Thank you all so much for 1 million views on this medley!! I'm glad you all are enjoying it! I've got some more VGM remixes coming down the road, (and one from Plok which is out now!) but what else would you all like to see from me? More medleys? More Xenoblade? Let me know! 👇👇
I love how both of 2's specifically have really alarming beginning riffs, and unless you are strong enough stand your ground and engage the fight you'll never hear the main part of the songs
Its more prevalent in 3 than anything else. The longer you stay in the fight the more you hear the flute, until by the end of the fight the flute is the primary instrument. And considering military flautists are used to honor the dead and send them off to a new life, it's a good way of indicating your victory as well as telling your opponent they can finally rest.
I realised while looking at the blade designs next to each other that both the Shulk's monado and Pyra's aegis sword are single sided, but Noah's veiled sword is double sided. the symbolism in this game is crazy.
The Finale is so triumphant. Xenoblade went from a Japan only niche project for MonoliftSoft to a dramatic internationally known Trilogy. What a wild ride. And I’m so excited for the future
Hopefully, a Xenoblade X remake or remaster happens since it's pretty much the only Xenoblade game and Wii U game that hasn't come or has been made for the Switch.
I absolutely love how the design of Noah's sword is a combination of the Monado and the Aegis sword, it really shows how 3 is the culmination of the Xenoblade series and puts the previous 2 mainline games together with themes and aspects
Monolith soft: Ehm so we gonna make another xenoblade game so you know.... Yasunori mitsuda: say no more fam...*pulls out a electric guitar* got you cover
Holy shit. I never expected all three themes to connect that seamlessly. They are all very distinct but together they make this big epic suite of awesome. Thanks for making this!
I think Mio could be more mechanically interesting. There isn't really a character in Smash whose specific goal is to evade attacks. There are campers obviously, but that's not what I mean. Plus it helps balance out the gender ratio (I don't personally care that much but some do so... woo) and Mio isn't another Swordfighter. Get some more weapon variety in there with her Circle Daggers.
Never though before that a flute could work so well on a metal song Also I've never played a Xenoblade game, but might do it as well just for these tracks
Look up some guides, on the gameplay, if you haven’t already. It’s incredibly complicated, and you need to figure out a bunch of weird things the game doesn’t make too obvious, to get past some roadblocks in your journey. Speaking from experience.
Gahhh!!! The flow between the music is just great!!! I can just imagine them all fighting a big unique monster and then them tagging out and their music starts to play in their moments!
I'm noticing so many musical references too! Sometimes I don't even notice for a while but my ears sure do. Love a video on the references once youre done!
X1: “I’m your worst nightmare” 😈 X2: “It’s a mighty foe…, but I can beat him.” X3: “he/she thinks he/shes pokemon gym leader, hahaha, get him/her boys!”
Anyone else think it’s weird that “those who stand against our path” is like the unwanted red-headed stepchild to these three despite being (arguably) more fitting for the UM encounters?
I would love too, but if I'm not mistaken, they're all in different keys and change keys within the songs themselves, which would make it really tough to pull off. Listening to the outros/intros of each one, it sounds like it could work harmonically, but it'd be a bit of a stretch. I'm not opposed to it though, and I'll definitely give it a shot at some point!
10-ton gorilla with a fancy name: *appears from nowhere* Shulk: Looks like we don't have a choice! Rex: Let's show it a thing or three! Noah: If there's no other way, then we go all out!
Technically a medley is just when you play different songs together as one cohesive song. I wouldn't really say this is a medley either because it's pretty much just the songs one playing after another and it doesn't have a new transition added.
Are these all the official versions of this theme? I don't really play Xenoblade series but I remember a more lively (and guitar intensive) version of this ost being used on a boss rush compilation of PSO2, in a video I watched years ago. I'm guessing it could be a cover or something, any ideas of it?
I definitely thought about it, but the full orchestra feel of DE meshes a lot better with 2 and 3 than the rock-centric original. Plus having basically the same song play twice in a row with no structural variation would've felt a tad boring.
@@Mollusc_music_and_memes It's not about the accent. It's about the "You will know our names" being the unique monster theme and how Australia has a wide variety of unique creatures animals/insects etc.
The xenoblade team really just looked at the previous soundtracks and said. "You know what this rock orchestra style we got going on needs more? FLUTES!" And just proceeded to fill the entire soundtrack with them.
Well {Gresures to Off-Seer Flutes} also this amount of Flutes is tame if you want FLUTES listen to Atelier Ayesha's Battle Theme {also Xilaphone} ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aPuaHfnZ9D0.html
Shulk in XC1: "You will know our names!" Rex in XC2: "You will recall our names!" Noah in XC3: "You will know our names! Version 2 flooty tooty Boogaloo" Shulk and Rex in XC3 DLC: "You will REMEMBER OUR NAMES!!!"
The 4 new generation titans: You will know our names Corrin,Me,Joker and Pyra The 4 original titans: You will recall our names Kirby, Mario,Ness, Luigi
im so sad xenoblade 3 has a special song for chain attacks. nothing brings me more joy than starting a chain attack right as the guitar riff kicks in, as time freezes and the music becomes more prominent.
One of the worst design decisions I've seen in a game musically, ever. Like, worse than the constant track shifts in the trial scenes in the Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton game. Absolutely ruins the tension and energy of the fights. "You wanna see what we can REALLY do? Mess up the mood! Yippee!" Yeah, XC1 has the vision theme interrupting the boss music a lot, but at least the vision theme is also a banger
@@drewbabe I disagree hard, chain attack theme is the best. It's really banger so I don't get why you guys hate it, just don't use the chain attack then.
@@drewbabe I think the reason they did it is because it worked very well in XCX. The overdrive theme was just out of this (and that!) world. And yes, even interrupting Uncontrollable
Ok, I just listened to this. And apparently, while I was engrossed in the shrear epicness. I forged a sword, climbed Mt Everest, and killed a Frost Giant.
I think 1 shreds the hardest, but 3 is the most musically interesting. I am so in love with the fake-out at 8:37 into the key change, it's so next level.
The fake out could've made for such a badass accompaniment to a cutscene fight. I'm imagining Y getting ready to take a hit to the chest from Lanz's ouroboros form and as the fake out drops they split and Sena busts his kneecap with the hammer from below.
Key changes in xeno OSTs are undefeated I also always admired the chorus at 7:42. Love how the flutes start out almost melancholic and then join in to form an even richer chorus than the first one 3's OST really has a LOT of 'little somethings' like this
I love how theres always a point to each one that the community at large agrees is "That One Part". 1:04 for Xenoblade Chronicles 3:02/4:40 for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 8:38 for Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
you know it probably has been said a million times already but I can never get enough off the idea that the songs sound dreadful at the start, this shows that you're going against a strong enemy and if you only hear the beginning of the song that means you're probably not strong enough to face it but once you are, the song becomes triumphant to symbolize that you can win against a strong opponent. amazing soundtrack
