Considering a lot of the 'uneducated' arguments come from the management side, i'm going to say your argument doesn't hold up to scrutiny. A labourer doesn't necessarily lack the cognitive abilities to make a decent argument. It has been consistently shown the higher up you are, the more entitled you feel to bully people.

Insurance policy will be invalidated if they have an accident , the loss adjuster will find this video and see all the Health and Safety breaches , and invalidate the claim . They had better check their small print and clean up their practices . So, when this muppet with the limited Google skills takes photos of his family outside a row of shops or a bar on holiday, do you think he goes in and asks permission of the owners? Of course not, so why can't he apply some very basic critical thinking (that an 8 y/o could, possibly the one he borrowed the hi-vis from) and wind his neck in. BTW, BP doesn't need to ask permission for activity that either doesn't need permission or you don't actually have the authority to grant.

A friend of mine spent £300 on a new fishing rod. And all thee equipment And also included was the licence to fish in fresh water. And he was laughing at myself because I had spent £100 ongoing to a filming Location on a coach overnight stopping in a hotel B&B all included (Harry potter) And I said to him, I wouldn't dream of spending any money on going fishing. But you do Because that what you are into? I'm going to throw a spanner in the works. I have a DJI Mini, about 30 fishing rods, and I've just started drone fishing. The drone carries the lure or baited rig out to sea, I press a release button and the drone drops the rig and returns home. The most I can cast a baited rig is around 180 meters but with the drone I can fly it until I either run out of line or reach the limit of my ability to maintain line of sight to comply with drone law.

BP... next time someone comes up to you to tell you not to record then try telling them as they approach that "if they don't want to be on camera then please walk away" and see if they do. I bet they don't because their tiny brains won't be able to help themselves, and by staying to have a conversation they are also inadvertently giving you permission ! Try it.

this goes higher up than UK law,,,,, ECHR European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms ECHR) is a European treaty in which the human and civil rights of all residents of the member countries are laid down (article 10). allows filming in the public sector, even people in public and in government buildings , everything you can see from public (even if you point into private buildings and sites) you can photo and record it since November 4, 1950, Google Earth (with zoom) google maps, google street view, DRONE LEGISLATION ARISES FROM THIS LAW, cars with a dash cam going by this law
