I’d kiss him for sure and I’m straight! The pain of a dislocation is horrendous. The lifeguard brought him immediate relief. He seems like a good kid. The lifeguards are incredibly supportive.

What a friendly staff and a nice young man! Even before the green whistle, he was polite and pretty tame. You could tell that his gratitude for the help was sincere. He made me laugh out loud when he started bragging to them about how well he had hurt himself 😂

Tip of the hat to Will, KC, and the other lifesavers at Bondi. Their training, which starts in their Nipper days, is wicked hard. Since Surf Lifesaving was established in 1907, Aussie surf lifesavers have rescued over 715,000 beachgoers. In one recent year alone (2017-18), surf lifesavers and Australian Lifeguard Service lifeguards performed 10,249 rescues, 65,296 first aid treatments, and over 1.5 million preventative actions. Based on these statistics, you can make the case that 1 in every 36 people in the land girt by sea today is alive thanks to these heroes.

Remarkable medical treatment. Australia has something special there. How does this green whistle work? How does this chemical work so well? here in the states we don’t have anything like this. You dislocate your shoulder and it might be three days before somebody can do something to help you.

poor lad but all's well ends well those pens are good stuff my back froze on me a few times and that is what the ambo's gave me and it helped a whole lot. Salute to all life savers and ambo's.

I thought you always had to have a scan every time you had a dislocation to make sure nerves and blood supply haven't been damaged or pinched? Cause theres always a potential risk of serious complications if there was?

True ,it is hard to believe that life guards are able to offer effective pain relief and the paramedics are able to put the shoulder back in place. Plane and simple and no run around .

Supposedly has been available since 2020 via Walgreens pharmacy. Maker made a deal in hopes of expanding access across u.s. logical as is alternative to options.

Wikipedia still says the FDA has withdrawn it from the market. It does have kidney toxicity effects. It’s a prescription medicine in Australia, used by the Defence forces, ambos, & lifeguards as shown here.

Here in the States he would have been transported to the the hospital, x raid, still lying there in pain before a doctor came which would have been a few hours later Then while you waited for the to give you pain meds. Then they would have brought in the doctor to pop it back in place. whilst all the bills were adding up you get a bill that you cant pay for because it in the thousands.

It’s Methoxyflurane not morphine. The ambos can give morphine IV if they need to.

I have also had that green whistle, and man does it taste funny. something like nail polish remover and a few strange oily chemicals thrown in. and the nurses took it off me at hospital.had five ambulance trips for my knees, and been on the knee replacement list 4 times... and have been taken off the knee replacement list because i am almost deaf, and cant hear people on the phone. they hospital refuses to message me instead...

As someone who’s shoulders and elbows constantly dislocate (like I can relocate my elbows solo now)I feel for this kid so much, I’m also always singing the praises of medics, never had the green whistle so perhaps that’s what it would take me to drop L Bombs on them.
