Thanks man, it's something really important to me when playing wacky lists like this. But at the VERY LEAST you have got to print out your army list for them to reference while playing you. It's basic courtesy at a proper competitive event.

Your enthusiasm for this game is totally infectious! I'm almost done with painting the Evil half of the starter box; I'm really looking forward to getting started on the Rohirrim (though I'm definitely doing more Mordor in the future! What can I say... I just think orcs and trolls are cool). My wife is into 40k and is going to try playing MESBG as long as I paint all the models (she paints slowly and they're not Space Marines so inherently less interesting I guess). Seeing detailed, enthusiastic content really helps keep my "painting morale" high.

Ah the joy of a country with low Sars-Cov2 numbers (and summer). Greetings from Europe, I love how you squeezed your army into this "old rohan" theme. And you got something with playing Aragorn as Thorongil, now GW really has to give you a profile for him (basically Aragorn Elessar but without Anduril and maybe a throwing spear would be perfect)

So Lachie, you've brought us a soup list. Anyway, as requested, my thoughts are to maybe add in the White Wizard, Saruman, who has not yet abandoned reason for madness (Gandalf the White profile), to solve the magic problem. It will change the list to a more control based style than a beat stick, but it should provide a better counter to some armies that give you trouble. It'd be a shame not to use that awesome Thorongil conversion though. I also like the idea of a young Erkenbrand rather than Grimbold's dad. His horn adds 2+, he gets heroic march, has better defence and he unlocks the Redshields option so you can split off riders with him and get the banner benefits. He's not as killy, but his buffs are better. I think riders are under-utilised these days, the sneaky bow shots when holding an objective can come in handy, and four to six with Erkenbrand could add some versatility. Other than that, your conversions look great, it is a really cool army. Keep up the quality content mate, and all the best to you and your family for Chrissy and the New Year.

Ah Gandalf of COURSE!!!!! I was thinking of bringin in Saruman from the ?White ocuncil list and going to yellow alliance but that is an option too!!! Yeah Erky could be good fun as well, but S5 with a lance rerolling is damn INSANE. But there's lots of experimentation ot be done. I do fee lthat Derny may need to come back though! Maybe IO should do a whole episode jsut on list comparisons?! OOOH I SHOULD GET KYLIE AND JEREMY TO COME ON MErry Christmas to you Simon!

I love the 'guide' idea. I have a relatively inexperienced Warhammer 40,000 group and I have done the same for them. Also loving the 'themed' army, another thing that my games have only been enhanced by the new Crusade system.

Such cool stuff man! I really enjoy seeing LotR content, youtube is so flooded with Warhammer which I love but it's so cool to see some LotR too. If I can ask, the "counts as" thing is that just proxying a model for a new appearance and you use the original unit's stats? Or does it change something about how it plays? Yes counts as is straight up proxying, so Thorongil is just King Elessar, Thengel is Theoden etc etc :) Yay!! Thanks for watching my dude :L)

I'm really looking forward to this series, great idea! I do think you need to modify Aragorn's armor a little bit, its too easily identifiable as Eomer's model in its current state. Maybe if you paint it with a unique color scheme that won't be the case but just my input. Great content as always!

That's the plan! Might go for a green and silver :) Theme is that he's been loaned one of the sets from the royal armoury :) I still need to sculpt his star as well on the shoulder.

I like your Forelong model, when you were talking about the character for your theme I had the idea of using Thrydan's model as a base for the proxy because his armor and horse are actually very Rohan-esque and I've always wanted to see him converted into a Rohan model. Might have to do that with one of my lists at some point.

Loved this video, have you taken the list to anymore tournaments? I'm looking to take the "3rd Age, shameless copy" of it at 1k points to a tournament. Been running Riders of Theoden for a year now and loving them but I agree they need a push. List is Elessar Theoden Eomer Deorwine Gamling Dernhelm 10 Royal Guard Forlong Agonizing over the low numbers though but I love the potential that Eomer/Forlong/Elessar have to just rip through stuff.

Nice vid, I don't always watch very long videoes, but I loved this mix of conversion and lore talk, with some tacts and testing. One thing I have been wondering about is your stance on third party miniatures - like Davale games or Unreleased miniatures. Do you have a video or podcast on that topic?

Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed the format. As for third party, I personally don't support companies that infringe on other companies IP, but I haven't made a video or podcast about it. It's up to each individual to decide for themselves :)

@@Zorpazorp Totally fair. I just think it is an interesting topic as the new miniature revolution of 3d-printers has to be challenging for GW. I love many of the variations provided by third party companies and I hope they could give GW some friendly competition by showing that there is a market for MESBG. However, the IP infringement is kind of a grey area and something that is very interesting to discuss. I also think you could provide some interesting insight on the topic as you go to tournaments where I guess third party miniatures would be frowned upon? I only play a few games against friends so there is no issue, but it would be interesting to have some insight from tournament players.

@@wark93 Yeah the 3D landscape is suuuuper interesting. But when people make 3D sculpts that are clearly minis following the designs in the films, or even GW products. That's theft. Plain and simple. But I don't care what others do with their money, I just won't support that myself.

Shouldn't the Knight of Dol Amroth also gain the +1 courage from the Minas Tirith armybonus, as he also has the GONDOR Keyword? (In fact, all Fiefdom models have the GONDOR Keyword) Which would bring him to courage 6 ;-)

Only affected by the Warhorn, the +1 courage bonus doesn't affect 'gondor' models,. it only affects models 'in the army list' :) You're thinking of the Bozza banner/Imrahil stack :)

@@gijsvandeneynde1264 Ohh right sorryt dude. Legendary Legions are special armyt lists that have been released in a bunch the last few books. They are custom army lists representing a specific themey army. They have a bunch of restrictions and bonuses :)
