Arlene and Dorothy were smart beautiful and classy ladies!

Yes, they were both brilliant, and I suspect each of them had a few choice phrases that could have made a sailor blush. Sadly, Dorothy left us far too early, but Arlene lived well into her 90s.

Arlene, in 1959 (51/52 years old) is one of the most attractive women I’ve seen at any age. She looked so beautiful and that personality; nobody close to that now.

She just oozes sensuality. She had personality and character galore... and the most beautiful shoulders in the business.

"Miss Arlene" was one of a kind. She never got enough credit for how witty she was.

Probably not, though she was reportedly the highest paid of all the panelists on the show, so at least someone recognized her abilities and contributions to the program.

Arlene was a national treasure for sure. And, after hearing about her personal hardships/Bad luck in life it is amazing she was able to stay so positive!

no click bait in THAT title I'll second that emotion Arlene's kindness shines oddly enough, the only thing I know about her husband Martin Gabel is he must've been kind+special -- as evidenced by the fact Arlene Francis married him

You need to add the one where she’s questioning a San Francisco cable car operator. She asks if she would be likely to come for his services, then says “ I think he’d LIKE me to come for them!” Then she asks if fellow panelist Tony Randall would also be liable to come. she asks if she and Tony Randall could come together. Then, when she realizes the services are performed outdoors, she turns to Tony Randall, and says “what can we do together outdoors?”😄😄

Arlene Francis (1907 -- 2001) was Armenian American, her birth name, Arlene Francis Kazanjian. Arlene's dad (Aram Kazanjian) was an Art Student, in France, when her Grandparents were counted among 200,000 Ottoman Christian Armenians slaughtered in the Hamidian Massacres (1894 -- 1896). Arlene was an 8 year old girl, with her parents, in Manhattan, New York, when the century old Armenian Genocide claimed the lives of 1,500,000 Armenians.

05/15/24: At the very start, you MUST annotate what happened before the exchange took place. Otherwise, the point of Arlene's insinuation ("are you thinking...") is completely LOST. As is, it's IMPOSSIBLE to understand why she said what she said, and why her genial retort was amusing.
