Those ferns in the tree grove are gorgeous! Rock column has perfect balance. That's what's keeping it in place along with the rock being a continuous piece vertically. Personally, I wouldn't get anywhere near a snake no matter what kind it is. They scare me! Here's where zoom lens come in handy. Ticks scare me, too, although snakes take the prize for that. Thanks for the take-a-long. Made my day. Now I can go work on home projects in Oregon knowing there's a place in PA where rock is admired and respected for the amazing geological feature that it is.
Wearing a bike helmet is a good idea while hiking around this type of rock formations. I live in the Southerntier of New York State. We have many gorges and trails with this type of rock formations. You never know when there will be a rock fall !

Did you ask permission from the owners face to face? That's what I would have done .. It's called respect & would make a good addition to the video, just sayin. Also to have measured the diameter of the narrowest point of the rock would have made it more interesting. A cheap tailors tape measure would have done it.
