I can't understand why a warranted police officer is taking orders from the hotel security staff, they do not have the power to close a road or public footpath to creat a sterile area, to grovel to wealthy people.

Interesting the copper kept saying "They've asked us, this is a sterile area." By "They've" does he meant hotel management? Surely they have no right to do this to a public street, coronation or not? I would have thought the only people with the necessary authority would be either the Home Office or the office of the London Mayor..?
