A great recording - made even better with Adrian Rollini's bass sax. Plus I liked Elmer Feldkamp's lead vocal - such a delicate voice but very soulful. A shame he passed at such a young age.

Lyric: eccch, tune: ok, performance and arrangement: outathisworld. Particularly to be noted is how the bass sax is prominent in the ensemble. Lown clearly loved the instrument - at one point the band had two - and had a rhythm bassist, leaving Rollini free to be a 4th sax, 2d trombone or soloist. He's literally 40% of the band on these records.

I loved Adrian Rollini's bass sax - a favourite instrument of mine. He was a really accomplished all-round musician.

@@julianbonser More than people know - piano prodigy at 5, making rolls at 16, and at 18 he he taught himself the bass sax in two weeks.
