@@malangotravels I’m originally from Bloem and my folks still live there. I studied there and still hope to do my masters there Inshallah. It used to be such a beautiful and clean small city but has unfortunately deteriorated in the past 15 - 20 years as it’s the case with many other towns and cities in SA.
As you were exploring Loch Logan waterfront, I thought that you would stand in the middle section of the mall, where you can see the water from there. I also thought that you will be able to catch the Koi pond with the water falling into pond as you go to the shops in the basement area. I am pointing out that area, because that is my favourite spot in the entire mall!

At least in 2011 Bloemfontein, Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu formed Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality.That will bring development into the city and entertainers from the Free State like Dj What What,Masheleng were trying to put it on the map as well.Not forgetting the soapie Greed and Desire and the drama Mangaung.
No you are wrong most buildings and development is in a span of 29 years when south africa became a democratic country in 1994..under white rule there was no investments or development due to the world stopping cash flows under white rule..after 1994 the world opened up due to a black government running the country and democracy for the people.
