I do not own anything about this, I only made this as an interpretation of my ideal song using the original one, not to discredit the original but the middle bits were not to my liking so I made this, hope you like it.
I remember, my first day at primary school. My very first day, And the teacher she said, Good morning Mark. You can sit here, next to Francis, Remember that, Franco? You were older. You been kept back. Had it all before us, didn't we? Had it all still to come. And now here we are.
Franco You've done all right. World is all right for smart cunts, but what about me?, What about fuckin men like me, What do i get. All i can take with my bare hands, All i can get with my fists.
Trainspotting 2 one of the best sequels ever made, T2 share's the same as another T2, Terminator 2 another amazing sequel. Two T2 both are amazing sequels. Thanks for editing this song it is a brilliant song.
I wasn't expecting much from T2 .....as we know when they make sequels to iconic films they never usually live up to what your expecting but it blew me away how good it was....my faviroute part in the whole movie is this scene ( with this song) when begbie corners mark in the pub and the two remember marks first day at school and then it shows the them as kids ..it made me tear up remembering my own first day at school thinking where the hell did it all go (im 50 now)brilliant film and more than a worthy sequel
I just want to say, having lived through addiction and making out clean on the other side, Trainspotting depicts the misery better than any other movie I’ve seen! It not only involves the pain of and struggle of actually using, but how hard it is to get clean and what one has to look forward to...,not choosing life. I waited a long time for T2 and was not disappointed! Very nostalgic, very accurate! A wonderful close! Also I have acquired 3 favorite songs from the Trainspotting franchise, Born Slippy(Trainspotting main song...amazing) Wolf Alice-Silk(also amazing) and this one! I hope nobody has to go through addiction and pray for those who do! Don’t give up, keep fighting, if you’re breathing there is hope! You have no idea how good it can get!! Choose life!!
T2 is a powerful movie especially when you've went through addiction makes you look back at the happy times, school and that, then the chaos that takes over, 20 years later, you're through it wondering where did the time go, where did i or it go wrong, to go that route
ive been looking for this song since ive seen T2 AND COULDNT FIND IT because it wasnt on the soundtrack, is2g i went to see the movie second time just for this song so i could search by lyrics and still nothing. THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG.
Ever since i first listened to this song i've felt a feeling like no other, i think it's so calming and soothing and years later i can't stop listening
Thanks so much for making this version. I agree, the middle of the original song caught me off guard. This is more the version of the song I was hoping to find. T2 was amazing.
It took alot of time for me to watch Trainspotting. Cause i knew it would hurt. And it did. Both movies just cut bigger and deeper than begbie's knife rounds. ❤️ :')
Thanks for fixing this song. The first 40 seconds of the original is some of the best music I have ever hear in my life and the rest is some of the absolute worst. Why they would butcher such a beautiful song is beyond me.
It is just coincidence. I was on a trip to Edinburgh this summer. And those hills, that nature of green, I stood mesmerized in front of the exact scene. Not alike anything, different to the whole world. Watched Trainspotting and the Trainspotting 2 yesterday. When watching the first movie I felt young again,I felt that real lust for life. Edinburgh, the city of magic and maybe lost lives, maybe witches, colours, that very green, that very guys…that very child on the ceiling, that very streets, it is unlike anything.again I felt young and I had a real trip again(never used drugs, but had psychological addictions pf my own),like the ones I used to have in 17, when was a melomaniac. The music in the movie is beyond the spot on. Iggy Pop, the legend whom I found after becoming “adult”. that is the feeling of the movie(age-35) But Trainspotting 2 hit me hard. I found myself laughing on many scenes and having fun again, 35, like in 17. But then I cried, twice during the movie. The scene when Franko is about to kill Mark and Mark tells that he remembers the day they met, and the teacher tells he can sit next to Franco. That feeling, of the childhood gone, but you are still that child. And every child on this round thing earth is going to go through this…and your own children. And the final scene, that room like tunnel the never ending tunnel…it is beyond the psychology of mine, It was again like a feeling of addiction. It hurt me to watch, but I wanted to watch again and again. Welsh is just a genious as well as Danny Boyle and all the cast. Here comes Johnny Yen again With the liquor and drugs And a flesh machine He's gonna do another striptease
I got my friend hooked on this song 🎶 and now he has Dare Me tattooed on his neck ❤ he couldn’t wait to show me and nows my turn I’m getting a matching one
Love this took me awhile to find it, I don't think it needs the rapping at all, It make me feel something sad but that's not always a bad thing. There can be a beauty in that sadness deep inside
Ivo Marques definitely impressed. Yeah, I think it's just a matter of time. The original track by Young Fathers is unfortunately missing from the T2 (Trainspotting 2) soundtrack probably due to the fact that it goes down the crapper after a minute or so, what were they thinking I have no idea. Nevertheless, I think if someone was to expound & build on the generally hook, exactly like what you've done, and then mix it properly... Well then they'd have a dance / possible pop hit, no question there. Question is who's going to beat who to the punch.. The right DJ hears this and picks up sample rights it's over.!! No question in my mind. I wish you luck and amazing work keep it up.!!
Thanks, hopefully someone talented will, this was done on sony vegas, I know nothing about sound editing and very little about video editing and honestly I only put this on youtube so it could be on my playlist ahah, and it's public because I thought that I probably wouldn't be the only one with the same thought, once again thank you very much ^^
So small and precious What did you just have for breakfast Little man in trousers pick up your toy I let the buckshot fly Tonight you must forgive me But you never asked me out to dance Dare me He cleans his crystals While I reload my pistols You filthy boy You never had a chance (A chance)
Matthew Hash this was done in one hour by a noon (me) so yeah if somebody listens to this and is more experienced please do a better one, sadly there are no samples laying around like in popular songs but I am sure a good editor could emulate them or do something similar.
Makes no sense to me either :\ and same it's growing on me but still the scene is always playing in my head when I hear the song and the middle bit doesn't fit the scene so I had to give it a go ^^
I see songs as another form of storytelling. It's not just about creating soothing and pleasant sounds. That's why I don't listen to Enya and Coldplay. The "messy" parts in the original Dare Me corresponded with "messy" parts in the story the group was telling in the lyrics. It's just like in movies one kind of music is used for romantic scenes and another for suspenseful scenes. I love the original Dare Me because that's how I look at songwriting.
Exactly, but most people here including me listen to the song and think of the scene in Trainspotting 2 and in the movie the messy parts are not included and since I connect this song to the scene I wanted one that had no messy parts, but I am sure the original song makes sense, and I like some songs but I wouldn't say I am a fan, I don't listen to them that much.
Completely agree. Young Fathers have pretty and dirty music, T2 used the pretty stuff and that's fine as it probably fit the movie better. If people are turned off by the original Dare Me, that's fine, but Young Fathers have some great albums/EP's that are all worth checking out in my book.
So small and precious What did you just have for breakfast Little man in trousers pick up your toy I let the buckshot fly Tonight you must forgive me But you never asked me out to dance Dare me He cleans his crystals While I reload my pistols You filthy boy You never had a chance (A chance) Semi automatic for you papa The stress comes quick Be there when your on your knees Say your prayer midnight cowboy that’s an order Sleep tight cowboy Are you nicely tucked in? The blankets now over your chin You miss and I’ll make it You give and I’m taken Dish out the rations in fire Soon to get a weapon I'm gonna show you (???) It's looking pretty, huh? Looking-Looking-Looking-Looking pretty huh? It's pretty, huh? Hanging on the ledge where you're holding out? Standing on the rail bridge Watching as we pass by Laughing like I don't mind, don't mind Don't lie I'm here to leave you lonely So you can turn it on me You never had a chance Dare me You filthy boy, you had no chance You filthy boy, you filthy boy You had no chance Seven years, seven years Your luck has passed Seven years you never asked me out to dance Asked me out to dance
RU-vid keeps recommending me this video. I can't believe it's gotten so many views. I'm disheartened. Allow your minds and your ideas about music to be challenged and expanded.
@@taniaarthur I am not holding you here, no one cares you don't like this interpretation, I made it for me and it just so happened a lot of people were searching for it as well, I like the original but it didn't fit with the idea I had when I watched the movie, that's why I made it.
