW3 and I still play on normal and don't have any problems with it being "too easy". Not everyone uses every single piece of cheese and every single exploit to maximum advantage ya know.

I’ve got over 1000 hours across all 3 games, and to this day do not understand how the game determines some outcomes. While in the vast majority of cases, the auto resolve says you will lose, all the while the victory is super easy… in other ridiculous instances it just flat out cheats… I’ve surrounded a lone corpse cart with marauders, wolves, and a champion, and it killed them all within a minute or so, despite being weak. I once hit a few units of goblin archers from the rear with an equal number of hellstrider units (scourge), and the goblins near immediately massacred them. I’ve seen a 20 stack of Skaven slaves and slave slingers lay to waste an entire army of infernal guard/ironsworn and chaos dwarf units with artillery, since the slaves will not break. Worst offense is when my entire VC army (which vastly outnumbered the enemy) crumbled in about 10-12 seconds after I hit “start battle”… I had just enough time to issue the first orders. So it’s just hard to gauge sometimes. Sometimes the AI just wants to win and to hell with the actual rules and mechanics.

Its better be „new” in WHTW then „old”. So „only” 340 h is blessing. Becouse of rpg elements its easy to fall in „ best build” in this game to totally optimalization army and heroes… and always is „ i could maybe do something better” and killed spontaniously joy for gaming.

Note to the dude who sent in this save: Zhatan's mounts are quite terrible. Keeping him on foot is generally better. He's a gigachad tank on foot but much, much weaker on a mount. Also, recruit gobbo archers. Zhatan tanks and slows, the gobbo archers volleys a ton of arrows into what he's fighting, everything is great. All that melee gobbo infantry, they're just not that good and they offer no synergy with Zhatan at all.

600h in wh2 and 260h on wh3 and I still feel like a noob most of the time, couldnt handle hard campaign in wh2 so I only play in normal. Don't have too much trouble winning campaigns but I find myself in dissaster battles all the time I sometimes just let the AI autoresolve me when my heroes and lord are immortal instead of bashing my head on the keyboard on some battles, especially against the chorfs, don't know why but chorfs are always phyrric victories or valiant defeats no matter what I try.

Honestly, I was really excited for the chaos dwarfs until I realized how easy blunderbusses made their campaign. Every army was basically a core of the Lord and two to four blunderbusses and some sort of unit to hold the enemy at arm's length and I can beat literally any army out there. It's ridiculous.

Hey Legend love your content! Some constructive criticism: I too get frustrated at how shit some things in TWW 3 can be, specially when they where better in TWW 2, but honestly hearing you complain for half the battle is just not fun. We get it, units cant run down anything, loose formation units are a pain and the units do not follow orders, we don't need to be reminded of that every minute.

In my campaign I found Zhatan to be piss weak on the mount. He's much better on foot unlike the other one with Cinderbreath, he's a beast on his mount
