I’ve noticed that on some things but there are sometimes random items that have original tags that are way higher than the compare at price. I think they kind of take wild guesses sometimes

Natalie Palmer yeah it could also be per request of the clothing company so people don’t know how much of a deal they’re really getting. Some brands are like that, like Nike can’t be displayed on an end cap at TJ Maxx it has to be mixed in with everything else so it seems like a special find and not something you can always get (which you pretty much can lol)

its because individually customizing hundred and thousands and millions of tags would involve hundreds and thousands of human work hours that would be better spent on literally anything else the items are categorized and priced for sale and the compare at price is for some calculated average NOT the individual items msrp note the labels dont even specify the individual product, it says “cosmetic” or something else vague because its not “too faced lipstick” to a tj maxx its “lipstick $4.99” and as specific as lipstick is Stretching how much the company cares what it is do this and not handcrafting each label makes it so companys like this can sell cheaper while maintaining more profit

I’m not really sure how these stores come up with their “originally” prices. My roommate found Frye boots that were originally between $200-300 and the TJ Maxx tag said “originally $75”. They were priced at $50 so she bought them immediately. 😂

Marshalls and TJaxx had some issues a couple of years back bc they used to raise the suggested retail price...,(if something was supposed to be $45, they would say $60.. so they've lowered it to alleviate more issues with false marketing..

sinny k TJMaxx buys close outs from other stores. They don’t have any of their own brands and you probably won’t find new merchandise. Not that it is completely out of season but the merchandise isn’t bought at the beginning of a season. I did work there for a few years"

Always best to get the stuff locked in the plastic security “jewel cases” if you have the option. Also, pick stock from the back of the stacks. Go when they have the stock carts out and then no one has touched the stuff on them yet.

Sharon Peckham I try to recreate their looks but it NEVER looks as good. I use morphe brushes, a light hand and the same blending methods they use but (I feel like) it never looks as good as theirs. This is always why I do hair and not makeup for a living. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t typically follow a tutorial step by step. I more often take inspiration or use tips, try different techniques I see in videos. I love looking at how people play with different colours and seeing different combinations on other people because it inspires me to try similar things too. I also just enjoy watching it - it’s soothing to me for some reason!

That is why I can't support or follow them. It seems like if you feel a certain way about the product(your honesty), you have to twist your words around to make the feedback positive just to stay on the list. I did have a few of their palettes, but I gave them to my mom. x) I did like the shades, but the quality was not my favorite

All of their brow products are great quality imo, and I loved the modern renaissance palette. but I think Norvina, as a businesswoman, is immature and petty, and too caught up in social media and drama. she claims to not even "know what goes on with PR" when it's sooo fucking obvious that she does. she's like Jaclyn hill, she claims ignorance to situations she clearly has some responsibility for.

It really bugs me that they continue to send PR to people who charge them hundreds of thousands of dollars for a review, yet they punish honest influencers who are trying to give them feedback. Anastasia’s team is ignorant if they think that everyone is going to like every product they release. If someone does, they’re lying. 😂

If I was on any PR list, I would always be honest. I have noticed with some brands, you have to be a "yes man" to have their approval.

I really like just trying to make the look my own! Cause with my eye shape, it's a bit hard to make it look exactly like the way it looks on the makeup artist. So I just make it my own! But it usually cones out either looking awesome, or horrible. Nothing in between! Lol. But I loved this video! Love you Taylor💕 also, when Tati's pallete launches, can you please do a review? Most of the times the 'Actual' Retail price is a lot less, usually half off of the original price. I often feel that the 'original' price is the sale price of the product. The price of the blushes are originally $30, and the palette is $45. So you actually get a better deal than TJ Maxx and Marshall's say you do.

I TRY to follow along with eye looks, but end up looking like I’ve been punched in the face and bruised. I just turned thirty and I was not blessed with the makeup know how. At all. Try to tap it on first let rather than doing swiping motions it set for a few seconds then blend it out you can also put loose powder under your eyes and swipe it off after you get done it’ll wipe of with the powder. It took me years to do eyeshadow 😅

I am so relieved you didn't fall in love with this palette. I had the worst allergic reaction to the Sultry palette. Bumps all over my eyes for about two days. It wasn't fun. I couldn't figure out what it was- but it was my first ABH palette and I had the most awful experience. I returned it the next day. Which sucked because I wanted to get into the ABH palettes, but now I'll probably never buy one...so I am glad to hear you say they're replaceable. Taylor you are quickly becoming my favorite youtuber. I love your calming voice during tutorials, such a big contrast between other makeup gurus I watch. Keep up the good work!

Bernadette Powers try mercari u will find lots of difference in prices for sure but I know A LOT of ulta and sephora employees buy returns and stuff they clear out super cheap and resale. At least 50% are usually unopened and unused

I get dry under eyes too 😩 I don’t set my concealer at all. I use more creamy concealers and stay far away from the matte, heavy ones like shape tape.

I have seen her use Maybelline fitme powder foundation. That's what I am interested in knowing how she uses that. What are her tips for using face compact for setting concealer.

i used to work at marshall’s and customers were alwaaaays opening containers in the beauty/hair department 🤮 it never fails. i’ve seen the most disgusting things working at that store.

Some of the products they buy from high end companies is flawed or short coded or diluted and stuff so it's not *always* the same quality even though it looks nice and normal. Especially true of the hair products. Caveat emptor, always.

Gillian Wills yeah idk where that info comes from but they can get knock offs probably not that often but just like Amazon, I would never trust a hair product bought there personally even like at Walmart most hairdressers, cosmetologists will tell you it's only gonna 100% trusted to be authentic of its bought in a salon or supply store. The biggest issue with makeup and other skincare products and stuff along those lines at tjmaxx is they are OLD and we all know they probably wont work as well or at all and theres not a lot of variety however u might get lucky and find some good stuff. Imo buying last season and left overs in clothing is one thing. I personally want my makeup fresh.

@@rissadawn2047 I live in the UK. We have extremely tight laws that cover all these aspects. TKMaxx does not sell counterfeit or black market goods... Also they (or any registered business) here would categorically NOT be permitted to sell products that haven't passed quality control.

It wasn’t so much that the palette was hard to work with for some, it was how Anastasia’s team reacted to those reviews. It’s like people weren’t allowed to dislike a product, and got punished for not kissing their butts. It didn’t help that clout chasing influencers trashed the palette to get attention.

Missy Maria I understand it could’ve been better for the price point- subculture- I don’t mind working with it, since my morphe palettes still take more time to get right then subculture. I’ve never had an issue with the riviera palette though. All my ABH palettes own me, though. Sucks that clout chasers have to trash the brand to be part of the ‘cool’ crowd. And if you don’t, people accuse you of kissing ass to suck up to the brand. I love color and ABH gives me that every time, and it’s almost always worth the elevated price.
