Actually, that's how Filipinos sing English songs. Even though they can't speak English fluently, when it comes to singing, they will absolutely slay any English song and sound Westernized. That is why the Philippines is deserving of being known as a top country with great singers. Americans just can't do songs in another language like Filipinos can, they can even sing in Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and other known languages.

To me, in my understanding of him making faces if the contestant mention they are from the Philippines is like, he’s saying….”Oh well, from the Philippines, what else should I say? Actually he’s very aware of Filipinos talent when it comes to singing as they had a lot of Filipinos auditioned or finalist in UK. So you may need to update yourself :)
