Hi mate, noticed you have a T6, I’m looking at buying one, just wondering if the tri axle tows ok with the small 10 inch wheels and 3 axles? Any odd characteristics on the road? Rough riding, jerking etc?
good evening Greg hope your well?? I stumbled across your RU-vid channel couple months ago.. love the channel, I've just got a job as a 3.5ton 24hr recovery driver first time doing the job, I've done all the company training, and loving it, just wondered if you have any advice
I don’t mean to sound negative but that loading angle is shocking with the drop-down board the whole idea of a tilt trailer is low vehicles so no wood should be required, I run the Brian James TT short ramps and tilt, Not found anything lowered it can’t load yet
The tail board is a compromise, as is everything in life. It is quick and very effective for most vehicles on the road. Sports cars will need assistor ramps. The trailer is a class act, no wonder you see so many on the roads doing 10’s of thousands of miles every year.
I don't no if you do this but when I did recovery I got told to always pull manual handbrake on a couple of clicks incase winch cable snapped it slowed the vehicle down when rolling off bed and before putting handbrake fully on put a strap on car so incase it does snap dont get ran over. When we used tow eyes we always had to use a tow eye safety strap around suspenion arm incase tow eye came out and still had it on winch cable another safety tip
Yes I normally do this with bigger stuffs like vans 4x4s , very true and very wise to do! Yeah never really use tow eyes unless it’s something lowered to get initially up the bed etc as you dont want the down force pulling down on eye as it gets closer to the winch etc! Very true very true!
Great vid as always Greg. You missed a trick with the underside of the trailer ramps, when it up.great advertising space!! Question, are you still exempt tacho on recovery?
@Mr GDB Official only trouble is,if you venture outside 100ks,you've got to do manual entries for 28 days.. good old vosa/dvsa,what ever the money making skammers call them thriving selves now...whoops,sorry,thinking out loud again!@
The disco 4 was originally available with a tacho fitted from LR. I know someone had a 4 commercial for his landscaping business and it had the LR fitted one.
