@@DrCruel So I have watched a bit of Doctor Who but I am no expert and I certainly can’t rate different doctors versus other doctors. I have heard there has been a bit of a backlash towards the recent female doctor, not because she was a woman, but because she seemed to show her worth at the expense of men. We suffer from the same thing in the states from all of these reboots with women because they aren’t creating unique stories and characters, it just seems like a gender swap for money and social justice clout. How did you feel about the new doctor being a woman? Because I agree with everyone else on here, I wish this actress was the new Doctor Who, she’s a genius.

I forget which actor it was, but he said he treated auditions like a job. He's already got the job, and the job is to do the acting for the audition, just for that one day. This removes a lot of the pressure because you don't feel like you're trying out, but that you've got a job and are just trying to work out how best to do it. That makes sense to me. Expect not to be offered anything and just treat it like you got a 1 day gig.

The part she says about auditions is so true... You will fail a lot of readings for parts and you can't let it get to you. If you are able though, it's really cool to see other people audition, if you have a chance... Some people are REALLY good and you can learn a lot from people who are more experienced than you. I have seen some people completely transform the way they talk and act in auditions and it's really inspiring. You can pick up traits of how to be a better actor from other actors--especially voice actors... It's so weird how they can convey so much just by how they talk for the specific part.

Her ability to do the 👁👄👁 face while playing Philomena is a huge part of why I think it works. The earnestness of the delivery and her facial expressions. Diane Morgan is brilliant!

Great advice! This applies outside of acting too, you'll always be embarrassed and stressed about stuff like interviews/dealing with clients/etc, but just keep doing it and you'll get used to it and it becomes less personal. Also the school thing, it might be useful to be professionally trained, but if you don't explore your field by yourself, you won't stand out as much, and in my opinion you enjoy it less. In short, personalize your learning and growth journey, and don't take dealing with other people in your line of work too seriously, keep your focus on improving your craft instead.

She is honestly one of the most stand-out comedians in this era. She plays Phelomena so well. Im not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that she's is (only) known as Phelomena (because people might assume that she's good-for-nothing, except that persona) but she has made Phelomena Cunk so uniquely popular, and for me; that's an insane accomplishment especially considering how widely utilized social medias are nowadays, in which people can be famous so easily by just doing some random acts. But for Phelomena- she has become an icon.
