I had planted few mango saplings in Naval quarters , Port Blair, Andamans, when I was in 7th std and dad was posted there in 1973. By the time we left there the saplings had grown to a meter and a half in height or so.. Recently after 50 years , just out of curiosity had checked the same Naval quarter in Google Earth and was so thrilled and satisfying to see those four saplings have grown to a large green canopy covering the entire area… no money or material can get the enjoyment you get. It is his Teacher and his grandma who gave us such a noble person.
It's good to be proud of your profession. However, don't miss to pass on these things to your students along with some financial education which our Indian education system never share at the young age. Teach your students the importance of NOT running in the rat race, start investments early in their 20s and stay connected to their roots. Wish you the best.

I was impressed by Peepal baba and started growing trees. In past 2 years, I have planted 12 mango trees, 2 neem tree, 3 avacado tree and few lichee trees. The funny part is that I stay in a rented place and I will not get to eat their fruits as I will move. These trees are part of my duty towards mother Earth.

You can plant a million trees but there are people that are born on earth at the same time as you plant trees to cut them. Thousands of trees are cut in the name of making facilities of metro station in aarey colony that was existing before the environment minister was born. Yet they were cut.
I despise the environment and forestry minister that cut trees. He should be in charge of electrification of all burning ghats in India. Such a horrid man.
We are belong from small state of India… Sikkim…. Where 40%is still cover with forest.. and my mom is one of tribe from Sikkim called Lepcha. We worshipped Nature, and this Gentleman over there is like guardian of Nature . 20 million is not a joke….. I wish you will visit Sikkim and see the beauty of our Naturally blessed state… people are dying because of heatwave, please world just be gentle towards the nature… this is such a precious gift from God.. hope we can see more people taking initiative towards the nature . My Dad was posted in Babina Cantonment (Near Jhansi) we had planted flowers, vegetables, fruits and sugarcane too in our official army housing. It was beautiful and well done. Just remembered old memories while listening to the podcast. Now after retirement my parents have their rooftop garden where they have 126 - pots and grow bags and have planted fruits, veggies and flowers

Listening to this podcast I am reminded of J Krishnamurti. In simple words, LOVE means 'I Understand You'. If in LOVE deficit it is 'You understand me' if in surplus it is otherwise. Who am I? I liked what he said about changing the world- "Nobody's born to change anything"...I realized this is so subtle but true... people who say that they change the world, are actually wanting to change themselves but they express it as changing the world and by trying to do that they do more harm than good to themselves and to the world. We are so miniscule in the cosmos, even thinking about changing anything is sacrilege...being part of the greater change and embracing it is life ..thanks for a beautiful podcast and a beautiful guest with such profound insights.

So don't be jealous of people who are rich ,rather appreciate them.They deserve the lifestyle because they sacrificed alot to create something to make our life easier.
I used to think that love is only thing that matters. And i always opted for that and each and everytime I was disappointed. When you have no money, love doesn’t come.😅 You are so stressed that it creates bitter emotions which is very ugly.

My Grandfather have planted many trees in his life. Not only in our land but to the community and others land as well.. He is not more now but many of his trees are still alive and others have been cut by people for their own good.

Rana ji, Boring is the feeling when a person is so restless that he tries to get ahead of himself. He tries to escape the present by consuming something or by ending in something that make him bond to the present moment. Those who can't just sit down to face the movement calmly feel bored and restless.
After eating each and every fruit, I used to save the seeds and then sow those in the park near my society. What a joy it brought me when a small plant grew out. I used to visit and check its growth from time to time. 😊
