As a mid 30's black man in America it always touches my heart to see our favorite black male entertainers rappers/comedians/actors grow into their 40's and 50's and realize what really matters..family, children, sobriety, giving back to your community. And that all The success and money and lifestyle of the rich and famous that we low key/high key envy... having done all of that just for them to come back and tell us it's all bullshit. That's growth, that's maturity. That's life. Even your so called role models are in a process and on a journey just like all of us and no man is exempt from having to fight for his mental, emotional and spiritual freedom. Great interview. I'm so mf'n proud of Dro. I remember seeing him at a park off MLK when I was living in ATL back in 2012/2013. That park use to be lit in the evenings. Dro knows what I'm talking bout during that time period. I'm happy you got yourself together 1st, then for your family, close friends, being a mentor to young children, and keep doing a great job. Well thats great and i know tgat feeling of being clean......ive been on drugs since 24 and only been clean 1 year out of those years and now im 42.....Still using now but im fighting and just called rehab this morning but no answer nor call back but im following up in the a.m....ive missed 3days from work this week and dealling with my mother cancer and her appointments....Its not easy but ill beat this and momma gonna beat this cancer too...

I've been off everything for 3 years. First 2 weeks I remember driving past the liquor store and a tear went down my eye. When your successful its hard for other people around you to see you have a problem so you have to correct yourself. Everyone seen my accomplishments, big house and assumed I was doing great.

Dro was a big part of my life. A lot of influence. I used to wear nothing but RL Polo bc of Dro. I had a couple of other guys around me dressing like that and listening to nothing but Dro. To all the RIP mixtapes or the Equestrian Dro mixtape. I still listen to his stuff to this day! And Im a white guy from the east/south coast area.

It is always fantastic to see people in recovery, God bless him. I wish anyone struggling with addiction that God would remove the desire to use. If you’re fresh out of recovery, don’t be in a hurry to go back into that environment to show how good you look. I’m over 20 years clean from heroine, thank God. I’m still required to do the work to make it another 20 years. Get help , you cannot do it on your own

This is absolutely AWESOME!!! I love when black men (whether celebrity or not) take the time to better themselves in the spirit and the mental. Glad he helped himself even when his daughter wasnt ready. He will be stronger to be able to deal with her and any other obstacles that life may bring. Everything happens for a reason. As a fan of dro I really appreciate this interview and as a young black person that went through the same thing I understand everything he said and is going through and can tell this is genuine I’m proud of him and pray for the best!! Going through the drug process I always wondered how the artist keep it together because that’s a big monster or gorilla that can kill u or make u make the wrong decisions I know some artist just talk and say they do but some people don’t know that they really don’t use and then they use and don’t understand what the thing is!!
