I've been waiting for her to drop a track like this. The last year or more her music has referenced drinking excessively even more than usual, and the way she's been speaking about relationships ending, not trusting girls, them only being good for one thing and that it's not okay to have feelings about them and just keep your heart cold and treat them like objects, that it's more important to focus on pursuing material goods and flexing and being hard, and that it's necessary to self medicate and keep your feelings hidden. My point is that I can tell that something big happened in her life that has caused her to deal with some pretty serious mental anguish. To me it's looked as though she's been trying to keep up the tough front and image but that it's getting harder and eventually something's gotta give and you either have a breakdown or you have a revelation, sometimes both. Eventually all that hood posturing and street type way of carrying yourself just gets exhausting man. I feel like she's talking about some REAL shit, not just street type real, like just the difficulties of being human type real. Eventually you have to think more long term. When you're older and getting close to your time to meet our maker, is all that flashy shit gonna matter or be what you miss and remember. Or will it be the people you loved, did you make a difference in your life, relationships you wish you'd handled with more wisdom, the list goes on. I think she got her heart broken, again, and she's trying to work through and find herself and I respect it. I'm already a fan, but I'm proud to see her taking this deeper approach. Great track.
