He measures our communication with Him by our heart condition, not our vocabulary, not our lack of Hebrew, or our ignorance of a host of other things, albeit it good things. God just wants us to call Him Father from the heart no matter what our language limitations are. There is no command in the NT to use the Hebrews names for God, or Lord, Jesus, Saviour, either by Jesus or by His apostles.

if you both are believers, then Christ already lives within you! He is closer than your lungs...you aren't often aware of them, but sometimes they tell you to slow down, or to take a deep breath, or to cough. Obviously ee dont have a "relationship" with our lungs, but they are alive and working for your good whether or not you are aware!! If you want to be "closer", I think it means you have been walking after the flesh rather than the Spirit...does that make sense? When you recognize that, repent, ask the Spirit for guidance and do the next right thing. Test yourself often...can I ne doing this now in confidence of God's approval? God bless ❤️🙏❤️
