I never was a fan of Mike, but I have a lot of respect for him now with his honesty and how much he has grown as a man and now a father. All the best to him!
Was never a fan of what MTV became especially around that group but you are completely right in the respect for how he's willing to tell his story and be honest. Stories like this help others who are currently going through their own struggle
@olecamohatmcgilicudy4256 Jersey Shore was the opiate lifestyle? It was drinking and clubbing. That's mostly alcohol and cocaine. I dont think techno music and bars is what anyone thinks of as the opiate lifestyle
Being a former opiate addict, this story gave me a shit ton of Anxiety... I have had to do SO Many Secret Squirrel missions while playing beat the Dope Sick Clock. Dam I don't miss that sh!t.
15 years sober as well, definitely brought back memories trying to beat that sickness. Everything was fair game busted into many friends and families medicine cabinets,
a decent dose of opioids makes you feel amazing without losing coordination like say alcohol does so its hard to tell if someone is on opioids unless they take MASSIVE amounts of it
@@CR250rSMITHyes and no. I think it depends on how close you are to the person and how observant you are. There's a very distinct yet slight change to someone's voice on opioids. Most people wouldn't notice it. I have a friend that recently relapsed and I could instantly tell he was high again just by his slight shift in tone.
For sure that’s when I knew too 😂 I’ve never in my life seen someone full commit to headbutting a cobblestone wall, it was in Italy so a very very hard wall no give at all
Being an ex opiate addict I can relate to the move Mike made jumping out his car to get his pills. I pulled some last second Hail Mary’s to get my pills back in the day 😂
Angry most of the time, and it made sense why he got so irate at Pauly and Vinny when they pulled that prank on the rest of the house when they took everyone's beds and belongings, Mike was livid. In that episode he kept repeating how he hates when people touch his stuff (who wouldn't), but the fact that his drugs could've been discovered is what made me take a second look and reevaluate that certain scenario.
@@zerovalue5106 Fent is nice when in the form of the patches. If you could get those over the counter, nobody would be nodding off in the streets unless they actually wanted to die.
Mikes book is amazing. It absolutely saved my life. My wife bought this book for me. Both being big fans of Jersey shore I was struggling at the time and I swear by his message and positivity. I thank him and my amazing partner for changing my life.
I watched Jersey shore once while I was tripping and everyone looked like zombies, bags under their eyes it was so crazy to watch like that. But besides that Jersey shore was very entertaining!
Damn I never knew that… didn’t really watch the show much though. Being an addict is so stressful enough I couldn’t imagine with cameras, crew, security, cops all following you!
Yo, it’s so crazy how subtle that drug connection is. I’ve been sober 8 months and I still catch myself asking people if they use with nothing but a look lol
I was in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania once, dope sick with my ex gf, seen a kid from like 100ft away and just speed walked up to him and said “yo you know where to get dope” he did know, he actually had it on deck. I knew the second I looked at him this kid can get dope. 😂
We can always tell another one of us…..even from a distance. Not just eyes or mannerisms. I stg that in that really heightened state there is some sort of esp psychic ability that some people have…..maybe they don’t even acknowledge it, but hey have it….
@@paulmeredith4515 no, it’s not psychic abilities, it’s addiction and it hijacks your sympathetic nervous system to the point your mind is fighting for it to survive. We allocate more unconscious brain power to the things necessary for survival. You can pick up subtle twitches, sounds, smells, etc and you put them all together and get a “feeling”. Like when people think they’re psychic because they can feel someone enter a room, but it’s really just a change in pressure in the room, which is why you feel your ears when you feel like someone is watching you
Much respect Mike! Been 8 years sober now….have a 7 years old son and bought my first house. Never could have imagined this life back then. Good things can happen to anyone who puts in the work, you aren’t a lost cause. Anyone suffering Don’t give up, keep fighting now matter how hard or how impossible it seems
@@henrygonzalez360 awesome dude! Keep going, it’s hard as hell at first but eventually it gets much much easier. I personally stay away from anything and anyone related to drugs now.. even NA. I find my H use was like a car wreck. I wrecked my shit, not going to walk around letting that define me… I just know how to drive the “car” better now and what to watch out for… that’s what worked for me, but find what works for you and remember to only take it a step at a time, you are only fighting that 1 slip up that could lead to relapse, not the whole package. Makes it much more mentally tolerable! You got this bro!!!
I was doing the same amount at my highest use. I had a lady who connected to the mob that would get thousands of real ones in manufacturers bottles and front me as as many as I wanted. Whatever I got I would sell them in a day usually. I kept getting more and would still sell out in a day or two it was insane. It was like unlimited money and drugs. Probably by the grace of God an old crime I did came up with a warrant and they kicked in my door at 5am. I remember hearing the door crack and i had 6 crushed up already in a line on my nightstand, did that and lit a cigarette then off to jail I went. 😂
@@zerovalue5106 haha could not agree more. Happy for your sobriety brother I’m 11yrs clean. I once taped a pack of oxys to my taint for a trip to Cancun. I still remember the 6hr panic attack in airport and flight it was truly horrific. Good times 😂😂
Amazing how so many woman will make good guys jump through crazy hoops for a date; but have no issue being a tramp & chase some avg jersey guyv be his 10th some after just meeting him cause a TV camera is following him. Ive lost hope in women. Most are delusional tiny brains when it comes to relationships
can you please get rid of the tubb guy with the beard? or at least stop him from being able to constantly cut in with monotonous points 🙏 thanks so much steve.
I never much cared for Mike on the show neither, But I’m a recovering opioid n heroine addict with almost 10 years clean myself n that I can respect Mike for.
Man this made me super anxious thinking back pulling similar crap to make sure I scored on time and good to go. Don’t miss it at all!!! Something I wondered though on that much opioids it’s super hard to do the deed or finish the deed cuz sure you can pop a viagra or something but man the drive was always super weak when I was on 300 plus mg of oxy. Or if you timed it on a slight come down you’re golden and then get well right after the festivities but I’d be interested now in hearing how he pulled that part off with how much he was on all the time. Then again, 6 honeys in your room can always change that and I’ve never had that lol
I always wondered when they did the prank and put all of mikes stuff outside along with everyone else’s… I wondered if that’s why he got so so mad because they would of seen or went through his stuff to move it and he was mad because he could of gotten caught.
Hoping out the car while its moving is some real life opiate addict shit that everyones done while being sick. That dope sick clock suckks definitely dont miss that shit. Glad hes well.
If I had his past, I would never want to talk about it again. Especially with a Wife and children now. It;s almost like these people are still bragging about what they did instead of being remorseful.
Probably cause he lucked out and was on tv getting paid considerably famous for the time, was high on drugs and having women so yeah he likes to talk about it even tho he was a mess he still had hella fun lol
Idk in many ways its better to laugh at the past than pretend it didnt happen. It makes us who we are, if we make it through. Id be more worried my kids would find out years later that i was a hypocritical liar. Own it.
He gets paid to talk about it. It's no different than getting together with friends and reliving old memories about crazy situations you somehow got out of. Also if you had his past you'd be doing the interview instead of hating from your keyboard.
@@RichardGarcia93 You really dont know how earning money on RU-vid works huh? Its a big deal because advertisers have zero sense of context when it comes to content put out on here. They look at that word (I prob cant even type it or my comment will get taken down) and remove all ties to it. This is hardly a new thing but its only going to get worse.
Glad I never messed with any opioids on that show I wouldn't have wanted to do anything BUT DRINK THEY DRANK ENOUGH AS IT IS FORGET BEING DOPE SICK IN FRONT OF THE WORLD
Bro all you gotta do is weigh the capsule filled minus the weight of the capsule and you get your dosage. If u fill the capsule tho it’s way to strong so that’s why you mix a filler in with the oxy powder with a filler and weighing the powder and the filled capsules on a milligram scale you can get an an extremely precise dose
