Honestly this is nowhere near as complicated as a lot of other optimal damage strategies the game has had. Try looking at all the shit that's involved with the Prismatic Hunter grapple melee boss DPS strat. THAT is fucking complicated as hell and requires like 8 different buff sources stacking if not more. You literally use tether on the boss AND adds to trigger stylish executioner and make you invis on a delay after shooting a 1-2 punch shotgun at the boss and then grappling. Needing to gain invis in the split second during grapple before you use the grapple melee, off of shared damage from the shotgun shot on the boss through tether killing an add. And of course people are losing their minds because this lets Hunter do some absolutely bullshit 2-3mil damage in a single melee BUT it's absolutely insane to set up and only works on a VERY limited number of specific bosses. Hell some of the quickswap DPS strats in general are considerably more complicated. This one isn't even tight on timing like those are. Let alone the quickswap strats that you needed to mash button combos for to animation cancel shit.

Euphony (raid special linear) is a good alternative to goldy stillhunt hunter, only problem is on titan is you will build up stacks slower than warlock due to warlock's access to needlestorm and threadling grenades on prismatic.

You have to keep in mind that we have surges in raids and dungeons now. Still Hunt is the best option for Solar Surge still, unless you have Euphony and it's also strand surge. Izanagi's unfortunately kind of just sucks due to being Kinetic and being unable to get the +25% bonus at all due to the lack of Overcharged Weapons modifier in these activities. That on top of the loss of 15% bonus damage to bosses on Kinetic weapons is a BIG blow to it's viability in this content. Cloud Strike however is still a great option particularly for Arc Surge...which otherwise frankly doesn't have a lot of good options. It is however worth noting that Cloud Strike can be slightly awkward with the constant need to dodge during the Witness fight. You really don't want to be locked in on landing the 3 precision shots in a row if it's going to get you killed. That's the really strong part of Still Hunt; you just need 6 precision shots, the timing between those shots doesn't matter.

Warlocks has one of the best overall damage rotation atm. The new heavy trace smacks on all classes. Wym?

@@pioneershark2230 Strand titan was allowed to literally solo raid bosses for two entire seasons and not one of you ever said a goddamn word. You're mad because hunter is doing good damage with something using its explicitly intended design, not because it's "too strong and deserves a nerf"

Probably better to run Magnetic Grenade with the Weaken fragment since Withering Blade comes with two charges.

@@ForeverLaxx with transcendence you'll constantly solo reapply the 15% debuff with smoke bomb, it's a must

@@gabrielshuz Higher uptime on Radiant is more important as the damage boost is higher. The weaken duration of Smoke Bomb is extremely short.

Yes. But, at the same time, completing this quest was a requirement to launch Day-1. So, Bungie was basically giving away the weapon for DPS for free.

Song has trouble coming up in time for the second phase. Beyond that, 32 seconds of free radiant is really nice, and the regen/reduction on Well are sufficient to stand and tank beams (assuming you're FPS capped and have the relevant resist mods). Song of Flame is probably better in a lot of encounters but ironically enough Well remains the superior option for the final boss of the expansion that killed it.

It’s only this good on hunters with celestial unfortunately. When not on celestial it does roughly the same as izanagi but it just takes longer

Frankly they need to do like...a 2-300% nerf probably and it'd still be strong on Hunter. Nighthawk provides a ~550% damage buff to the single GG shot damage on Still Hunt while also combining all 3 shots into 1 for faster DPS to begin with. JUST making it deal all 3 shots worth of damage at the same time would still be a decent DPS increase on Hunter and any damage boost beyond that is basically gravy. I think if it only gave 350-400% damage boost it'd still be very strong but not quite as broken. Honestly they COULD make Still Hunt not benefit from traditional weapon damage buffs like surge mods on boots but that'd impact Warlocks and Titans too. Unfortunately I see Bungie doing something stupid like making Still Hunt take more orbs or precision hits to charge the super mode if you're using Celestial which would just make it garbage. Though honestly fully charging the super mode in 6 precision HITS and not requiring kills at all might generally be too strong. The problem is it's really just not OP on other classes. It IS worth noting that Euphany is similar levels of broken, particularly when playing strand for the bonus threadling damage and even more so when played on a Warlock that can create a ton of threadlings instantly to start DPS as well. It's just that very few people have Euphany since it's the brand new RNG raid exotic compared to Still Hunt being given to literally everyone in a mandatory post-campaign quest before you can even run the raid. If anything for raids Euphany might be MORE broken since we have strand surge 50% of the time while solar surge is only 33% of the time.

@@Luteloots celestial still hunt should still do more dmg then the 3 combined shots (enough so it’s still the best on hunter) You could also argue that the issue is you can double celestial. Not still hunt itself. But the healthy thing to do is to just make celestial still hunt do less (more than other classes can do with still hunt. Combine all the shots and then add a bit more.) but not have a overbearing number Euphany.. as a heavy weapon would be fine. But it’s more healthy than still hunt because you need to build into it to milk the damage. Still hunt only needs celestial and surges to get the most out of it.
