Terribly mixed and not mastered, I agree. I'd lower the track volume about 3-5db, cut some high mids out of the music, and give the guest's vocal a bit more bite. Let his voice pop out above the lame music track. I'm sure that's way more than Blade HQ would ever put into a video tho. It's just for the views and engagement.
Please get rid of the background music. It’s hard to hear and understand the descriptions and the names of the knives. what was the name of the first Knife shown the one that you can strap to your forearm?
Two things I can say from watching this video: Boker has some really great prices and the background music y’all use is way too loud. I can hardly make out what the owner of boker is saying.
The music in the background is ridiculous but I have other words for it and it ruined the video as you can not hear or understand the explanation of the knives
Boker got the memo. Always had some good designs but I love the new stuff being made in Solingen with materials the competitors are using at great pricing now.
I love the first knife, but the belt is WAY to big to put on your forearm, unless you're the Hulk or somethin. That's crazy. I've seen this guy interviewed twice on these same knives and he says forearm in both but never tries to actually fasten it. My guess is because you can't. The last notch on it would leave way too much room. It would fit someone's thigh better. Why don't they make a smaller belt for it??? Then you could do forearm or leg. If you even did get it fastened and it fit, what do you do with the rest of the extra belt that just hangs out? There's nowhere to run it through to keep it from flopping around. The knife is GREAT, but that's a real problem!
Can someone list the knives here, so we don't have to listen to the horribly mixed sound? The background track is way too hot, too punchy, and overpowers the soft, midrange voice of the guest.
440B is definitely not better than kitchen knife steels. XCr50MoV and VG-10 are widely available on kitchen knives and both are far better than 440B. I agree that there's a market for such steels, but I'm not going to pretend that it's a good steel
I love that kwaiken, and that little fixed blade. The titanium frame lock was nice but I wish it was a tad bigger. The 14C28N frame lock was a winner too.
Get rid of the D2 there is much better steels out there D2 is ancient you don't put new wine and an old wine skin are we getting smarter than a 5th grader yet❤
Not for the price, only a few years ago it was pretty standard to see it in $100+ folders & all you got for those prices was aus 8, 8cr, etc. It also isn't often heat treated well so which company you buy it from really matters (like Ontario Rat 1 D2= trash but Artisan Cutlery D2= legit) You didn't mention what you would replace it with, what's a better budget steel to you?
I bought a Böker final Flick and the edge geometry is a complete disaster. Never again a Böker Magnum with 440A steel. I've tried honing steels, I've worked on it on a whetstone, I've tried a diamond sharpener, you just can't get the thing sharp. And when I did get it sharp, it took three, four, maximum five strokes and the thing was blunt again. I think I know how to sharpen a knife, but I've never experienced this before? What rubbish! 40 euros thrown out the window. I now use the thing as a letter opener😡👎 I have several Böker knives but this was an absolute disaster. I'll never do it again under Böker Plus.
Soon as I saw that looked like a Guy Poggetti. Pretty sure he is French. I have his knife from Editions G think its called the Sanjo that looks pretty similar Reate built that knife
I don't know what they do with the blades in China, but the Böker Magnum series is the worst I've ever seen from a manufacturer in terms of steel and delivery of the blade, as far as the geometry of the cutters is concerned, even the knives for 5 to 10 euros in the supermarket are better
