I did the same and still using both. The samsung is epic but the iPhone is still a damn good phone! To the point where I still think the iPhone takes better pictures.
The iPhone isn’t just a phone anymore, it’s a camera that’s a phone also and I think that’s the biggest selling factor for me. If you don’t care about photos, get a S24 Ultra if you care about photos like me get a iPhone 15 Pro Max like me. Both are USB C now, so it even matters less to me and Apple hit a home run with the 15 Pro Max tbh
This is what the comment section is all about. A month with the s24 ultra and it is a super rad phone but the photos just don't cut it. It's definitely lacking depth and that iPhone magic. To the 15 pro Max we go. 😎
Just migrated from an iPhone 14 Pro Max to a S24 Ultra. Also moved from Apple Watch Ultra to Garmin. I still have a MacBook, Mac Mini, iPad Pro, iPad mini, AirPods, Apple TV, HomePods, Tags etc. I have purchased Apple for years but recently I have become increasingly frustrated with stuff not working as intended. Loving the Ultra.
That’s where I am. I have both apple phone and Apple Watch and when I switch I use a Garmin with the S24U. And I also have a Mac and iPad like you. Just hard to swap sides lol
Help, why does my s24 ultra at times , is not as smooth when scrolling?? As if its not using 120hz.. take note i am using 120hz, but there are times I feel like scrolling is a bit sticky or lag.. is it that the refreah rate is at times going down?
@@FrancisSyCoCo are you sure you dont turn on battery saver by mistake or have a setting that triggers nattery saver on certain percent? Cause that drops down rr to 60
Just got my grey ultra.. this video is the first im watching on it after i was messing around with some setups, data transfer, etc.. im happy and looking forward to discover what this absolute beaut is capable of..😊 great vid 🙃
I switched to Samsung last year with the 23 Ultra. I won’t be going back to iPhone anytime soon. The photo editing features that use AI to generate objects or people that were deleted is amazing. I’ve used googles magic eraser and get a smudgy result that looks like I hit it with a paintbrush. Samsung really did something special with their AI and photos.
@@TerraThinkthe exynos needs tons more energy for same task.. snapdragon 8 gen 3 is the best mobile processor out there.. also my s22 ultra is broke since the update it keeps rebooting on random times.. i got the 8gb and 128 gb storage version and i just bought mit s24 yesterday for abt 970 euro on ebay
I currently have the S22 Ultra. Lately my complaints have been the draining battery life and performance dragging. I'm looking at the S24 plus and the S24 ultra. But I'm a details researcher and my brain is smoking.
Not easy to recommend this phone without sounding like an ad. I have both iPhone 15 Pro Max and S24U. The iPhone now is just strictly for calls and work emails. Find myself using the S24U for media, entertainment, and gaming. Attach a Gamesir G8 and it's a perfect mobile setup. Runs Warzone flawlessly.
So, I bought a S24 Ultra. Very happy with it ... for the first 2 months. Some update occurred 2 weeks ago and the next day I plug my phone in to charge and I get "Moisture detected bla bla bla". I tried all the fixes the internet suggested, and nothing worked. I am currently on an international trip for a few months, and I took the phone into a Saumsung center in the county I am currently working in. Apparently, something wrong with the USB port. On top of that since I did not purchase the phone in the country I am in, the center agent says that they will have to order the part from overseas as it differs to what they use in their S24U... Oh and the warranty is not international (I should have done my homework to be honest). So to sum up: Part differs from my own country, warranty is NOT international (This is something I will need to add to my must haves as I spend months away from home). Pity as the phone is now lying on a shelf and I miss the features that I used on a daily basis.
I went to an air show with my brother in law, he was rocking the S23 ultra and i had the iPhone 15 pro max…. We were taking photos and video both and where as i think i just had a slight edge to the video quality, the photos and zoom on his phone really shone through massively….. I suppose the only reason I didn’t swap is id only just bought the iPhone and am immersed into the Apple eco system which i find do good at its interconnectability and see less transfer from one device to the next… i am however really impressed by the Dex features
@tauschwarzbart2728 so far it's been great! The camera is amazing and all the extra office apps pretty much eliminate my need to cart my laptop around definitely happy I bought it 🥰
Videos like these have convinced me that it's worth the upgrade, im coming from the s22+, and I've been dragging it out for months always changing my mind on whether to stay with the plus model which would be exynos or go for the s24 ultra.
I been doing the same thing. I have the s23+ i been thinking about get the s24 ultra but trying to wait till the s25 ultra comes out in jan or feb next year
@DevonneTinnon if I knew then what I know now, I would have waited and not got the s24 ultra. Battery life for me is average, i end the day with about 20% if i game and 30% if i dont base on a 16hr day from taking it off charge to going to bed, i was averaging the same battery on my s22+ and the phone runs just as well as my s22 plus did. You can notice the screen is much brighter, and the build quality is up there with the best of them. But I find the phone to be underwhelming with a few small gimmicks.
I've had mine since they came out. And while overall I love the features of this phone, I have experienced multiple problems that I never experienced on my S23U. First, the phone keeps coming on in my pocket and making phone calls. Yes, I have security setup on the phone, so it shouldn't function without my finger print. But it does! It also deleted over 50% of my apps, without any direction from me. Still don't know how this happened, but it did. I've never experienced any of this on any other of my Samsung phones. Many times it also will NOT send a pic in a text or receive one. Again, never before... Most of the features work very well, and I have no complaints about anything other than what I've listed. But those are some seriously annoying things, and I am looking for fixes. Thanks to anyone who can point me to any. I still think it's the best phone on the market right now.
The point with Apple is that they never invents anything that is useful to a user for many years now.. The only thing i like from a Iphone is the FaceID, Apple Pay, Apple carplay, fast CPU and Ram, and the smooth connection between Apple devices, for the rest the Iphone will be forever boring.. Conversely, with the S24 I miss a decent FaceID and a fingerprint that occasionally does not respond well, Google pay and Google wallet could be better, Android auto connection could be better phone vs multimedia, the shape of the S24U could have rounded corners for me, the sports options should be expanded because they are minimal compared to the iPhone. Both phones have their pros and cons...
I ordered a S24 Ultra just to inform myself what going on on the "other side" beeing a longtime iPhone Pro Max User. I was assuming that i probably return it but i just could not. Its so damn good. I did not want to be without it.
I jumped from Apple to Samsung. Gave away my Iphone 13, ipad air m1 and the Watch se. Instead purchased S24 ultra, Macbook Air M1 (Logic pro, Garage band, Da Vinci resolve) and Galaxy fit. The 24 ultra has replaced my iphone as well as the ipad needs quite successfully and never have I ever missed anything from the previous systems post the switch. The S24 Ultra is here to stay for the next 4+ years solid. And to make the jump back to Apple - they would need to convince me by going all in, else, it's Samsung Ultra's for me now onwards. Apple needs to stop being lazy and playing safe instead go back to the basics that Steve Jobs was all about There is nothing out there to beat this behemoth power packed phone. The other best alternate is from Samsung itself - the S23 Ultra. Nothing else
I absolutely loved this video. Great job. I pre-ordered the S24 Ultra, but got the iPhone 15 Pro Max. In February. A few months later… I’m gonna replace my Z Flip 4 with the S24 Ultra. I’ll always have 2 lines. Seeing the S25 Ultra leaks- I’m still into the S24 Ultra. I appreciate youre honesty- and just being real. I’ve had iPhone since 2007. But had the S22 Ultra the last few years- and loved it- upgraded to iPhone again- but I’m missing the world of android already.
@dawntodusk8903 I personally prefer Samsung, but I don't have any bias against either. Samsung is reliable for school work, signing documents (S Pen), and all other work related stuff. I like Apple for the simplicity and the support in the apps ecosystem. Besides, I haven't had an iPhone in 2 years so I miss using an iPhone. Ironically, I use my S23U as my personal phone (for school work as well) and my iPhone for work. 😅
I have both as well and after the initial “newness” wore off of my s24U I found myself reaching for my 15PM most times and it is the phone I carry with me always, especially if I intend on taking pics, the s24U camera can’t touch the iPhones.
Titanium Green arrived yesterday and honestly after Fold3 its hard to be awed and this phone didnt either. Biggest thing I miss is the fingerprint sensor in power button, the in screen one aint great. However.. This phone just feels like the perfect package. Didnt give me the wow factor other than the looks, but this just feels great. Genuinely impressive build quality and I think the software updates promised is icing on the cake.
@@DjPh8mousI would probably wait for an s25 series announcement. They'll definitely have upgrades that people have complained about, and the s24 series would be much cheaper even if you're unimpressed with the new line-up. You wouldn't lose out anything since the s24 series has 7 years of OS and security updates.
I agree 1000 percent. As an huge apple guy since the dawn of time and a huge fan of Steve Jobs. Apples is starting to get stale. For dam sake Siri can't even tell you basic functions. I love my S24 Ultra Orange 🧡 512G. Still mac for life though
Switched to this from the iphone 14 pro max. I got a nice $1k discount with a trade in plus a galaxy watch 5 pro for free! I wasn't really expecting much of it, but almost everything about it just blew me away! I'm still keeping my ipad 10 though for all my previous apple purchases and subs
I upgraded and chose the s24 Ultra has there was a $900 open box deal at Best Buy. I really enjoy it and use the stylus more than I thought. With a tripod, you can really do some cool photos with it as a remote trigger. The screen is just SO PRETTY too. I plan on getting a usb c portable monitor and use it for my office work.
How is the camera as of late? I want to buy one, but the camera is extremely important to me. I've tried every Ultra phone since the Note 20 Ultra, and the camera was always a weak point in low light because of Samsung using a slower shutter speed.
Awesome video. I just bought one after watching your video after being a long time apple user. So Samsung should be sending you some free goods in my opinion!! I’m in Australia, used the trade in options you mentioned and saved $1200AU 😁✌️
I have one and the speakers are terrible. Very tinny sounding with no bass. I would assume that most reviewers are using some kind of earbuds so they don't care. The post processing on still photos is also very unpredictable. Often times it over sharpens photos so what you see in the viewer prior to taking the photo isn't what you end up getting when you view it in the gallery. Besides those two things, I'm impressed by the 5x camera for video. That's the main reason I got it and I feel like I got my money's worth from that.
Go to settings and go to "sound quality and effects" then adjust the equalizer to your liking. For me it was simple since I know audio frequencies good, but you might have to play with it for like 30 min and try different things. You are able to get a more bassy full sound out of it by damping the higher frequencies by just a smidgen
I lucked out & jumped on a promotion for my S22 Ultra $800 trade in at my Carrier for the 512g S24 Ultra. Couldn't be happier. Before this Mays update, my battery would drop when doing nothing & now I go to bed at 70% or higher. It's a beast
got mine a couple days ago and my only complaint is the fingerprint sensor. I didn't realize how insanely tiny the actual scan is, takes me like 3 tries to get it read compared to my other ones
the s24 ultra is a piece of jewelry that i just love looking it. I got the yellow and normally i hate the feel of clear cases but im rocking one just so i can stare at this beautiful piece of glass
The back gave me leather vibes. i really wish manufacturers would move away from glass and adopt leather backs, that way they can keep wireless charging while still providing a premium look and feel. Yeah I know it's controversial, but a man can dream.
Great content. I love my s23 ultra. And with the AI, it got added to it. For me, there's no reason to trade up at this time. As for Dex. The only ecosystem you need with the s23 or 24 ultra is a galaxy watch a monitor and a smart TV, which most people already have. Simple. There is no need for a tablet, or computer. Or a laptop, not with Dex. And don't forget if your in a hotel as long as the tv is compatible. You use Dex on it. Just think how much money you save.
I bought the Samsung S 20 ULTRA 4 years ago with 128 gigs, and I honestly loved that phone. I had ZERO issues with it, and if I'm honest, I probably didn't utilize it as much as I could have. But then Samsing said they weren't going to support it anymore of give me any more updates for it, and I have to confess that I felt screwed because I paid a boat load of money for it, and it was still working great. And then my wife decided to buy me the new S 24 ultra with 512 Gigs....and a funny thing happened.....I still used my old phone for the last 6 weeks instead of the new one. Why? It's probably because the screen was bigger and I felt comfortable with it. I don't plan on not using it for a while, and in a few months, I'll head to Thailand and take both phones with me. One to put a Thai Sim card in for local use and the new one for everything else.
I just switched today from iPhone 12 max pro, it can be frustrating learning a new phone but from what I’ve heard from many people it will be well worth it! Also Verizon gave me $1000 off if I traded in my iPhone! I went in asking for the best camera phone especially for low light (city lights at night), since I’m going to Europe later this year, they told me I had to get this one! i have 30 days to try it and exchange if needed, Thanks for the great videos, I will be sure to keep watching!
I bought on the first week. With GB upgrade discount and free Watch 6. It is indeed a very powerful phone. A lot powerful than my 13 Pro. My only negative comments are, screen capture from videos are not as good as older iphones. I use it a lot so it's really a bummer to me. Videos are not as consistent as I expect it to be. Though often at par or even better than any contemporary. Lastly, the social media apps are just much better optimized on iOS, hands down. Besides those factors, this phone is an absolute beast!
I have pre registered then pre ordered this s24 ultra. I paid £1090 for the 1 T model, plus I received a free galaxy watch 6 , a case, and x2 screen protector 😊 Always buy straight away!
I have no idea why Apple has never done the wraparound glass like some android phones do. It’s the same effect as an infinite edge pool - provides some extra screen real estate but appears to be way bigger. Looks so cool.
You can easily buy the regular S24 and get the same power house besides that 5X zoom. I have the Ultra and the regular 24 and interestingly the regular 1X zoom, which we consider the main camera on the phone, is better than the Ultra. My S24 is actually what is in my pocket without putting my trouser down.
I just picked it up off Samsung new for £350 after trading in my 22 ultra, £200 cashback and money I’ll get for selling the free buds 2pro and watch. Crazy deal
My iphone 14 pro broke ... upgrade to this two weeks ago man battery life 🔋 is amazing. I had forgotten how customizable andriod was im loving mine and the camera for family pictures. The s pen works great for family selfies and notes on the go so far best phone i owned.
Appears to be a trend... I also migrated from a iPhone 14 Pro Max to the S24 Ultra. I think Apple's last iPad event and their insane pricing finally got me to try out Samsung's ecosystem (S24 Ultra, S9 Tab Ultra, Galaxy 6 watch, and Buds2 Pro). The plan is to see how things have gone before Apple's iPhone launch event in September.
I recently got it from iphone 11. I have issues with its camera. In bright sunlight it over exposes, night mode has that blue sky i dont like, wish it captures a true night sky. And the high zoom mashes the texts, cant read my address from a gate 70m away. I'll get rid of it if not resolved soon and backbto iphone maybe 15 pro max or wait for 16 line up. 5x portrait is my favorite though
As an American this is simply not true, it depends what device you have. Also, Samsung has the best trade in deals. People do not buy phones as investments. This is a made up narrative like apple is more secure vs android.
Awesome smartphone. Best I've ever used. The Gorilla Armor display glass is amazing. Have dropped it, face down onto tarmac *twice with no case on it* from like 5 feet....not a single scratch anywhere. Screen glare is a non-issue as well.
I've went from the S22 ULTRA to the S24 ULTRA due to storage since I make content, I've went from 512 to 1tb on the S24 ULTRA, I'm glad to have this phone:)
I changed my S21 Ultra on Exynos to an S24 Ultra because my previous phone was broken and not working as well as I wanted it to. I was a bit hesitant about the S24 Ultra at first-too big for me, too pricey. I had planned on buying a tablet later, so I probably didn't need this thing, right? It's the best mobile device I've ever had. I don't need a tablet anymore-I'm perfectly capable of doing my work on my phone when I'm not home. This screen is big enough for reading and watching things. It's like a mini-tablet, but extremely powerful and much more compact. I'm actually thinking about buying just a screen and keyboard for it if I need a bigger screen outside (which is doubtful). It's the first phone I'm comfortable gaming on-comfortable enough to buy a mobile controller because Dead Cells and Stardew Valley feel better on it than on PC for me. I thought about trying smartwatches again, but the S-Pen does enough things for me that I don't think about a watch anymore. I love this device as the most useful mobile thing, really, and it is extremely difficult to recommend without sounding preachy.
You guys make no sense. I had the s21 ultra and traded it for the s24 ultra. The screen is a hair bigger. The device is slightly bigger. IDK where you guys are getting off calling this a "tablet". I also have an s8 ultra and a fold 4. Those are tablets. Not a slab phone. What was there to debate if your old phone was broken? You gonna keep a broken phone and get a tablet instead? How would that fix your PHONE needs?. Just such a weird thought process. Dont need a "watch" anymore because you have an spen? You reealize those are 2 completely different devices right? A watch doesnt write... A spen doesnt track your health and tell time. This is all just so weird....
@@CalculatedShotsI share my own experience, not a universal one. It's just... experiences with technology differ a lot based on usage and needs. I have very small hands, for example, so for me it feels like a mini-tablet. The only phone that felt normal in my hands was the iPhone mini; even the S10e was big enough to be uncomfortable to hold in one hand. My phone was broken because it was dropped on the ground, and the cameras were badly shattered. It also started to switch off whenever it started to heat up. The S21 Ultra was less wide, but the curved sides prevented comfortable use of the S-Pen on the whole surface (at least for me). I don't have this problem with this phone; for me, it feels much bigger because of it. I planned to buy a tablet in addition to a new phone, not instead of one. I just don't need it anymore because, for my tablet needs (shows/RU-vid on the go, reading, manga, writing - with keyboard, working with PDFs, signing documents, work chats and task management, fixing visual mistakes on pictures, making Miro boards, meetings, etc.), this phone is sufficient. I planned to take my phone and tablet if I needed to go somewhere and work there because my work laptop is heavy. Now I can take only my phone and a wireless keyboard and work perfectly fine without needing to take a bigger bag or more weight with me. Are shows prettier on a bigger screen? Yes. Is this screen big enough for these tasks for me, whereas the S21 wasn't? Also yes. Someday I'll buy a tablet for leisure and drawing for fun, but it's not like I need one anymore. A bigger laptop and phone are perfectly sufficient for my "on the go" needs. I used my watch primarily to switch music on the go without having my phone in my hands and to check my vitals during workouts, but the 40mm version was too big for me - I couldn't comfortably sleep or work out with it on, so I couldn't use it all the time. Therefore, this part of its usage wasn't for me. Considering that with the S-Pen, I don't need anything else to switch songs, shows, or videos without touching my phone or having immediate access to it, a watch doesn't make a lot of sense for me anymore. I won't use enough of its abilities to justify having one. It's uncomfortable for me, and the feature I used the most is already built into my phone, so why bother?
Yes, I own s24 ultra a pre-order one. It's crazy phone. But I totally disagree with you on computer things. This will never ever replace windows or MacOs. I think you only use it for writing or trivial tasks, even for writing and editing. It's never comparable to computers. The thing is, I own samsung complete ecosystem, laptop, tablet, and phone. Every one of the has its own use. I hate the idea of all in one.
Just got an S24 Ultra (traded in an old Note10+) and watched this anyway. The Macbook Air comparison is disingenuous, if not a straight up lie, because you have to enable an experimental toggle to run more than 5 apps at a time with DeX and it's not quite as responsive as an Air. I also have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and imo that feels much more premium than the S24 Ultra. Also the anti reflective properties of the new glass on S24 Ultra mutes the colours quite a bit compared to other Samsung phones, even when Vivid mode is enabled & turned up. I think SuperSaf mentioned this in one of his videos but a screen protector fixed the colour problem but then you lose that anti reflective benefit. It's a good phone, but let's not get too carried away
Got it the day it was released however couldn’t transfer music i had purchased on the iPhone over to Samsung. Having spent several 100 pounds in recent years building my music collection i had to send the phone back and go with the 15 pro max. Was really gutted samsung s24 ultra looks so much better in appearance and capability
Thanks for all the great content I alway enjoy watching your Tech reviews and trust you to have an honest opinion! I have had Samsung Notes and Ultras since the Note 5 and have never even wanted to peek into the Walled Garden (but not being a dummy I bought AAPL when they split 7-1). I love the camera experience (wish it came with better Macro) and the pictures are always excellent. I miss the 10x zoom from my S21Ultra and think they made a mistake going with digital over glass on the S24. My S21 was so strong and I enjoyed it so much that I let the S22 and 23 go by but had to have the 24. I traded my 21U and never looked back...except for the 10x zoom.
technology has been getting cheaper throughout the decades despite inflation. I don't think you realize how affordable the s24 is now compared to its predecessors. even the cheapest phone today is infintely cheaper and better then the phones coming out almost 2 decades ago. You can also easily purchase last gen phones for a fraction of the price if you aren't interested in the "latest and greatest"
as someone who owns a macbook, Ipad Air. I'm glad I traded in the 15 pro max for the s24 untra its such an amazing phone especially with seperare audio, split screening, and the spen to pin notes in my screen to remind me what to get done or routes to take when at work and omg the screen outside with the sun is actually amazing to have 😂 im not having to make shade 😭
The 24 ultra is a all round solid phone, but I love the fold 5 but it's a win either way the size was my only problem other than that 10/10 despite the user error that comes with switching from other os systems to android/samsung
I just love the box screen. You lose so much real estate with the rounded corners inside apps and watching media. The rounded corners give off a playskool vibe, but that's just me. Edit: Actually, what i mean is i don't mind rounded corners, but rounded screens are just so pointless, if that makes sense. 😊
Hi Everyday Dad, how's this phone doing in terms of taking pictures of the little ones..a lot of people say samsung camera is not good in taking fast moving objects..is that true?thank you.
I'm agree 100% I have both the s24 ultra and the iPhone 15 pro max and the ultra is an amazing phone but I love the 15 pro max too so for 4 years now I always have the new iPhone and the latest Samsung I don't have computer but now I star using my ultra as a computer too and I love it not need a computer I just need the latest Samsung and be good anyway very good video keep it up bro
Using my Samsung Note 10+ in same way. Not as powerful a processor but otherwise my 12gb ram, and 256gb ssd (base spec in 2019!!) show zero signs of slowing down using video editing software or DeX. Cameras still great for me but i guess the newer S24 has superior pics but mine are still great. Other than that why upgrade? I have an microSD card too with a 500gb card full of media. If i upgrade it will be to a Fold 5 (available now for e1000 new).
S24 ultra is too good But HEYYY !!! WHATS THE BATTERY HEALTH ENGINE ??? 700 cycles ?? 1000 Cycles ?? If samsung can give 7 years of software update Then samsung M U S T provide 1500 to 1600 recharging cycles for battery health... Or else oneplus 12 is much better
I got an s20+ for $100. Not bad. But microphone not as good as an iPhone. I can't record decent cover audios with it. Better to use my iPad or MBA m1. People rarely compare microphone recordings.
I disagree, buying the Samsung s24 early was better for me. Although you can get deals throughout the year. It seems like Samsung offered a great pre-order deal for the S24 Ultra (not sure if this happens every year). While I've heard trade-in values for the S23 Ultra weren't as impressive, I got $600 for my Note 20 Ultra trade-in! This brought the cost of the S24 Ultra down to a very reasonable $599. With all the discounts factored in, along with the free case, screen protector, and Buds Pro 2, my final price came to $726 including California taxes (around 9%).
Took my kid to the park, the anti glare is not that good and the S21 ultra I traded in for it was much brighter! This phone is dim really dim! Like I have to manually turn up the brightness to see great colors! When are we going to get Oled screens on phones!
