Welcome back to Lake Effect Garden & Design! If you've been following our RU-vid channel, you’ll remember our Gaslight Lane property project. In this video, we're showcasing the progress of our meadow installation, which began with plugs 2-3 years ago and is now in its second summer.
Join us as we discuss the sorting process these native plants go through in their early years, finding their place and adapting to their environment.
We'll highlight beautiful blooms like the rosined and purple coneflower, and showcase the prairie dropseed and a patch of spotted bea balm, which we think look like little pineapples! We’ll also dive into the design intent behind this meadow, particularly our strategy of using low sweeps of native grasses near the driveway for a calming effect.
Don’t miss this look at how native plantings evolve and thrive over time. Be sure to follow and subscribe for more garden inspiration!
