Young Chimp Stevie is having a good day until she has an unfortunate encounter with another creature on chimp island
Stevie is enjoying climbing up on the high ropes when suddenly she start screaming loudly
The young screaming chimp is clearly in pain and mum ZeeZee who is tending to baby chimp Jeff races to find Stevie to check on her
The mother chimp knows she is in some kind of trouble, the look on chimp ZeeZee's face says it all - you can se the anxiety on her face as she looks for her young daughter
When we observed Stevie we suspected she had been stung as there were lots of wasps and other stinging / biting insects around the chimp habitat
and we were right after reviewing the footage you can see the yellow wasp flying around Stevie before and after she had been stung. Stevie was clearly trying to brush off the wasp in the video
Stevie was clearly shaken by the incident and her fur was standing on end for a while but she soon recovered form her ordeal and was fine for the rest of the day - thankfully
And as a bonus we get to see a clip baby Jeff on riding on mum Zeezee's back, and an adorable moment when he looks at Stevie after she climbs back down to them

Chimp Stevie and her family are members of the World's Rarest Chimpanzee subspecies
They are Western Chimpanzee, officially recognised and listed as a critically endangered species, born at Chester Zoo.
The Chester Zoo troop, are important to the survival of this magnificent species of Great Ape
Chester Zoo is part of the European and international Chimpanzee Breeding Program and is dedicated to ensuring the survival of these magnificent animals. Chimpanzees are great apes and are human's closest relative, sharing nearly 99% of our DNA
