Two 16-year-olds are turning social media trends into profitable businesses for themselves. Ang Jia Xin has been selling her own brand of homemade slime since she was 14. Better known as Bobbasliime to her 29,000 followers on Instagram, Jia Xin must rely on her unflagging spirit to literally churn out and sell 1000 tubs of slime each month. Remus Er buys limited edition sneakers with the help of some nifty bots and flips them for a $20K to $30K profit on a good month. But with O-Levels looming and a global pandemic affecting sales, how will the two young entrepreneurs overcome the challenges of running their own business, juggle the stress of school exams and find the time to just be teenagers?

Shoe resellers buy stuff that has high demand thus new things or shoe price suddenly dropping which has good demand and sell it for a lot more, if you save up for it the price probably was stable which means you would have enough money to buy the one the shoe reseller is selling as the price would be a bit more than the average price so you still could buy it, just find a person.

She did make a value add to the end product. This is not flipping or scalping. On the other hand the guy is riding on some other brand’s brand awareness and publicity. Did not create anything himself nor value add the end product by any means. You can argue that Wall Street hedge fund traders are doing the same thing, and yes indeed they are. Neither did I say traders are good, they are the least contributive group of individuals to society, rips of the poor to profit the rich, even road sweepers contributes more to the society.

The slime girl seems like such a nice girl in general. Her handwriting is so freaking neat, and she’s studying so hard for her test while trying to keep her business alive. Working at such a young age and earning an average 4-5k a month! Her work is goals, and she’s making all these pretty and creative slimes. Actually, what the boy does just make it harder for others to actually buy those actual shoes actually. Such practices need to stop actually. I will actually feel very infuriated if every time when I need to get something, I need to actually get it from someone who actually hoards the products and resells them to me at higher prices just because he has some ways to purchase them ahead of me. Good for them I guess but both practices are not something I would encourage, one a scalper and the other one basically making plastic from plastic... Not sure if those are good entrepreneurial examples....
