Doc Kaywood, Dent Parrot, Jabez Love, the Closson family and David Friday all built tractors along similar lines. They used truck components and fabricated the rest. These tractors did the job required, pulling trailers of produce, lugging 500 gallon sprayers, and pushing and pulling anything else you thought of. Keep in mind the competition, 1020 International 3 mph in hi gear, expensive poppin jonnies, they were none too speedy and the Fordsons. These locally built outfits were just a bit better than a home made doodle bug tractor that utilized a lot used parts the grower had around. The last of these tructor type tractors was delivered to my Dad in 1960. I witnessed the build of this unit. Yeah, we still have it. And the two that Grampa had, and few more that came later for parts, and the Love-Day my brother and I assembled from the parts pile. They all work as they should and maybe bit better than new with 12 volt and dry type air filters, spin ons and electronic ignition. But the new stuff sure is nice with AC , sound systems, and power steering. Dad said that you never NOT greased it. That kept them easy to drive. Thanks.🤗🤗🍒🍒🍒🍒

Beautiful tractor !! I was wondering about the inserts in the fenders, could they be part of a mounting system for limb risers? Seems all the steps they took to protect things from limbs hitting them maybe they thought about 'limb risers', after all it was used in an orchard.....Very nice example of history. Love it....
