You're in The Premiere Night of "The Nutcracker" in St. Petersburg | a playlist 

Tchaikovsky thinking that he failed this ballet literally leads to tears because I haven't heard anything better than this in my whole life.

It always breaks my heart how Tchaikovsky died thinking The Nutcracker was an utter failure. Personally, I think critics were way too harsh on him. The Nutcracker is filled with such raw emotion, inspired by his late sister. This suite never fails to give me goosebumps.

Two years ago I got to see the Nutcracker performed by a Russian ballet group and live orchestra.🥰 The best Christmas present ever. 😍

MAN everytime i listen to a playlist of the nutcracker i cannot stop imagining my great grandparents house and whats it like to experience a christmas party there. this is going to be an entire fricking essay to explain why the playlist keep reminding me of their house i went through old dusty photo albums that were hidden away at my house and it was somewhere in the 80s-90s when my mom was really young there were lots of old photos of her with my grandparents and greatgrandparents who are still alive now and gah damn she grew up celebrating really fancy christmas parties. thick persian rugs on mahogany floor and big beautiful chandeliers hanging on the ceilings with golden ornate on the doors, walls, and ceilings and majestic oil paintings and portraits and displays of fine china, large windows with wispy cream curtains and thick light green drapes with the perfect view of the leafless tree while it snows outside and the sky is grey while the hired farmer wearing layers of coats feed the horses in the stables. there were bookshelves full of heavy, old hardcover books and crumpled papers inside them. there wasthe table was long and there was a golden afternoon tea stand in the middle with chocolates and i used to always steal chocolates there before we eat but the food is so good and looks so appetizing and hearty. the men wore suits and the women would wear a buttoned up blazer with pencil skirts or a blouse with pearl necklaces and i would wear old finely made dresses that looked like it was from the victorian era 💀 my greatgrandparents and grandfather are sort of "aristocrats" but are not really well-known but is considered close to one. they have a mansion and own a big vast land and owned horses and forests and there would be a distant view of the faraway town and it looks so good when it's winter. i dont live where they live and grew up in a tropical country but whenever i go visit i want to experience christmas in that house. the photos had my grandma wearing a viridian green suit with a pencil skirt and my grandfather wearing a dark blue suit while my mom wore that dress that looked like it was from the victorian era and the big christmas tree had a lot of nice colorful shiny ornaments and big piles of gifts surround it while there was a big old dollhouse and an old wooden rocking horse nearby and my greatgrandparents wore a fancy attire too and they were sitting beside my mom on a green plush couch with my grandparents standing behind them and there were other photos with other guests in the party drinking wine or chatting and sometimes near the grand staircase. that christmas would look so fancy and i want to experience it so bad whenever i listen to this i keep imagining being there on a christmas night wearing a long plaid skirt and a ruffled long sleeved blouse while waiting for the guests to arrive and making friends with one of the guests teenage children that are my age and make friends with the hired farmers and stable boys and sneak the food at the dark stables lit up with an oil lamp and two stable boys hanging out with the horses and leaning against the hay idk why i still remember daydreaming that imaginary party all the time

As a girl that lives in st Petersburg and goes to see nutcracker almost every winter - I see it as an absolute win

Tchaikovsky was a genius. Wish he could have known how perfect his music for the Nutcracker was. Timeless perfection.

I've got a funny story about the Snowflake Dance and the costumes for this dance. My cousin and me, when we were kids, didn't read a libretto before watching the ballet, so we wondering who are these strange sparkling aliens with the needles in their heads 🤣

This guy definitely very talented. Can’t wait to hear his next premiere

Now I just need my friends and I to dress in Victorian garb and to go to the nearest ballet listening to this in a carriage. Holidays completed XD

ive been planning of getting myself a palace when i get a lot of money when i grow up and invite friends (i have one) to my palace in christmas and make them wear fancy dresses with ruffles, ribbons, laces, etc and the men wearing those coats with golden lining (i forgot what its called) but its the 21st century who am i kidding nobody's going to go to that kinda christmas party

I grew up listening to the music of pyotr effin tchaikovsky. My father loved his music and always played it on his stereo on his off days from work. If there's any truth listening to classical music makes one perform well in school my sister and i are proof. Our 2 older brothers were not as bright as they were more into modern music 😁🤭
