My beloved Grandpa, Norm Post, has passed away. He was buried today in Rednersville Ontario. He would've been happy to know all of you who've commented that you enjoy the music. :)
Norms mom was my grandmothers sister! My grandmother was Victoria Post. I have my grandma and grandpa's picture and great grandma and grandpa Post on the farm near Belleville! Exciting! Diana. I also have all the albums given to me by my Aunt Mazie Norms first cousin.
I'm a DJ here in Atlantic Canada & host a Sunday morning gospel program of classic country & bluegrass. I have 1 LP The Family Bible, not really good enough for air play. I know The Singing Post Family toured across Canada three times & were very popular here in Atlantic Canada. I have the 3 solo CD's Norm recorded but i am wondering if any of their gospel material was ever released on CD & if you might be able to point me in the right direction if any are available. They were an exceptionally talented family. I hope to hear from you. Peter
Looked forward to seeing the Post family every August at the Rockhound Gemboree here in Bancroft. Went to see them a few years back when they returned for a get together at the Legion here in Bancroft. Bought Joanne's Dvd. Love that song Our Jeanie's afraid of the Dark. One year we had a situation going on, so we caked on the make up and went anyways, lol, and they sang a song about that very situation . lol
When l was 1974, saw them from front row, as enjoy them,as my dad had them on 8 track player in car,wish could get more from Lp record,enjoy them so much,s, ,as l was in Manitouwadge,in Northern Ontario, back then, were you ever on TV, what show as love to a rerun pleas,s God bless you alway,s
That's my grandfather (Norm), uncle (Ken), my aunt (Debbie) & my mother (Joanne)! Their vinyl is exceedingly rare to find, but if anyone wants a cd lemme know
apparently my mom went to school with one of them , she has an actual record and I grew up listening to them, I LOVE them, just took me down memory lane
carole pilote I have also been looking for Joanne Post singing Jeanie's Afraid Of The Dark. Can't find it anywhere album, cd , or cassette. My daughter found someone selling CD's on line but not the particular album I'm looking for.
