Safety goggles could help a treat. Having lost my beloved father in Sept 2021, the UK Mudlarking community has helped me immensely. Thank you so so much. All I need now is a teleporting machine that I can jump into so that I can join you 😂xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
@@MudlarkingWithKitCaboodlers Thank you so much. With my love for history, living vicariously through a mudlark is ideal - it gives me so much joy. Thanks again xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
Miss Marple discussed the language of flowers in one of Agatha Christie's stories, referring back to her Victorian youth. When Charles Dickens was in Boston USA, he visited the house of his American publisher, William D. Ticknor. That house was just up the street from my childhood home in Boston, so I claim a connection to Dickens - we walked on the same sidewalk - and thus, a connection, however very tenuous, to your bead. And good to see that Sunny cat got his toes cleaned. Very important!
Alright so that's why you’ve found a golden nib... these traces of history that you create... we love. Another way that you put pieces together and sew... thank you, as always. Well done Sunny cat✨💛
Brilliant and quite amazing treasures found on this mudlatk ladies. What a brilliant path to walk and find that extraordinary bead. That was certainly waiting for you to find it. Well done. X
Maybe fancy swim goggles or biker goggles, or antique flight goggles? I think your excitement at least made you forget your eyes for a bit! I'll never get tired of watching you both find those great little things.
Sunny brightens my day. He is a reminder that love is most important, feeling happy and working hard to make others feel happy is the best thing you can do in life, and using technology to spread your message of joy is a gift. All 3 of you are nailing it! ❤❤❤❤
Great finds 💖 Interesting information you shared regarding the very old bead you found too. TFS Happy Mud Larking for treasures. 😊 Have a great weekend
Oh, Kate! I never thought to find anyone else who tears up ,as I do, out in the wind! I get strange looks but no hints to prevent this. But, you have exhilarating treasures, and the lovely stories created for them! Love to Sunny...😸
My eyes have the same problem. Even brite sun makes mine pour. I have not found a solution unfortunately. Sunglasses help. Wish I could help. Great video!
Kate, Fleur, your theories on the bead and button are very, very plausible. Lovely finds as was the little green bottle. Kate, on those windy days maybe a pair of wrap around glasses would help? Ian and Sue, Australia
I use clear safety glasses. For very windy days I use clear safety goggles. They help immensely. Excellent video. Loved the laughs. Thanks for sharing.
I love your kitty cat as well well as your channel. Can't do mudlarking where I live though. My kitty cat passed away in November I am still grieving for the loss of my little mate.
I also have very sensitive eyes and have found vented aviation goggles to be just perfect, my own are prescription. I do many out door activities in addition to my employment as an automobile traffic control specialist, known in the States as a flagger. The venting keeps steaming to a minimum and allows for air circulation in a very controlled manner. They at least in my case help control glare as well, as the sides are polarized.
Kate what you might look into getting for your eyes are clear motorcycle glasses. They look like sunglasses but they are clear! You can even get them with a thin spongy material around the inside of the glasses to help block wind getting into your eyes. We use them all the time when riding, especially at night if we don't have our helmet on.. Keep the wind and bug out.
My late father used to say to us ( my x4 sisters and a brother) " when in town keep your window down " meaning to look around all the time as you can miss small things
My suggestion for young Kates eye problems are just a pair of good quality photochromic sunglasses. They cut down air and wind circulation and are light sensitive and will adjust from completely clear to dark sunglasses according to how bright the sun is. They aren't expensive and can look pretty cool
That's maaaaaaadness! I get sensitive eyes too! My only suggestion would be safety goggles... Might be amusing to confuse people by wearing them 😂 I know that rivers tend to sort things, but sorting Peppa pigs together is rather specific! I always check in paths these days as we don't seem to have good mudlarking spots around Wirral! That trade bead and the little blacking pot were fab! I also love the mourning button with the forgetmenot! I forgot it was Thursday, so this video was a nice surprise. Now to watch the Northern's video!
I beachcomb regularly and I have found that a large flip down polarized visor is extremely helpful in protecting my eyes from the wind. They don’t necessarily look pretty but because you can raise and lower the visor it is very handy! Another plus for me is when it rains my face is completely protected and I’m able to continue beachcombing despite the weather. Additionally it provides sun protection. All my love from across the pond in Florida!!! Happy mudlarking ❤️.
Hello 👋 from New York USA That bead and little ink pot you guy's found they are absolutely beautiful Thank You for bringing me along with you guy's I can't wait to see what you guy's find next 😀 😊
Lovely finds, the Dutch bead is beautiful and the Dickens story fascinating. Loved the face on round up, great to see your reactions to your finds, and Sonny's helpfulness.
very interesting finds.love the story of the dutch bead..make me think again how much battles were happening those days.thanks for sharing..greetz from the Netherlands.
Aviator glasses would be ideal. A bit steampunk, and rather cool rather than just safety glasses or swimming glasses. Though any of the above will do as well.
Fantastic! Fantastic! Wonderful finds ladies. It boggles the mind to think you found such wonderful finds stuck in a pathway. I would stick to the Dickens story- fingers crossed.
Kate, clear safety / workshop glasses with side shields would probably help a lot and being clear, no prescription, frame come in all shapes and sizes.
You and I share that problem. All my life I've tried different things but to no avail. Try moisturizing eye drops, sometimes dry eyes cause tears. Good luck.
I'm with you, Fleur. I'll take quality over quantity anytime. Congrats on your Beautiful, Dutch trade bead, Fleur! Kate, very cold wind makes me tear up also. May I suggest you take a little trip to a motorcycle shop that sells goggles with clear lens. Blocking the cold air on the sides should do the trick. You already have a whimsical style about you, so a bit of steampunk will add even more fun to your style. Love the finds and the stories. Thank You Sunny, for an excellent demonstration of kitter Cat Toe Cleaning. : )
Hello from Ohio! I like to wear clear safety glasses doing this type of things, it seems twigs, flying bugs etc. are attracted to my eyes lol. You should be able to purchase from hardware store.
I do love going on your adventures with you. So sweet to watch you both being thrilled over a small but amazing item. You are so lucky to have each other. ❣️
Wow what a precious bead☺️, love the stories these tiny treasures give us. Sunny was doing some serious maintenance on those bean toes🥰. Perfect video thank you. X Might see you at T Beach 😀
@@MudlarkingWithKitCaboodlers it was a pleasure (got a bit star struck😊) and to see you in action too😃. You are both so tuned in to seeing the tiny things, amazing. Oh I’m so excited to see what you found x
Carry something to block the wind off of you. I use an umbrella to block both the sun and the wind. If it is to windy for an umbrella, it is to windy for me.
Just finding artefacts of any kind brings the treasure hunting dream. I really like your "spectacular fashion", it is always a fun one!! The Dutch coin, what an amazing find, and so close to home!!!
Firstly, yes Kate, I have the same problem with my eyes. I have safety goggles that look and go on just like glasses but they fit really close to your eyes because they're very curved. You won't feel silly wearing them because they just look like glasses. It makes a world of difference. Now, on to your path larking...that was so much fun. I knew that bead was going to be something special but it was an even better story than I imagined. I hope someone knows something more about the button, if so, be sure to post an update. Thanks again for a wonderful video. :-)
Try a pair of clear safety glasses the wrap around kind & put one of those eye glass holder / bands on the ends so they'll hang around your neck for when you don't want to wear them .. but don't want to lose them either !
Brilliant finds, quality over quantity for sure! I have watery eyes too, goggles work when I’m desperate… and they double as kitchen goggles when I’m cutting onions and my sensitive eyes can’t handle it! :) Happy New Year!
Try a pair of aviator style glasses .The lense is big enough to protect your eye without being a full wrap around .Also get yellow lenses they increase contrast .
Oh my goodness! What a lark! Loving all the history you are uncovering & rescuing from obscurity in the path. A massive thank you for the adventures and relaxing moments. 🥰 from Michigan, USA.
