YOUNG & BEARDED: When Will Your Beard Come In? 

I agree, Late 20’s for me to grow a full beard. Only recently grew a full beard again at 41 after not having one for 10 years. Time is definitely a factor for most, like Greg said.

Moustache came in at 12 or 13, but it was wispy. Had a full beard pattern at 20, but it was still pretty thin. I'm now 22 and would say that I have a "proper" beard.

When i was 18/24 i had no beard thin mustache and on my chin now at 26 i have a a full beard its continuing to perfect and getting better.

I asked my father when i was 10 "so when do i get my beard" he paused for a second thinking about his own life "you'll be around 20 before you can grown a presentable beard and he was right by 20 i was able to grown a circle beard to a decent length im now 23 and almost got a full beard the lower cheek is taking the longest to totally fill in but im just leaveing my face alone since my work have no facial hair stipulations

I also had quite a full beard (except soul patch) by 14 and I always took it for granted. Now at 17 I have started growing a beard and it looks so good. "Keep growing" is what I would say to my beardless homies out there!

I always wanted a beard at 18 but sadly I had to wait 6 years for it to come in it’s just the way it is be patient don’t shave! just keep growing x

I can help in this topic my beard fully came in and gotten thicker at 19/20 but i have been growing a beard since 15 which was so thin i left to grow as it wished i have seen it change from thin hair to beard hair and get filled in. So young lads chill out and be patient.

Been wanting to do the circle beard since I was 17. Was barely able to do it at 30 (moustache didnt connect on the sides around the corners of my mouth). I can do it now at 37 but it's gotta be thinner on the sides than I'd like. Hopefully someday I can do it all "evenly" (sides are as thick/wide as the moustache).

Minoxidil will work if having a beard is in your genetics (family & relatives) and you use it consistently for a long enough period. It’s not magic and grow hair in areas of patches, but will speed up the maturation of vellus “baby” hairs.

In my teens I could barely grow more than peach fuzz. Now entering my late 20s in the next few months and get full coverage just wish it was a bit fuller growth on the sides.

I started shaving when I was 16 but I only had peach fuzz for a moustache. My dad was able to grow real facial hair at 15. I'm also a brown guy. I used to always shave every two days throughout high school and the beginning year of college when I was 18. Then during COVID I experimented with growing out my beard. I'm 21 now and have a patchy beard because it grows low on the chin and higher on the cheeks but doesn't come all the way to connect with the mustache. I am able to grow an okay mustache but not a dense one.

Mine just started coming in. In past 3 months grew mustache sideburns n cheek hair just waiting on connectors n underlip to come in more. 17 atm pretty suprising bcuz i got transitional hairs pretty much in every spot. Was confused ive been hitting gym for 2.5 years. But about last month i started getting growth every night long hairs just popping out everywhere just waiting on a few to turn darker on cheek.

I turn 34 in a few days and I've only recently started growing up past the faceline I have a solid cheek line and some patches on the right side of my face and my left is very sparse patching..

I'll turn 21 in two month, in july, and my beard has been growing slowely but surely over the course of the years and is nowhere to be full yet. I still have quite a lot of patches, my sideburns aren't that high, my mustache is not currently what one could call outstanding but I can say that it grows. Don't be affraid if your beard is not full at the age of 20 or even after. Mine started to appear a little when I was 17 and it took 3 entire years to finally become suitable and I can still see changes nearly every month now, even after my facial hair finally got fine. Keep it up guys, keep growing it, I'm sure yours will show up soon enough!

I started to shave at 16 but I don’t think I could grow a full beard till I was 28 I’ll be turning 30 this year and my beard is still getting fuller and if my relatives are anything to go by I should hit full potential in my mid to late 30’s

I’m 38 and can only really grow facial hair on my goatee area and under my jawline. Have sparse hair on my cheeks. It’s getting better every month but I’m such a late bloomer!

Bruh if I remember correctly i started growing full beard at around 16. But always shaved it off cuz I never liked it it made me look old but now im 23. And stopped clean shaving. And damn I realized how good my beard looks the shape and color and everything I'm totally blessed.

I'm 21, turning 22 in May and my beard is probably about 5 1/2 inches long at the longest but slightly curled, the length is there, mustache is super long, all i have to wait for now is the rest of the fullest, I'd say my beard should probably be in its prime by the time I'm 30 or so, my beard started actually coming in when i was 19 1/2, before since i was 16 was just a stache and small burns, no chin or cheek

I started getting sideburns goatee and mustache at like 13. Now im 21 and the sideburns and goatee are both strong on their own but barely connect, mustache is still a bit weak and also only kinda connects. I think if i just grow it out it'll fill in the patches with length so thats what im doing now

I started to grow an almost entire full beard at the age of 24, before that, I had few cheek hairs, but at the age of 24 I decided to let it grow for more than a month, as I never did it before, I was shaving every week because I didn't like my cheek hairs, I noticed that after a month I had something that can be finally called a beard, but when I shaved it, I saw that the first weeks I was still having few cheek hairs, so I noticed that I have a full beard but my hairs grow at very uneven times. So if you guys think you have a bad beard, try not shaving it for more than a month, and you will see that the problem is the uneven grow and the time it takes to grow entirely. now at the age of 25 I can say I have a full beard but with the same "problem" as the last year, it grows slow and uneven, but after some months of let it growing, I have a very good beard

I am 18 and Indian and have full beard

Its hard at a young age when its easier to compare to others. Im 37 now and still cant grow a proper beard. Strong mustache,soul patch and on chin. But thats it really. The rest-not great. You're best off working on what you can control, strengthen your mind and geow out of that comparrison stage. Learning what you can do with what you got-if that changes adapt.

My first hairs came at around 14-15 on mustache, then at chin, from 17 i started using a trimmer, then on i trimmed regularly, but the cheeks weren't coming great, cheeks started filling at around 19 years of age, now i am 19 years and 5 months and the density is increasing slowly day by day, the only place left is mustache connecting to chin and little patch on both sides of lips, otherwise i can say i am a full beard bear, and i also have a enormous amount of body hairs, everywhere you can think of, legs, hands, chest, back, even butt, on abdomen, its genetics.

My mustache came first quite peachy fuzzy at around 15/16 Then around 18/19 the sideburn then early 20s under the neck. I’m now 30 and the cheeks are coming in slowly but surely I will probably be 35 by the time they come in fully

I think it’s difficult for young guys in school because there are those few kids that get great beards early, but the majority of kids don’t have anything but it’s much easier to focus on the small minority

I would also advise to just shave until later you can see a better coverage and try to grow it out..in most cases i'd say late 20s and early 30s is when it usually "comes in"

I’m 15 and grow a lot of neck beard, chin area, soul patch and full moustache and patchy cheek area. But nothing connects and I have a bald/thin spot underneath my chin 🥲 what should I do to fix this Greg ?

Wash your face 2x times a day, exfoliate 1-2 times a week,dermarolling and essential oils, vitamins that help in hair growth and care and working out,helps alot

Id like to share my story. All my high school years I've seen my friends have facial hair at ages 13 to 15 and I barely had any under my chin. Lol. Like I had 2 strands of hair. I didn't make a big deal till I got in my 20s where I couldn't believe I still don't have any facial hair. Now finally at the age of 24 I started seeing a grow in side burns and it's coming in fast too. and like my face is slightly itchy where I'm experiencing the new growth. So yeah for everyone it's different jus got to wait and see.

These guys are still pups seriously 18 - 21 is nothing in terms of facial hair. I didn't get a decent-ish full beard until my late 20s early 30s. A lot of these young guys saying all their friends have full beards might not being seeing things how they really are. When I was 18 anyone who had a better beard than me at the time was deemed to have a full beard in my eyes. Now I look back and realise that their beards back then were extremely patchy and sparse but my eyes at the time just couldn't see it. After about 22 or so I just forgot about growing a beard and lived my life made new friends took up new hobbies etc. Before I knew it years had gone by and my beard was good enough for me to rock. Trust me as you get older your perception changes a lot.

Yeah, growing a full beard at the age of 18 is something for the 1%... I just had a mostache when I was 25.. I'm almost 30, I have a beard now, not a thick beard, but still a beard and it is getting better with age... So yeah, for most men, you just have to be patient

I'm 36 now. I still don't have a strong beard. But it has thickened up a lot over the last 4 years. I have the photos to prove it. So I guess I'm a late bloomer. My moustache is rock solid though! I'm currently around 11 weeks into another attempt and it's still not quite there. Maybe another year or two.

I started shaving at 12. Grew a goatee and sideburns at 13. Skinny boy band beard at 14. It’s a blessing and a curse. 🤣🤙

It’s so funny to me when people want hair to grow out of their face 🤣. They legit have zero idea how much actual maintenance/ grooming/ bad hair days will occur and how it impacts eating but I wouldn’t change it for anything ha! I like to rock a big full mustache where the hairs cover both lips with my beard and it’s tough. Even changes the way you drink liquids … so dumb ha

all I was able to grow was a stache until I was 21. now at 22 my beard is almost completely filled in. just have under lip patch and that's it. Give it time fellas

at a buffet, i personally sneak corndogs into the buffet so others can enjoy them. I hide 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. it then, is a joy for me to see other patrons of the establishment eat my corndogs thinking they were part of the buffff
