My first mobile phone from 2000. Robust and practically unbreakable, I used it for three years and resold it in good condition for a third of the price of a new one. Eh, golden times..
This was my 2nd mobile and the one that caused one of the most amusing times at school for me. In English on a hot day so I’d put my jacket in my bag mobile in jacket pocket on loud. This lesson was with a strict teacher who normally took mobiles off people and you had to collect them from head master at end of day. So after a bit of a boring lesson 15 min before end my phone started ringing. I couldn’t get to if to stop it without making it obvious it was mine so I sat there willing it to stop. The teacher is looking round to see whose phone it was. A lad calls out it’s hers pointing to me. Teacher asks me is it yours. I say no. It finally stopped ringing to my relief. But it then started again. This time there was no denying it was mine, I was told to go out of the room with the teacher with my bag. Teacher asked again was if my phone. I couldn’t deny it again so said might have been. I was then told to switch it off which I did. Then the teacher told me to go back in class and ignore anyone asking questions and she would tell them off. It was always amusing her telling people off so I hoped they would say something. I went back in the lad who’d said it was my phone asked if I’d had it took off me. I just shook my head and sat down. The next 5 mins I had my hand over my mouth trying my best not to make it obvious I was laughing. The lad (correctly) pointed out it wasn’t fair I hadn’t had my mobile took off me when the teacher had taken his off him before. The teacher wasn’t at all happy with being told that she was in wrong and even defended me for lying about it not being my phone apparently I had lied cos I feared the disturbance it would cause. She stormed out and got the head of year in to talk to the lad. The lesson had finished so going out passed the teacher obviously annoyed at me for having my phone on said don’t you ever even think of having your phone in my lesson again you’ve seen the trouble it causes. I was just about able to keep straight face long enough to just nod and walk out. I never did have my phone on loud in her lesson again it was always on silent.
That’s the first cellphone I’ve ever owned when I lived in Manila. It was new but an old model in 2001 because I couldn’t afford the latest one. Fast forward 10 yrs later living and working in the US I could afford the latest iPhone from then on.
My first mobile phone when I went to school. Battery every time can fall out if you drop phone. After returning the battery Nokia 5110 still working. Finnish quality.
my first its philips savvy :) then 5110, 6150,3410, and too 350,450,550,650... in new century... 6.1,7.1 and now x30 :) (5110 and 6.1 are best in damageless :)
