I’m a Texan who has supported Chelsea for over 20 years and 100% against PL games being played here. I’ve traveled to London twice to see Chels at the Bridge and there is no way to replicate that here in the states. You can see your favorite premier league team here during a pre season match, don’t disrupt the best sporting competition in the world for a bit more money and to please “fans” who aren’t really fans.

Travelled around the World and met several Fans of various English Football Clubs. They all, without exception had the dream of travelling to the UK to watch a home game at Anfield, Old Trafford and may other Grounds, and one who dreamt of going to as many Grounds as he could watching his Team play. They all wanted their once in their lifetime "pilgrimage". None of them cared about their team playing in their own backyard, in an Athletics Stadium filled with "Soccer" Fans. Money...the rabid obsession with it,will be the downfall of the PL.

As a British NFL fan the games in London have always been unpopular with the fans of the participating teams and the teams themselves, I'd personally much prefer to go and watch a game over there and have an authentic experience rather than watch the annual NFL pop-up shop at Tottenham or Wembley with a dead atmosphere

The Americans keep moving games to different countries to try and grow the very American centred games globally. Football is already a global game and doesn't need that same strategy for Global growth. La Liga trying it in a desperate bit to catch up their global audience to the English game. Keep the English games in England.

Im from England and moved to Canada 28 years ago. Even in this part of north america anyone i would mention football too which they call "soccer" would call it a certain three letter word that starts with g and ends in y. Sure, there are some north americans that love the sport but its very few and far between. Keep football in countries that actually live the sport. Let people from north america watch men play throw and catch while wearing tights, shoulder pads and helmets while slapping eachothers bums every 5 seconds because thats super manly 😂

Wouldn’t want this to happen but Community/Charity shield is the only game I could realistically be okay with being played abroad. It’s a season opener, it’s a competitive game but not a league game and it’s played at a neutral ground. It’s the most suitable game to host abroad. The FA will most likely rebrand it as ‘The FA Super Shield/Cup’, maybe change the format like Spain, having two semi-finals and a final between the winner and runners up of the league and cup or the previous seasons Prem top 4 and market it all over USA.

This should NEVER happen. I'm all for pre-season tours, but not league or cup games, that would be, like you said, the beginning (or maybe even the middle) of the end!

Goldstein nailed it when he said, "Is there not enough money if football already" and he's absolutely right, because that's all it seems to be about these days. Moving PL or CL games to America is just pure greed!!

How has Darren bent managed to keep his job is beyond me. Very good footballer but if I want a useless take on football no matter the subject all I gotta do is tune into this show and listen to the dribble that comes out of his mouth. He just can’t be that bad. Am convinced he told by the boss to just talk nonsense to get a reaction

It's a redundant point, NFL/Baseball teams are franchises and move cities every few years anyway, so a game across the pond is hardly a big deal

There wouldn’t be 40,000 fans chanting at all because that’s not a thing in football in the USA. It’s a totally different experience going to football in USA as opposed to England and Europe.

the closest you have to that are the collegiate sports mainly football. Still does not compare to Europe but it comes the closest. Don't expect anything close to that for NFL games.

All my friends and family, support English football. Me, I'm a Gooner, my brother is Chelsea. Some friends are Liverpool and some are Man.U. This is my truck's license plate.... " ARSNL N5 " my basement is decorated Arsenal. Football is worldwide!!

Sports are luxury entertainment in the US, football in the UK is passionate part of life. Die hard football fans live and fight by their team, no American fan does that.

American here, but premier league matches shouldn’t be played here. But remember half of the premier league is owned by American owners so you have to understand why these owners is pushing for matches to be held in the states

Its detrimental to the owners, the players, and the club. Its the American networks who are pushing for this, they want their companies advertised to a billion people on TV. La liga will do it, they need the money.

Send the USA Everton v Luton town. Or Burnley v Palace. They'll soon get bored of the idea. That's not what they want. They want the top 4 over there.

I spend a lot of time in the U.S. they do seem to be taking a notice in the premier league in the last 5years in particular, the coverage on USA network is second to none. If La Liga want matches over here, the premier league will want too.

US sports are generally higher scoring, so the better team usually wins, home or away. Not the same in football, and to take away home advantage for the "ĺesser" team may be a game-killer ... or maybe play in the USA when it's the "bigger" team's home match.

I can only see it working in August. College Football and the NFL won't start unitl Sept, so the largest stadiums are available. I can't see it working any other time of the season due to all the potential cup fixtures, both domestic and European. I hate the idea of stealing a home match from people. I'm happy watching on my couch every weekend mornings here in the States

The NBA etc play some games abroad because they want to expand the brand. The PL clubs do that already with pre seaon tours and have the fan base so no need take PL games abroad. Community Shield would be an idea but logistics would be challenge as its played a weekend before the start.

My family has been in south Manchester for as long as we can see back through history logs - centuries. My grandad first attended Maine Road in the 1940s. My dad in the 1970s and me in the 1990s. If City played a “home fixture” outside of the UK in the US, it would genuinely make me feel incredibly sad. I don’t have anything against the US, in fact I have a very positive view of the country and want to take my kids one day, but we are City, of Manchester, England. Apart from one single game 15 years ago, when there was a problem with our stadium and we had to play a game at Barnsley, our home games have ALWAYS been in Manchester. Moving them for the corporate greed of the Premier League, because another country has thrown money at it, is grotesque. Also, I welcome any American City fans to support the club, nothing against them either!
@campfirefootball

As an American, my personal opinion is I would rather not see PL matches played in the USA. Community Shield, fine, because it's an exhibition match. But league games a largely made special by the environment created in the grounds, and you can feel it even on TV. However, the notion that there are no proper fans in America is just absurd. We have to wake up at 5 in the morning to watch matches on the weekends and will travel across the country to see our teams play once in a preseason game. So the idea that people in the US don't understand the game and love it is patently false.
