small optimization you can do. second wind doesnt proc off of shields. if you let him hit your first THEN shield the 2nd auto, you get a lot more recovery because poison will properly trigger second wind. dorans shield healing works whether you shield or not. its a great way to min max your healing, as well as making teemo take extra minion aggro (Assuming you went second wind in runes; i dont think you did this game)
as in, as long as second wind has started, it will continuously get refreshed even while shielded? that's pretty interesting actually. regardless, he goes conqueror+sorcery every game pretty much so doesn't apply here
It won't get refreshed while shielded, but it will be ticking while your shield is up, and then when it wears off, the poison will refresh it on its last couple of ticks, leading to more healing overall (because it started ticking sooner) @@shiro5157
@@selmiespotit is, if your confident in play. Teemo is bad rn it dont think you need it also nimbus gives you kill angles, trans more cdr which helps here too amd harder snowballs with resets
Hey Alois, just wanted to write this comment to thank you! Through all the shorts, videos, and courses (even though I've conformed it to adc and not top - the 4 waves and tempo still applies guys!) Ive finally achieved my goal rank this season - Emerald! 86 days left, lets go for diamond!
Thanks for sharing all this! It helped me crush a Lilia & a teemo top the other day. Felt awesome not having such a hard time vs an annoying ranged/fast champion
game was so good alois developed the ability to grow facial hair and change shirt colors at will been binging a bunch of your videos lately and i feel considerably less clueless about this game now
Hey alois i just want to thank you , after watching your minion waves video and macro from your streams i went from gold 1 to diamond 4 + mmr in only less than a month
I already know all the fundamentals, but as a beginner I would totally consider just buying your course on it, because it really teaches you all you need to know about laning and how to expand your lead.
I main teemo and my way would be definietly other runes which I go vs Riven. Aery + more of bush juggling to lose aggro. Then 1st item probably riftmaker. Also exhaust as a rune is great for cockblocking riven. 1 hit of aery gives a lot of free damage and allows you to keep riven on low hp. When she all ins - you got exhaust. Going grasp/nashor doesnt give u much vs champ as riven. You either need to win lane (he couldnt, coz Alois was smart) or scale out, which teemo often does, but not in this setup of items/runes.
^pyto's way is really on point on how to handle Rivens. Personally I go either DH or Aery in that matchup depending on how meme-y I feel/how much dmg I want shrooms to do
Alois, would you mind showing a teemo matchup without being helped? I think alot of your community would be grateful to show what happens in their games. you received two ganks from Noc & Rakan. You spiked early because of this. thanks bud.
He was still hard winning lol. Noc gank didn't do much besides fix his mistake, he wouldn't have been in that position otherwise. Rakan gank is different but again, he was already hard winning before that.
As soon as i see the teemo pick i know its just a game of patience. Winning lane just means going even in CS, which is actually easier to do than winning a normal top matchup. Its just boring, which is why people make the mistakes
As a Nasus player, I just go manaflow + Presence of mind E max dorans ring and poke teemo out of lane before quickly outscaling. It's quite funny seeing ranged top laners lose their minds as they assumed they'd be bullying Nasus, when in fact, Nasus is bullying them. I've also started switching Phase Rush/Fleet Footwork for First Strike, which also helps compensate for the minions I lose due to staying so far back. It's quite a fun little play style I've been cooking up!
Since watching you and getting the 1st course (I have the second) I feel like I understand laning a lot better and am more consistent but holy shit bronze is hell
@@darkgoblin5681 yeah and my mid to late game thinking just isn’t there yet, and I’m waiting to get the laning down pat before I dive into the other course
I don't know if how this teemo did it was right or wrong, but I've never seen a teemo do a 3 wave crash and recall. They always do a 3 wave crash and then poke me under tower to keep me from picking up the farm. And for some reason he can Q me even when I'm behind the tower and still not take tower aggro.
Yeah no problem for Riven who can just build damage and dash onto the enemy top laner, one shot him and the wave. If you're Garen/Trynd/Jax into Teemo/Quinn, gl you need it.
Hey alois, this was a super helpful video! I do want to ask about if the ranged top laner keeps you perma shoved in though. I main shen and I feel like pretty often, they can abuse my lack of wave clear and keep me under my tower all game, which also prevents me from ulting safely. Is the only answer to just pray for ganks or is there a more consistent way to get out of this situation?
when wave crash under turret, your minion will arrive first if you only last hit all minions under turret, ur minions will then group up together (2waves) creating a bounce. You will also get level up timer like Alois when teemo crashed the big wave into riven on the video above since ur turret is helping u auto minions giving you faster clear. shove that slow pushing wave in and get a good recall.
Play off of the bounce and ask for jungle ganks, but junglers never gank top so you just kind of rely on getting good Shen ults in that case. There's a player called xPetu that is a really good Shen player so you could perhaps check out if he has any good tips into certain ranged match ups if you haven't already, he does stream and also uploads to RU-vid semi-frequently. I'd avoid relying on ganks too much and instead finding ways to win your lane by yourself, which isn't possible in every game but I tend to consider teammates playing well an act of charity or God honestly :^) I think Shen is a bit of a special case as he's not super reliant on getting good CS and lane control becuase your ult allows you to make really good plays map-wide which can work to put your team ahead and make up for the lack of resources on your part. Shen is still a very strong laner though.
he takes resolve second vs higher ranked players because they know how to properly space and harass you out of lane so you need the extra sustain since laning phase is most important in high elo
Idk, thanks for the video tough but its not for me as a bronze. Teemo always pushes the waves and then dmg s me when I try to pick CS under tower, I always drop to very low health, he also outranges me from minions when the waves is not on my side. It feels like I cant do anything. He has always tripple CS because i am never able to cs in any situation. I cant stay healthy even under towet to try to all in him in a good spot
the prices on your courses are some next elvel of insanity XDDD, i mean id rather just buy veigar 2 patreon since he has 10 times ur knowledge and experience
As a Quinn player and enjoyer, I am demanding that you take the video away from RU-vid. If it's still watchable in 3 days, you will hear from my lawyer. Just kidding I love your videos! (Quinn mid is better than top anyway)
Why is he calling it"fundamentals????? Dude, this is a fucking video game! All "fundamentals" in a video game is bashing your keyboard until it brokes and thats all. PLS call it "wave managment" or "top early game" or anything else. This "fundamentals" name is so depressing. It indicates that is all basic stuff that everybody should know. And NO FUCKING NO! Only players need to know this, who are spent 1000hours in this game (until u learn all the 168 champs in this game) and want to be better. What u call "fundamentals" is ffucking advanced level at least man. PLS dont call it "fundamentals" like it is a thing that all 5 yo should know.
What a bullshit title. Based on that title I expected to receive a lot of tips on how to deal with ranged champions but received essentially no new information
