Must be a safe area for them seeing that so many of her babies grew to that size successfully. Where I live the babies don't do well. Lots of crows and Herons around.
The Broods of Ducklings at the creek near my home rarely survive. There are so many predators. All the years of duck watching, I have seen only one brood make it all the way to adulthood.
@@M-78-76 Oddly enough, the best places i've seen success for most babies making it to adulthood are spots where there's a drainage ditch near a busy highway. The constant traffic seems to scare the predators away. Double edge sword though as a lot of the young ducks only live for a few months once they can fly as they get hit by cars on that mentioned busy highway.
