No, it’s more complicated than a G and D chord. Listen again. Watch the intro to the music video too, you can see Malcolm playing his part higher on the neck. I searched through every concert to figure out the intro. Unfortunately, they did not do the intro until about 1990. The music video is the best source for what Malcolm played even though it’s not live. I noticed there’s something trickier going on because of that weird note Mal hits. It’s actually really loud on the original recording too
